1. Request for enlargement ratio when browsing files

   1. Thin line in a file disappear, when we reduce file's rate of magnification and display whole file on screen. So, we would like you to consider measures.
   2. When the rate of magnification bar and title bar overlie on the file,we can’t see the characters and figures in the file. So, we need a function to erase these bars temporarily.
   3. The default file's rate of magnification is 200%, when we browse a file. The file's rate of magnification can change in 25% increments now. But our customer would like to change more finely.(in 1% increments,if it’s possible.)

2. Working with Procurement in Box may get easier!

   With the File Request function we are now able to request supplier to upload their proposal directly in Box without having to create accounts. But we need to make things more easier, if I have 50 suppliers, it´s very time consuming to click in each folder, generate the link, change the settings of each link to request at least "email".
   So, here is the idea:
   1. My account should have a Standard Settings for "File Request" settings that I should be able to choose.
   2. When selecting multiple Folders, we should be able to generate multiple links, with each folder generating its own link. The clipboard would be filled with a list containing the following - "the Folder Name " - "the Link"

   Seriously, we need to improve Box´s ability to handle Procurement tasks.

3. version tracking between multiple files

   It often happens that multiple files relate to the same product and therefore need to have the same version tracking. In this case if a version is created by mistake (the version number is incremented on a file) this can offset the version tracking between all the files related to the same product. Some solutions include:

   1 - Give more flexibility around version numbering (be able to do a hard reset of the version number - i.e. reset version number from number 30 to number 25 and delete all versions in-between)
   2 - Allow version tracking between multiple files - i.e. have a single version numbering system for multiple files and the version number is only incremented if all the files have been modified.

4. Allowing the ability to ignore ownership on certain files

   We are trying to store Capture One Photoshoots on Box Drive so multiple people can access them and all adjustments are saved. There is the session file, RAW image files and various files storing the processing settings, thumbnails, etc.

   I can copy a shoot to Box and work on it fine but if someone else tries to work on it, Box won't let the software overwrite the settings file and makes copies of everything with the 2nd persons email address on it. This is related to ownership of the files.

   It would be great if we could turn that off like you can with a server on Mac so that it doesn't make duplicate files.

5. Password reset is so laborioius

   You need to vastly improve the password reset experience. It takes me several minutes to set up a new password and I have to do this on multiple computers. For one thing, DON'T expire passwords. It doesn't improve security at all. Second, if you have to expire them, send me a warning a few days ahead of time. Don't just shut down my Box drive app. Third, I should be able to log in with my old PW and just reset there, maybe with a 2nd factor authentication, like a text message. Finally, the PW rules are too narrow. If I want a really long PW, that should be allowed. Please fix these things. It's REALLY annoying and I dread having to do this every 3 months. Thank you.

6. Events API - Add Policy Name to CONTENT_WORKFLOW_UPLOAD_POLICY_VIOLATION

   Currently, when an Upload Policy violation occurs, Box reports on that violation in 3 ways:
   1. Email notification
   2. Admin Console -> Reports tab
   3. Events API

   In the email notification and admin console->reports, Box provides the policy name for which the violation is occurring. However, Box does NOT include the policy name in the Events API entry, which causes a problem when we are pulling logs (via the Events API) into external reporting/SIEM tools like ArcSight/Splunk.

7. Show a warning message when users attempt to upload folders in a File Request

   Frequently we have users attempt to upload folders to use using the file request drag & drop zone feature.

   Box does not support the uploading of folders, however it allows users to drag folders into the drag/drop zone.

   This gives the appearance that folders are supported, even though they are not. Then when users hit upload they must wait a long time before encountering an error that their upload failed, and it does not tell them why.

   Solution: when a user drags a folder into the file request drop zone, immediately show a message that says "Warning: Uploading folders is not supported."

8. Notify users when a folder-path download will exceed 256 characters

   When a user downloads a folder-path that exceeds the Windows 256 character limit, alongside the standard folder structure, Box creates a “_” folder and to hold the files with a Box shortened folder paths, so it can work-around the over-long file-paths. Since Box doesn’t tell the user what to expect, they think that the download is missing files and isn’t functioning correctly.

   To address user confusion, we want Box to add alerts about the folder and file path name limits in three places:

   1. When a user creates a folder name for the first time,
   2. When a user downloads an affected folder and
   3. As a text note within an affected downloaded folder itself (so someone receiving the zip file understands what they’re looking at)

9. We would like to search by the entered email address from the selected user in the drop-down list.

   Recently, a new feature has been added to the Admin Console, allowing users to filter by selecting 'External Users' and 'Unmanaged Users' from the drop-down list in the 'Users & Groups' tab. This is a fantastic improvement.

   We would like to request the following three additional enhancements:

   1) When 'External Users' is selected from the drop-down list, it should be possible to search by email address in the top search field, and the results should display only 'External Users'.

   2) When 'Unmanaged Users' is selected from the drop-down list, it should be possible to search by email address in the top search field, and the results should display only 'Unmanaged Users'.

   3) The search results should indicate whether they are for 'External Users' or 'Unmanaged Users'.

11. Box Sign able to collaborates with the common Box Folder approval.

    We would like to request to enabled the Box Sign to collaborates with the common Box Folder approval. So the BOX Sign can add a General Task or Approval Task to a document. And also including following important items :

    1. The Approver/Signer able to give some feedback or comment along the way of approval process before taking action (Accepted/Declined).
    2. If any issues during the approval process, the Requester able to modify or amend the document and then upload new version.
    3. If the request is Declined by the Approver/Signer, Requester able to continue the approval once document has been revised or amended. (No need to start from the very beginning)
    4. The signature able to fit perfectly to the BOX sign template.

    Simply saying, we would like to request to add on all the functions in the common BOX Folder into BOX Sign.

13. Support streaming uploads or appendable upload sessions (unknown final size)

    I have a use case where data is generated continuously (sensor readings). I want to build a file in Box by streaming bytes over time and then finalizing the file when the session ends.

    Currently, Box’s chunked upload API requires specifying a file_size up front and mandates a fixed total in each Content-Range header. This prevents uploading content when the final size is not known at the start of the session.

    Request:
    Add support for a streaming or appendable upload workflow, where:

    1. A client can create an upload session without knowing the final file size
    2. Chunks can be uploaded incrementally as data is produced
    3. The file size is determined at commit time, not at session creation

    This would support scenarios such as live sensor feeds or any workflow where file contents are produced continuously.

    Is there an existing workaround or planned support for this capability?

14. Auto-redirect to Box account after logging in once and typing in Box.com in the address bar

    One of our users does not like the fact that Box auto re-directs to his Box account after logging in to his browser once, then opening up a new tab and typing in Box.com.

    Example:

    1. Login to Corporate account
    2. Open new tab/window and type http://www.box.com and hit enter
    3. Page loads to corporate Box account and does not allow me to go to box.com public website

    It could be addressed by an intermediary page that offers both options, or it could be addressed by identifying that the user is logged in, still navigating to the path requested (e.g. Box.com) and then adding a Tab (due to logged in state) of My Box (or some equivalent name) that when selected takes the user to their Box account.

    The point is to provide functionality, not take it away because a specific group has other needs.

    This is a rare use case where a logged in Box user wants to see the public website.

    Given the relatively minor affected population, we will not introduce friction for our product to solve for this use case.

15. User Interface Experience in Reporting.

    1. When generating a report through Admin Console, you have to manually search for the folder list and often get too many queries and takes too long. It would be a better experience to be prompted with the root directory that you can just drill down to which folder you want to report on in addition to the search functionality.
    2. When creating a scheduled report, the interface is a bit confusing because you have to hit Schedule Report, then hit schedule again, this should be a once step process and is confusing to most users, additionally the schedule button have a gray outline and seems it's a non-functioning button, at the very least, it should be a blue outline like the other buttons.

16. Possible bug: large directory fails to enter upload queue after uploading file to sibling directory

    I edit videos. When I'm done, I upload the finished video to one Box directory, then upload the project directory to a sibling Box directory. The finished video is 8 to 15 megabytes. The project directory has 2 files totaling about 100 megabytes.

    When I try to upload the project directory, it often just doesn't enter the upload queue after selecting it for upload from the modal upload window. I can do this multiple times and it doesn't upload. After reloading the page, then it will upload like normal.

    This doesn't interrupt my workflow at all, but it might be a symptom of a bug. However I can't reproduce it with small files and an analogous directory tree.

17. Fetch Folder items present inside a particular folder before or after a specific date range

    I have hit a dead end as I was trying to fetch files for a specific folder after a specific date.

    Below is the API call which i had made with a developer token:

    I think there should be an endpoint which takes date and folder id as parameter and responses out file items which are present inside that folder.

18. brandfolder alternative - publish large files from creative team without involving a web developer to update the page

    Brandfolder helps your brand easily give access to journalists wanting to write about your brand, a good example https://brandfolder.com/finisswim. On the front page of their website https://www.finisswim.com/ it shows a brandfolder icon to direct them to this link.

    I want box to be able to make a folder public and let journalists have access to all the files we put in this folder. Box has this functionality - it's just not so elegant.

    1) it doesn't display just the photos in GRID view. It shows the filenames, when it was uploaded, and my graphic designer's name, and the file size. All info that doesn't need to be there - we want to show the full graphic instead of some chopped version of the photo that currently displays.

    2) the detail info on the right is not necessary - we just want to show pretty pictures and if they click on the pictures, it can be downloaded.

20. Removing Selected Subfolders

    I am a software developer, and I use Box so that I can access my code at work and at home. If there is a folder called Project1 with my solution files in it, the act of opening that solution or building that solution will create both a "bin" and an "obj" folder that both contain several hundred megabytes of data that does not need to be sync'ed. When I stop debugging and change the code to run it again, now I have 2 copies of nearly identical data still being pushed up to the cloud and being downloaded by my other devices.

    Is there any way that I can select Project1 to be sync'ed to the cloud and my PCs but exclude certain folders like 'bin' and 'obj' that do NOT need to be sync'ed?

    I realize that I can turn Box off on my PC while I am developing, but then I often forget to turn it back on for a week or so, which defeats the purpose of having my data sync'ed.

    Your syncing is taking up all of my bandwidth.
