Binding existing files/folders to a virtual folder for sharing
Situation
I've been working on several projects for a client, with a main folder for each project containing the project files, organised in sub folders. My client asked me if it was possible to point him to one folder that contained the neccessary files from each project for simplified access, without having to send him multiple sharing links to each folder instead.Approach
Normally I would set up that folder on my local computer, put in all the necessary files and upload it, providing a sharing link to my client.Suggestion
What if it was possible to bypass this…2 votes -
Provide a way to remove duplicate files throughout a folder and all sub folders
I have a user who copied all the content in multiple folders some how and created duplicate files everywhere in the folder structure. All the duplicate files had a (1) at the end but also had a few files with (email address) at the end as well. Not sure why the (email address) showed up at the end, over the (1).
Never the less, I need a way as an admin or even a user to search for all duplicate files, within a folder/sub folders, and allow me to find all files with *(1) and provide me the list…

Subdomain of shared folder should match folder owner
There is a difference in the URL that is actually displayed to collaborators.
The custom sub domain of the tenant to which user A belongs is “aaa.app.box.com“.
The custom subdomain of the tenant to which user B belongs is “bbb.app.box.com“.User B was invited as a collaborator to a folder owned by user A.
The URL of the file placed in that folder is
User A will see “aaa.app.box.com/file/67022264912“.
User B will see “bbb.app.box.com/file/67022264912“.Can the URL be changed so that the sub domain matches the owner of the folder? When collaborators go to a folder owned by another enterprise,…

Expired Shared Link Notification to Owner
Today, if I click on an expired shared link I cannot access the file. Ideally, I'd like the content owner to be notified if I click on the expired shared link so that they know that I'm trying to access it/can make it available to me.

Allow to freeze file and folders
Allow to freeze file and folders, which will not allow any collaborators including the owner to perform any changes to files and folders. Example: prevent creating new versions of the files, prevent moving content to trash, prevent change of metadata etc. Basically complete lock, which can only be unlocked at the end of a retention period. The purpose is to manage enterprise records. May be some sort of retention policy that lets us do the above. The current lock feature does not provide the level of freeze we are looking for.

Enable download of watermarked file via public shared link.
We want to be able to distribute watermarked files via public shared link. It's confusing for end users, as well, since the Shared Link settings for allow download is not grayed out when the file is "watermarked".

Make setting a password for shared links mandatory.
Currently setting password for shared links is not mandatory. We would like to have the ability to set a global control that requires all public/open ('people with the link') links to be password-protected.

Upload multiple folders using Upload button
I am trying to migrate data from my desktop to Box. I am able to upload multiple files at the same time but not multiple folders.
I would like to place a feature request for “upload multiple folder using “upload” button on Box web app.

Ability for Reply to Box Shared Link Emails to be sent directly to sender
When using the Box's Email Shared Link, there is no bounce back email or there is no way to track or reply to the email (the address has the name of the sender with a Box no reply email address).

Ability to edit shared link settings on Desktop
Currently, the only way to generate a shared link on Desktop is to generate the default style link (i.e. shared only within your company).
In order to get to the share settings window dialogue, you currently need to open the file on web.
It would be great to incorporate the share window dialogue natively in PC/Mac. This is a common feature currently available on OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive.

Allow Box Drive Folders to be added to Windows Library
My company has a lot of folders on Box, but only a few are relevant to what I do. In order to facilitate quicker access to the folders I use I created a Windows Library (Windows 10) and attempted to add the Box Drive folders I use to the Windows Library. But my attempts to do this resulted in Windows displaying a message "This folder can't be included because it is on a removable device" even though the Box Folder is on my Computer's C Drive. This capability works fine with Box Sync, but not Box Drive. Please make it…

Dashboard for end users
Create an end-user accessible dashboard where users can see the status of their content and shared links. For example, they can see a running list of their shared links and be able to un-share these links via the dashboard; see a running list of externally shared content with external collaborators to see if they still need to be shared externally. In addition, the dashboard should include a high-level overview of these shared folders/files so they user can classify content from one place instead of by individual files/folders. The goal: give end users a better way to classify…

Box drive hide folders
With Box Drive ALL my folders are displayed on my desktop. While I like having access to them all without having to sync them, I would like a feature which would allow me to hide the folders I am not currently using. The Box Sync environment, which only showed those folders that I was currently working in (and had synced), was a much more efficient solution.

Customize "shared settings" notification
Hi,
Whenever I put a BOX link on slack, I always get the "shared settings" notification.
"It says I can customize the sharing settings use the dropdown list. "
But I just want to share the link, don't want to customize every time. Is it possible to set not to display this?
1 voteYes, this is possible via setting the Default Instant Permission to "Do Nothing". This can be set up in Box app's Home page in Slack.

Please improve how admins can build and share folders
As a new Box admin provisioning our environment I would love to see an improvement on how admins can create and assign access to folders. Simply creating an admin tab where the admin can view all folders in the environment and create, delete, and assign access to would be perfect.

When users delete folders, we want not only the folders but also the files within to be shown in Trash.
When users delete folders, we want not only the folders but also the files within to be shown in Trash. Here is the behavior we noticed: a. We enable "Restrict content creation" in Enterprise Settings. b. User who is not the owner of the folder deletes files. -> The files will be shown in Trash. c. The same user deletes the folder which the files above existed in. d. The files which were deleted in process "a" are no longer shown in trash, making users unable to restore them, unless they restore the folder itself. e. However, the files…
