Change prompt message for shared-folder deletion
Currently the message is "Are you sure you want to delete this item",
but when it is shared by other people, in most cases users are not aware that other collaborators will not be able to access that folder and all included files.Suggest the message to be specific and please also add additional prompt like "Are you sure? This folder has XX items in it." since we have experienced few times that root folders are deleted and 1-2 days are needed to restore.

"Shared links" - search functionality
Currently "Shared links" do not have the search functionality or the search bar enabled. This is presenting an issue some someone that needs to share a ton of files and for one reason or another cannot add the users as collaborators.

Change default view in folders being shared
Box defaults to showing files via upload date, please allow the ability to select what the default view is, so that it can be set to file name (ie alphabetically).
When sharing links to folders with clients, files being shown via upload date looks messy and unprofessional and asking the client to change the view on their side isn't an option or a solution.

Image Shared Link Permissions should Match the Box Note's Shared Link Permission
For example, when a Box Note's shared link is set to 'people with the link', all images in the Box Note should also automatically be updated to be 'people with the link' links.
The current issue is that when I set a Box Note's link to 'people with the link' but my company's shared link default is 'people in your company', all the embedded images in the Box Note are still set to 'people in your company', meaning if a non-authenticated user accesses the 'people with the link' Box Note link, they'll see 'insufficient privileges' for all the images in…
49 votesThank you for the feedback. We understand that the current permissions behavior for Box Notes images is not necessarily intuitive, and are actively looking into ways to improve that user experience. We don’t yet have a timeline for delivery, but will update here when its available.

Get separate (mapped) shared links for a large number of files under a shared folder
I am trying to generate separate shared links for a large number of files (1000+) under a folder, and map them to their original file name, so I can share these files separately.
But we can only do that either by the whole folder (not what we want), or by selecting files one by one (too time-consuming).
We hope there will be a function when you share a folder, we can also have the option to generate separate share links for each of the files under the folder, and a corresponding mapping file is generated automatically.

Tenant-level shared link restrictions for Box Hubs
We strictly manage folders and files on Box,
but the ability to select "People with the link" in Box Hubs poses a serious risk of data leakage.
To ensure secure usage,
we request the addition of a tenant-level setting that disables the "People with the link" option for Box Hubs shared links.Without this restriction, it will be difficult to allow users to utilize Box Hubs safely within our organization
7 votesWe have released a feature that allows to block Hubs from being shared publicly via “anyone with the link”:
- Admins can set a global default in Hubs Global Presets to prevent public shared links for all new Hubs.
- Co‑owners can also restrict public shared links at the individual Hub level, as long as the admin hasn’t locked that setting.

Identify which files and folders a user owns within a shared Teams folder, that are not shared or collaborated with others
We encountered a situation where certain files inside a shared drive were only visible to one user, while others couldn’t access them. This caused confusion because the files appeared to be part of the shared structure but were effectively private. A feature that highlights or filters these user-owned, non-shared items would help prevent misunderstandings and improve transparency.

Box Relay - add action for shared link
There are certain levels of folders that should not have a shared link set. Box Relay would be a good solution to monitor if a shared link was created on a folder, but this option doesn't exist in the list of folder actions.

Separate shared links for internal and external users.
We want to be able to share links internally and externally. External shared links should only be available for 10 days while internal shared links should not expire.
14 votesInteresting suggestion! However, this is not planned at this time due to competing priorities.

Open Shared Link Controls: Only [specified roles in the folder] can create open links
REQUEST: The ability for admins to choose which roles (Editor, Viewer Uploader, etc.) are able to create open ('people with the link') links in folder they're in.
Currently, if you are a collaborator with permissions to create/edit a shared link, you can choose any of the 3 shared link permissions levels.
ADMIN STORY: "I want to require that only Co-Owners in folders can create open shared links. Editors and below can create shared links, but they won't be able to chase the permission to 'people with the link."
CONTEXT: Many large enterprises, and even smaller ones with a security focused…

Add granularity to shared link controls
Based on organizational requirements and the variance, there should be additional controls such as limiting the capability to create shared links (open Links) to Admins or designated personnel as an option. This would allow for greater granularity as some divisions within an organization may have a need to share publicly, while also securing sensitive information
23 votesFor now, we are focussed on solving bulk management issues with Shared Links.
Box Shield is an additional option for enforcing granular controls on content.

Ability to track access log of folder shared link
We have access stats at file level, but there is no way to check if a folder is accessed via shared links. It would be nice to get counts on how many times a folder was accessed via shared links

Password Protected Folders
Would love to be able to password protect certain folders within an unprotected folder. Since permissions "waterfall", I am unable to have a private folder within a public one. After reading the forums, this would be a very useful and widely used feature for businesses who want to limit access to folders to certain groups.

Enable someone to invite others to edit a file or folder through a Shared Link, NOT as a Collaborator
Enable someone to invite others to edit a file or folder through a Shared Link, NOT as a Collaborator.
Currently, I can invite someone to edit my files/folders as a collaborator, but I cannot invite them to edit my files/folders through a Shared Link.
Google Workspace offers this.

Downloading Empty Folders
We noticed and it's confirmed with Box Support that the Box service treats "empty folders" inconsistently depending on which Box mechanism is used.
Empty folders are not created if we download folders via the Web interface. Empty folders are created via Box Sync. We are finding that this inconsistent behavior is creating confusion for our users and a mistrust in the Box service. Can you rectify the inconsistent behaviour?
15 votesThank you for this suggestion! This is a low priority because it’s a very narrow use case. Changing this functionality does not impact a large enough user base.

relay folder event in several folders
When You create a Relay automation You only have the possibility to manager an event folder in one folder. If You need the same scenario in other folders, You have to duplicate the stream as many times You have needed folders.
The best way is to get the possibility to choose all folders You need the same event with the same scenario in one shot and not be polluted with x time the same one only because the event has to be trapped in another folder.49 votesDelivered for Manual Start feature to cascade to subfolders.

Checking last accessed date and user on folders
Adding a feature where you are able to see the last time a certain folder was accessed along with the name of the person who accessed it. Similar to how it's done with google drive. This will help companies strengthen their security over data shared on Box Drive as this will allow them to keep track of who's accessing the files/folders. Especially when it comes to collaborators and shared links, you will be able to keep track of who has accessed these folders and when.
