  1. Ability to manually update Box Tools

    If Box Tools fails to update automatically, you may need to install or reinstall the latest version of the installer (after uninstalling Box Tools).

    Depending on the company, installation may require administrator privileges on the PC, and updating may not be easy.

    Therefore, it is very convenient to develop a button that can be updated without installation as a standard function of Box Tools.

  2. Use status field in addition to overlay in Windows File Explorer

    This would allow users to see status icons for each folder and file without relying on the file/folder icon overlays that Windows limitations make problematic. OneDrive uses the status field in addition to overlays. Box should, too.

  3. Rethink Box Notes as a Collaborative Tool

    Many of the comments about Box Notes, and the shortcomings that make them seem only marginally useful to me, arise from them being treated/implemented as something totally "other", compared to other file types that one might load into Box.

    Unlike other files, Box acts as if Notes all belong together rather than in the user's folder structure, and they have their own type of page or tab that is confusingly different from the standard Box interface, rather than simply opening up in an editing window if the user wants to make changes.   5. Supporting Text Format in Box for Outlook

    Currently, Box for Outlook is only available in HTML format, which is the only format supported by Outlook and OWA.
    Some companies make only plain text available.
    In this case, Box for Outlook cannot be used, so please make sure that the text format is also available.

    For companies that only use OWA, Box for Outlook is a great way to share data on Box.
    This is expected to improve work efficiency.

  8. Create new folder from Move/Copy Dialogue box

    We regularly need to move and copy content to different locations in Box. It would be very helpful to have a "New Folder" option within the move/copy dialogue Box. This would help mirror desktop functionality (and sync, which currently supports this feature).

  11. Enhance and support the Box Embed Widget for mobile browsers.

    We outsource hosting and presenting documents to Box. We allow our users to upload documents in our app and we upload them to Box via API. Later on, when users want to view the file, we ask the Box API for an iframe URL and embed it in our app. So, in the end, no one is logged in to any box applications, because we use the API under the hood.

    Thank you for the submission. We are currently collecting use cases and feature requests for the Box Embed widget, and are considering it for update in a future planning cycle. We do not have a timeline for this at present, but ask you to continue to submit feedback here in the meantime.

  12. Tables - Allow Merging Cells in Box Note Tables

    A standard function when working with tables (in Excel and other tools) is a basic 'merge cells' feature that allows multiple cells (whether in a row or column) to be merged into one to function more as a grouping of multiple rows/columns. Box Notes don't currently support merging table cells.

    REQUEST: Support merging 2 or more cells in a row/column within a Box Note.

  13. Request to increase the maximum number of users to be enabled with [Enable for select users and groups] for [Mark for Offline] in Box Drive.

    I want to enable [Mark for Offline] for Box Drive and release it for some users. However, the number of users we want to register exceeds the upper limit of 100, so we would like to request to increase the upper limit of [Enable for select users and groups]. We believe this update would improve the useability and increase the efficiency among the users.

  14. Change login flow of desktop apps so it does not use default browsers

    Box Notes also uses the same login flow as Box Drive - which uses the default browsers to login (IE for Windows, Safari for Mac).

    We have Windows and our Idp cannot use IE for the login process. We would like to request support for using other browsers or a different login process that does not require IE.

  15. Allow naming files before uploading on box mobile

    My company previously used Box Capture to record videos of our packed product before going out the door to customers. This helped identify skids if lost by the carrier, as well as identify products reported missing by customers. This worked really well for us for many years.

    However, Box Capture is no longer supported and "all of the functionality" was supposed to be available with Box Mobile.
