1. Provide a way to remove duplicate files throughout a folder and all sub folders

   I have a user who copied all the content in multiple folders some how and created duplicate files everywhere in the folder structure. All the duplicate files had a (1) at the end but also had a few files with (email address) at the end as well. Not sure why the (email address) showed up at the end, over the (1).

   Never the less, I need a way as an admin or even a user to search for all duplicate files, within a folder/sub folders, and allow me to find all files with *(1) and provide me the list of files without the folder structure in one list. Then provide me an option to select all duplicate files and uncheck a few if necessary with a click delete option.

   This could save us a lot of wasted time going into every folder and deleting duplicate files manually.

2. I want to download all files returned from a search

   I am searching for files spread through multiple folders and I want to download all the files that are the result of the search. The only way I've found is to keep scrolling down — again and again — until all the files are displayed, then select all and download.

   But, there are a lot of resulting files and the scrolling is going on forever.

   Is there a way to just have Box download all the files that fit a search?

3. Please enable autoplay for multiple files in a folder

   You used to be able to enable autoplay for files in a box folder. Now, even if you click on "enable" for autoplay, it does not. Why????

4. Enable sync of files with lnk extension through Box Drive

   Box Drive will not sync files with a .lnk extension. We would like to be able to sync these as they are valuable in certain circumstances and are not hidden/system files.

   Thank you for your suggestion. This feature is not planned at this time, however.

5. Ability to print PDF documents without downloading

   In order to make it easier for the end user to print PDFs it'd be nice to have a print option directly in the context menu (both in the document preview and on document list).

   As PDFs tend to contain forms to fill in either interactively or manually it might be consiedered as useful to print them directly from the browser. Currently it's not possible as after user hits 'command + P' there's only 1 blank page to be printed.

   The current user path for printing a PDF is:
   1. Open a PDF in box webapp
   2. download it to desktop
   3. Open in another PDF viewer (chrome, adobe reader etc)
   4. Print

   The desired user path could be:
   1. Open a PDF document in the document list
   2. Print

   OR
   1. Print selected PDF document straight from the documents list(or folder).

6. Allow for multiple primary admins

   There are several functions within the Admin Console that are only accessible to the primary admin. Setting up SSO for example requires the primary admin, and co-admins are unable to integrate with SSO. In many environments there will not be a single administrator with privileged access across multiple systems, which means the primary admin role will need to be assigned and re-assigned multiple times to perform necessary tasks.

   To promote a secure environment where tasks may need to be performed by multiple administrators, I would request either 1) admin console allow for multiple users in the primary admin role, or 2) the co-admin role be empowered to perform necessary tasks without becoming the primary admin.

8. Lock Sorting Settings of Files & Folders independently

   We would like to be able to lock the sorting settings of files in folders? If we sort the folders based on A-Z the files inside the folders swap to Z-A. We would want them to be fully independent from each other.

10. Request to improve the behavior of files with "Download and Print Restrictions" set on Box Drive

    In Shield > Access Policy, we are creating a classification label for the policy that has "Restrict downloading and printing" set as the security control.
    Depending on when you set this label classification, Box Drive may not have the limitations you expect.
    I would like to see an improvement so that files with "Download and Print Restrictions" set cannot be opened or copied in Box Drive from the moment the settings are set.

    The specific steps and events are as follows.
    1. Open the file before setting the classification label in Box Drive.
    2. Edit, save and close the file.
    3. Set a classification label for the file.
    4. Open the file in Box Drive.
    5. Although I have applied "download and print restrictions," I can open and save files on Box Drive. You can also copy to a local drive.

12. Box drive won't show files that don't sync

    We have many department users uploading files to Box via Box drive but sometimes Box drive won't upload all the files due to a certain discrepancy. There is no error on Box drive and the only way to find this is to check for the number files on Box web as compared to the number of files on Box drive for the particular folder. This is very concerning and Box drive should either show the list of files not uploaded to Box or shouldn't allow users to upload files using Box drive. I hope there will be a fix released soon. I am also concerned with how many more customers would have been facing this issue and they may not be even aware of this discrepancy as we hardly check the total number files actually uploaded.

    We have many department users uploading files to Box via Box drive but sometimes Box drive won't upload all the files due to a certain discrepancy. 13. When I upload Excel to BoxSign, I want it to become PDF as per the print settings of Excel.

    When I upload Excel to BoxSign, I want it to become PDF as per the print settings of Excel.

    For Example, a file created in Excel with the print settings set to A4 becomes 2page PDF files when uploaded to BoxSign.
    This can be avoided by converting the files to PDF before uploading them to BoxSign, but if all the files are converted and then uploaded, the man-hours and number of files increases, which raises concerns about operational efficiency and data management, so we would like to see improvements.

    ExcelをBoxSignにアップロードした際Excelの印刷設定通りにPDFになるようにして欲しい

    例えば、Excelで印刷設定をA4にあわせて作成したファイルがBoxSignにアップロードした際に2ページのPDFになります。
    BoxSignへアップロードする前にPDFに変換を行えば回避できますが、全て変換を行ってアップロードを行うと工数とファイル数が増えて、
    業務効率やデータ管理上の懸念点があるため改善を希望します。

15. Folder of aliases to Box files for sharing

    In order to supply a group of files to a collaborator such as an outside contractor, one must copy existing files into a new folder. We need a way to gather the ALIAS /SHORTCUT to multiple files that can be placed in a single shared folder.

16. Password Protect Folders and Files

    I'd love the option to Password-protect folders and files as this is something that Dropbox currently does.

    When you password-protect files through Dropbox, you guarantee that only the people you want to access your files can get to them.

    Before anyone can view or download a document, they need to enter the password you set to protect the document.

17. Indexing Box Drive Offline Files

    I have access to a number of folders that I don't need frequently (if at all), but I do have a select group of folders that I use daily, and I keep these stored as files available offline. I recently migrated from a computer that used Box Sync to a computer using Box Drive, and I was very disappointed to find that I couldn't search my offline files using the windows file explorer. Instead, I'm forced to use the Box Drive search window, which requires that I search ALL of my folders, which frustrates many of my directed searches.

    I would like to see Box Drive to allow for offline files to be indexed.

18. Please create navigation to split "shared with me" files and folders from my own files and folders, similar to OneDrive.

    Please, please, create a separate view on the web to just showcase files and folders that are shared with me; rather than files/folders that are of my ownership. Similar to what other file storage providers offer, like OneDrive.

    Thank you for the feedback here -we are considering various ways to split shared/owned content & are considering this for the future roadmap, but don’t currently have a timeline for this.

19. Apply Classification labels on multiple items

    It's not currently possible to select multiple files or folders and classify them all at once. We have to click the More Options button on each item to apply the labels one-by-one. I need to apply classifications to about 40-50 existing folders so I'll have to do them individually. Please consider allowing us to click the checkboxes next to multiple items and then show the classify option under More Options, or add a button alongside there next to the Move/Copy, Collections, Trash buttons, etc.

    Update: I discovered that you can use a Box Relay workflow using a Manual Start trigger to apply a specific classification label to multiple files, but this does not work for selecting multiple folders.
