1. Right clicking box folders to open a new tab

   I would like to be able to open Box folders in a new tab by right-clicking that folder. Several years ago, when I first started using Box, I was able to do that, but for the last couple years that feature has disappeared.

   I'm not referring to breadcrumbs. I understand those can be right-clicked and opened in a new tab. Instead, I'm referring to the folders I see before me when I log into Box.

2. Allow to freeze file and folders

   Allow to freeze file and folders, which will not allow any collaborators including the owner to perform any changes to files and folders. Example: prevent creating new versions of the files, prevent moving content to trash, prevent change of metadata etc. Basically complete lock, which can only be unlocked at the end of a retention period. The purpose is to manage enterprise records. May be some sort of retention policy that lets us do the above. The current lock feature does not provide the level of freeze we are looking for.

3. Add Categories or Tags to Organize AI Agents in Box AI Studio

   The ability to create AI agents in Box AI Studio is extremely useful. However, as the number of AI agents increases, it becomes increasingly difficult to find the right agent when using Box AI.

   I would like to request a feature that allows users to better organize and find their AI agents. Possible solutions could be:
   - Allowing users to assign categories to AI agents, which could also be arranged in a hierarchical structure
   - Enabling the addition of multiple tags to each AI agent, along with the ability to filter or search by these tags

   In short, I hope you can provide an efficient way to categorize, tag, or otherwise manage AI agents, so that they can be easily found, especially as their number grows.

4. Enable download of watermarked file via public shared link.

   We want to be able to distribute watermarked files via public shared link. It's confusing for end users, as well, since the Shared Link settings for allow download is not grayed out when the file is "watermarked".

5. Shared Link Permissions Should Override Collaborator Permissions - or make it a setting option

   Currently, collaborator role overrides shared link permissions for logged in users. At my organization, we have several use cases for preferring the inverse.

   For example, we have a folder where documents are stored that are available to be shared externally. Everyone who has a business need to share these documents externally is a collaborator in the role of Viewer. They are in the role of Viewer to block them from moving these files out of the folder. They should only be ale to copy. We have a shared link to the folder on our intranet that is set to "People with the link can view and download."

   Instead, they share these files externally by either creating a shared link to send to external users or copy the files and move them into a folder where the intended recipient is a collaborator.

   Under the classification that enables us to create external shared links, Viewers are blocked from downloading, which blocks them from copying the file to the shared folder by downloading it and re-uploading it. So in order to do this, they must log out to download the file, then log back in to upload it to the folder. The classification can't be changed to "internal only" (which would allow Viewers to download) because this blocks the users who generate shared links from creating a shared link that can be accessed externally.

   This would be solved if the shared link permission to download overrode the collaborator permission of Viewer in this case.

6. Subdomain of shared folder should match folder owner

   There is a difference in the URL that is actually displayed to collaborators.

   The custom sub domain of the tenant to which user A belongs is “aaa.app.box.com“.
   The custom subdomain of the tenant to which user B belongs is “bbb.app.box.com“.

   User B was invited as a collaborator to a folder owned by user A.

   The URL of the file placed in that folder is

   User A will see “aaa.app.box.com/file/67022264912“.
   User B will see “bbb.app.box.com/file/67022264912“.

   Can the URL be changed so that the sub domain matches the owner of the folder? When collaborators go to a folder owned by another enterprise, you will see the branding change to the owner’s branding, yet the URL will contain the sub domain of the collaborator and not the owner.

7. Folder colors

   In Box it is not very easy to see what foders are shared externally. There are small globe icons on the collaborators, but if that list is too long, the external collaborator might not show up.

   Apart from that: the list of collaborators is not visible in Box Drive.

   Box should introduce a new Folder type (different color, different icon) to show that information in this folder is shared with external collaborators. This functionality should be available across all clients (Web, Drive, Mobile).

8. Detect empty folders

   Is there a way to detect empty folders in Box (so we can delete them if needed, to simplify a folder tree) ?
   Maybe a tool on a computer can work (like Remove Empty Directories) but it would be great if it was detected by Box itself.

9. Automatic deletion of Teams linked folders

   I would like to see a specification that when Teams V2 linkage is done, the folders are automatically deleted along with the team deletion, or all access rights are removed, except for certain accounts.

10. Improvements should be made so that folders with CAN VIEW PATH enabled can be selected when selecting folders in Box Relay.

    When selecting folders in Box Relay, folders below the folders for which CAN VIEW PATH is enabled cannot be selected.
    The only current workaround is to disable CAN VIEW PATH or search for lower level folders in the folder search, which is inconvenient because many similar folders are picked up and it is necessary to open each folder one by one, so we would like to see an improvement so that lower level folders can be selected even from folders with CAN VIEW PATH enabled.

11. ADD LOCKED FOLDERS LIST IN THE USER ACTIVITY REPORT

    Currently we have no way to look up which holders are locked via FolderLockAPI.
    To avoid any trouble not knowing who has been locked,
    we'd like to request to add the locked folders list in the user activity report.

13. Provide a way to remove duplicate files throughout a folder and all sub folders

    I have a user who copied all the content in multiple folders some how and created duplicate files everywhere in the folder structure. All the duplicate files had a (1) at the end but also had a few files with (email address) at the end as well. Not sure why the (email address) showed up at the end, over the (1).

    Never the less, I need a way as an admin or even a user to search for all duplicate files, within a folder/sub folders, and allow me to find all files with *(1) and provide me the list of files without the folder structure in one list. Then provide me an option to select all duplicate files and uncheck a few if necessary with a click delete option.

    This could save us a lot of wasted time going into every folder and deleting duplicate files manually.

14. Binding existing files/folders to a virtual folder for sharing

    Situation
    I've been working on several projects for a client, with a main folder for each project containing the project files, organised in sub folders. My client asked me if it was possible to point him to one folder that contained the neccessary files from each project for simplified access, without having to send him multiple sharing links to each folder instead.

    Approach
    Normally I would set up that folder on my local computer, put in all the necessary files and upload it, providing a sharing link to my client.

    Suggestion
    What if it was possible to bypass this step by creating a virtual folder where you're able to bind all neccessary files to and share this folder instead, w/o having to upload a self-made folder, with the disadvantage of doubling files on your box?

    If this is already a feature for pro memberships pls ignore this request! Thanks!

15. Ability for Reply to Box Shared Link Emails to be sent directly to sender

    When using the Box's Email Shared Link, there is no bounce back email or there is no way to track or reply to the email (the address has the name of the sender with a Box no reply email address).

    Stats for the shared link persist after the link is removed. It would be valuable to know who has access that link even after you remove it from the file. Use case would be for audit purposes.

17. Silent and Instant Copying of Shared Links in Box Drive

    When using Box Drive via desktop sync (Mac=Finder, Windows=Explorer), selecting "Copy shared link" used to silently and instantaneously create a shared link and copy it to the user's clipboard. Since this was updated, a pop-up dialog opens in a new window and takes a few seconds to enable shared links and copy it to the clipboard. If the user navigates away from this window too quickly, the process does not complete, requiring them to start the process over. Then, upon completion, the user has to close the pop-up window.

    This has also created hurdles when using Claude to compile a spreadsheet of public links, as the AI can't create public links itself and requires the user to manually enable shared links for every file.

    Please restore the instant silent link-copying feature for a better user experience, or at the very least, allow users to enable shared links at the parent-folder level so users can quickly copy links for all the individual files within the folder. This will be a better experience and allow for faster batch sharing.

    I am trying to migrate data from my desktop to Box. I am able to upload multiple files at the same time but not multiple folders.

19. Shared Links Only Accessible in "Trusted" Locations

    I would kindly like to request that BOX add a feature where we can restrict shared links by the location they are accessed from. For example, if we share a link we want to be able to restrict access to only people in the USA. This feature will add an additional layer of security and help keep collaboration more compliant. Please add.

20. Box drive hide folders

    With Box Drive ALL my folders are displayed on my desktop. While I like having access to them all without having to sync them, I would like a feature which would allow me to hide the folders I am not currently using. The Box Sync environment, which only showed those folders that I was currently working in (and had synced), was a much more efficient solution.
