2FA - Option to select SMS or Email as opposed to both
Hi all,
We would like to have the option to select SMS as a 2FA method without having to have email as an option.
Back in April last year Box introduced the option to have email as a 2FA Method. Unfortunately we can’t have Authenticator app and SMS but no email as a setting. Either it’s Authenticator app only or we have to enable emails too.
On productions we go for the Authenticator app as that’s the most secure option, but one of our subsidiaries would like to give the option for SMS too.

Apply retention policy to both metadata and folder
Currently you can only select metadata or folder when applying retention policy,
I would like to set the retention policy up by applying both metadata and folder.
This way I can restrict the specific content by narrowing down the files within the folder that has a specific metadata.3 votes -
Default sort only savable from All files page
The default file sort (name or last updated) can not be saved as a default. When refreshing the page it goes back to the last sort that you used on the "All Files" page.
Similar to other online file sharing platforms, when you change teh default sort to name or last modified it saves that sort for all other folders. On Box.com if you change the default sort to by last modified on the All Files page it then applies that as the default sort for all other sub folders. Be able to use Microsoft 365 for our mail server sending Box Sign
We would like to use Microsoft 365 to send mail for Box Sign. The issue now is that some people get emails from Box and they'll block the domain in their spam filters. (Sorry Box) Most of our customers have our domain whitelisted. It would look more professional and we can manage it better.

BoxDrive-like UI for web apps
I want you to change the UI of the web application like Windows Explorer or BoxDrive.
Specifically, I would like the content list screen to be split into two, with the folder list displayed on the left and the contents of the folder displayed on the right.
If you use this UI, you won't have to switch screens every time you want to display another folder, so I think it will improve work efficiency.<WebアプリのBoxDriveのようなUI>

Auto-sync sub folders
If you sync a main folder, every folder under it or created inside it should get synced. I shouldn't have to go back to box.com to see if someone added a folder to the main directory if I have it so that directory is synced.
So if I have main directory Projects and someone adds a folder called Peanuts, it should automatically sync the peanuts folder and all its contetns because I told box to sync everything in the Projects folder. I shouldn't have to search out new folders every day, it should automatically download them to my computer.

Allow Users and Admins to set folders to be excluded from search results
It would be useful if Administrators had the ability to set folders to be excluded from Search results by default. For example, if a folder is used for historical archive purposes it might not be relevant for the majority of searches, but inclusion in search results will make it harder to find what the user is actually looking for. It would also be useful if users could do this for their own accounts as well.
One possible method of implementation is to add a Tag called "Archive" (or something similar) to folders that Users and/or Admins can set to exclude…

Need the ability for users to rename shared folders that will not affect the name for other users.
Honestly the entire functionality of the shared folders within box could use an upgrade. We switched from Dropbox to Box because we thought it had more features and better for business, but it blows my mind that we could rename shared folders in Dropbox on a user level, and it does not affect other users that share the folder, but Box won't allow that? Make it very difficult for individual users to customize their folder structure and such in a way that works for them. It's way to restrictive.

Dedicated File Shortcuts without using Bookmarks
Currently if I want to create a link from one folder to a file or folder stored elsewhere in the system, the recommendation is to use Bookmarks. This method has several disadvantages.
• First, it requires creating the link on the target file or folder, meaning you need to navigate away from the folder where the bookmark needs to exist.
• Second, shared links can be removed, disabled, or expired, which would break the bookmark.
• Third, bookmarks do not work in Box Drive.I would suggest a dedicated mechanism within the Box system for creating and maintaining shortcuts, which…

Ability to automatically add permissions to a group when sending approval task in Relay
When sending an approval task in Relay to a user that does not have folder permissions, Relay would invite that user as collaborator, but if a task is sent to a group, automatic invite does not work. Ability to bulk purge items in Trash
Have the ability for admins to bulk purge items in Trash that meet a specific criteria, like date range. For example, bulk delete all items in Trash that were deleted prior to 1/1/2020.

Folder setting: enable/disable file request
Feature that allow owner/co-owner of folders to enable or disable file request in the folder setting.
Currently, users can generate file request link in any folders with editor permissions. Some enterprise want to control (disable) usage of file request at the top-level folders depending on intended use.

Allow the custom renaming of a report before it's run
All the reports have a standard name (i.e. useractivityrunon2022-11-01-14-38-28Page1) and there is no ability to create a custom name. As an admin we run more than a single report in an hour and that report may be associated with a user or file name we're searching for. We need the ability to be able to customize the report name that is relevant so we don't have 5-10 reports running that all start with useractivityrunon{date and time} for example.

Ability to change the initials format in Box
Initials are heavily used in Box and I want the ability to change the format of how these are displayed as currently the only option is first letter of first name and surname (Joe Doe becomes JD), for companies that use non-standard email addresses, initials are different.

Increase maximum image size for branding a File Request to above 1 MB
Upload limit for Box File Request Company Logo Branding is only 1 MB. This is way too small when the average file size of a smartphone mobile phone camera picture is about 3MB, LinkedIn allows 8 MB and Google allows 5 MB.

[File Request] cascade feature to allow granular uploading of files to a folder structure / subfolders.
[File Request] feature to allow uploading files to a folder structure / subfolders. The "Submit Files" page does not provide any context regarding the linked folder name without having to manually input this, and doesn't provide subfolders to allow the user to drill down and upload files into the subfolder of which they choose (with breadcrumbs of course to navigate back to the root folder share via the File Request URL. Currently users have to create a File Request per folder or invite users in to the parent folder as a "Previewer Uploader" in order to upload.

Select and Take Action on Multiple Sign Requests | Bulk actions
With Batch Send now available, higher volume e-signature use cases should become more and more prevalent. It'd be great to have the ability to select multiple Sent Requests for Sending a Reminder, Downloading the document, Canceling the Request, and Deleting the Request, as today this must be done on a one by one basis. This would help Box Sign users manage their requests in a more efficient way.
