1. Add installer flag to disable first launch after install

   Admins deploying Box Drive may want to push out Box Drive to users who are currently using their machine and do not want to alarm users with Box Drive suddenly appearing post-install.

   Add an installer flag admins can use to disable the post-install launch. Box Drive will auto-launch at the user's next login

   We have a lot of users that access large spreadsheets and projects from their cloud drive when they would have good productivity gains if they had the file synced locally and worked on it that way. Would it be possible to build intelligence into Box Drive that could suggest best practices like synching large files that need to be accessed frequently?

5. Alert when Password Reset is coming due

   We have our users set to reset every 90 days. We find this consitently sneaks up on our users and they end up with expired passwords and then have to reach out to our IT department for assistance. This is mainly an issue with our Drive or Mobile app only users. Your website handles it well if they use the website they will be prompted. If they are on the Mobile app it stays logged in and breaks. (Shows folders and can be navigated but unable to see files) I would greatly appreciate it if we at least had to option to enable a week or so ahead of a reset for some kind of email alert to go out advising the user their password is due to expire and a link to reset it before they get locked out.

7. Warning or reminder on unsuccessful transfers

   Box Drive should present a pop up when a new unsuccessful transfer occurs, or there's pending transfers that need to be remediated. As of right now, if a user creates a folder or drag and drop folders and files in a location they're not supposed to (no permission, for example), no warning or error message is given to the user.

   The files and folders are then listed in "Unsuccessful Transfer" section on Box Drive, but no reminder is given to the user or any warning that their files are in limbo. They could be working for months without knowing their stuff is not being uploaded, since they expect for Box to "just work" and when no pop up warning is displayed the assumption is that it's all good.

10. preset email address in the sign-in dialog in Windows

    When using Box Drive on Windows, i would like you to preset email address in the sign-in dialog.
    The email address can be get from the domain user's mail attribute.

    This is mandatory in environments where SSO is enabled/required.
    In the case of Box webapp, the IdP's authentication screen opens just by pressing the continue button once.

    However, in the case of Box Drive, you need to enter an email address to open the IdP screen.
    Also, IdP may ask you to enter email address again.

    The sequence of entering this email address hinders the user experience.
    We would like you to implement a function to preset email addresses in Box Drive so that Box usage can be further expanded.

    -Overview-
    example: the 'ga' syllabary series in the Japanese alphabet
    'ガ'is U+30AC on windows or unix/linux
    -> NFC(Normalization Form Canonical Compression)
    'ガ'is U+30AB U+3099U on mac OSX
    -> NFD(Normalization Form Canonical Decompression)

    As you know, mac OSX　use only NFD.
    Windows use NFC usually, but NFD can be used at the same time.

    When trying to share BOX folder between Win and mac, Inconvenience occurs.

    -problem-
    First
    In Windows explorer, NFC and NFD are displayed as the same character on the screen, so they are indistinguishable.

    The second
    In Adobe InDesign, image files are managed as "link files", but file names are managed by NFC, so upload InDesign data created on mac OS to the shared BOX folder and download it on Windows. Cutting file link will occur.

    The third
    Where NFC uses one character in UTF-8, NFD uses two characters in UTF-8.
    The file "がぎぐげござじずぜぞだぢづでどばびぶべぼぱぴぷぺぽガギグゲゴザジズゼゾダヂヅデドバビブベボパピプペポヴ.txt" can be used on macOSX, but this file cannot be saved on the BOX server by Finder using BOX Drive.
    Even if two characters are used, "xx.txt" uses only 106 characters.
    And from Windows PC,
    The file "がぎぐげござじずぜぞだぢづでどばびぶべぼぱぴぷぺぽガギグゲゴザジズゼゾダヂヅデドバビブベボパピプペポヴ.txt" (By NFC) there will be no problem with BOX Drive.
    But, with macOS X / Box Drive, the inside of the BOX server is not displayed in the Finder.
    "がぎぐげござじずぜぞだぢづでどばびぶべぼぱぴぷぺぽガギグゲゴザジズゼゾダヂヅデドバビブベボパピプペポヴ.txt"(By NFC) uses only 55 characters in NFC.
    Are you having another problem?

    -Operation on mac OSX-
    When writing to a FAT32 formatted USB memory device on mac OSX, write the file name using NFC.

    When uploading data to a shared folder using the cifs protocol on mac OSX, write the file name in NFC format.

    When uploading data to a shared folder using the AFP protocol on mac OSX, write the file name in NFC format.

    On mac OSX, write file name in NFD format only when writing data to HFS+ format HDD.

    mac OSX does not accept any NFC on HFS+, and NFC automatically converts to NFD when downloading data from the BOX server.

    -Proposal-
    When writing data to the BOX server using BOX Drive for MacOS, please convert it to NFC instead of NFD and write the data.

    When uploading to the BOX server, no one will be troubled even if it is converted to NFC instead of NFD and saved. Inconvenience has occurred rather than being saved as NFD.

13. Placing the file on BOX folder.

    Currently, if anyone wants to upload a file from his local drive he can hold and drag the file to BOX folder in BOX UI.

    In addition to above, user should have feature of copying by Ctrl + Copy & then pasting that file by Ctrl + P in BOX UI as we normally have in other apps e.g. Microsoft Outlook.

14. Show My Recent files in Box for Gmail by default

    Box for Gmail: Show recently accessed files and folders by default within Box for Gmail.

    Oftentimes I'm attaching a file I was recently working on, so it would be nice to not click through my entire folder structure to locate the file I want to send as a link. Gmail currently does this with Google Drive.

    When attaching files from Box to Gmail, users that have recently attached files can now see those files under Recents, and can additionally see Favorites.

15. Identify version limit limitations

    As limits on versions exists - and the most important for us is having access to the earlier versions - we would like a warning to happen when an earlier version is about to become unavailable - least then we know that we need to make some copies or alterations to how our drive is updating our files.

18. Select Upload Limit, Pause Uploads

    Hello, I have multiple ideas for this relatively limited featured app:

    1. We should be able to select how many items we wish to upload at a time, instead of this default 10 or so at a time. If I've got a busy schedule, I sometimes want to achieve a few uploads at time and then pause (next point).

    2. We should definitely be able to Pause Uploads, Dropbox has it, OneDrive has it, why not Box. For my work, I need my bandwidth quite often, so currently the only way of "pausing" is closing the app completely, and not knowing whether my uploads have actually uploaded.

    3. Auto Retry Uploads - if one fails, it should autotry - simple!

    4. Set Upload Speed Limit - This is useful in line with point 2, if I need my bandwidth (and I can;t pause them), then I should be able to drop this down to a minimal speed.

    5. Faster uploads - for some reason Box Drive is way slower to upload, but it more reliable than uploading via the browser. Dropbox is super fast, so is WeTransfer.

19. Users don't get email notifications for assigned tasks unless they're in the folder

    Users don't get email notifications for tasks in Relay unless they're collaborators in that folder. It doesn't always make sense for the users to be collaborators and this can add clicks to the Relay experience. Because of this, users that rely on Box Drive don't get notified that tasks have been assigned to them unless they log into the web app to check.

    Can users get email notifications when they've been assigned a task in a workflow regardless of whether they're collaborators in the folder?

    There is no ability to “share with anyone who has the link” like in Google Drive or similar tools, but should be configurable by an administrator for specific folders.
