Ability to sort folders/file when choosing where to upload images on Mobile app
When trying to upload multiple photos from my phone to Box, it does not allow me to SORT the folders/file in order to find the folder/file I want the photos placed in. I am forced to manually scroll through literally 100s of folders - which seem to be in order of most recently used which is not helpful - until I find it. You should be able to sort the folders, at minimum to put them in alphabetical order or by date etc so that you can find the place to upload them more easily.

Ability to delete folders in the new Content Manager
In the previous Content Manager, you could delete both folders and files, but in the new Content Manager, you can only delete files.
Especially in controlled tenants, administrators may want to delete user-owned folders after a free account is rolled up to the tenant.
It has become very inconvenient because it is no longer possible to delete folders, which was previously possible from the Content Manager. We would like the functionality to be improved so that folders can be deleted just like in the previous Content Manager.

folder-setting to restrict who can classify content.
Want more granular control over who can apply classification labels — specifically:
Restrict end users from applying classifications to content that is shared via public/shared links.
Allow only folder owners or admins to apply classifications in those scenarios.
Still allow end users to apply restrictive/internal-only classifications to content that is not publicly shared (i.e., stays within the organization).

I want to be able to set Relay triggers for folders as well.
Due to Relay specifications, only "files that triggered the flow" can be selected.
In our business, we want to copy uploaded folders to another folder automatically, but it is time-consuming to manually select the destination folder each time.
Therefore, we would like to be able to set triggers for folders.
(Japan)
2 votes -
Capability to restrict third party apps from creating folders on first level
Currently, even if the tenant setting is set to allow only administrators and co-administrators to create folders on the first level, there is a security problem that third party apps can create folders on the first level even if the user-created application as a JWT application is given only the minimum permissions required to run the application, such as "app access only" and "write to all files and folders stored in Box.
For this reason, I would like to see whether to grant administrative privileges or not clearly added to the configuration item so that it can be controlled.
We want users to be able to output a "folder and file" report for each folder.
(Japanese follows English)
Currently, only administrators can output the "Folders and Files" report.
We would like users with editor permissions for the target folder to be able to output a "Folder and File" report for each folder.
At that time, We would like to be able to select whether the report will be output to that folder or the output destination.
49 votes -
Enhanced filtering/sorting when selecting folders and files
When selecting the affected folders and files the search filtering could use some enhancements.
I'll use the user filter options and search for a keyword but there are so many hits to filter through - it would be great to have some options on sorting the list. At the very least to sort alphabetically.

Bulk edit folder settings in the admin console
Grant the ability to bulk edit folder settings in the Admin Console. We recently made changes to our Enterprise folder settings. Updating these settings was not completely retroactive and did not propagate for all subfolders, resulting in either having to update folders individually or using the API. We would like the ability to have a feature for bulk editing folder settings natively in the Admin Console that can be retroactive and will propagate to subfolders.

Use Box with Adobe Acrobat CE Professional and it's "Shared Review" concept
it can be used when all reviewers have a shared UNC (windows network path) to the same file. We would like to use it with third parties + Box

Warning about creating folders with invalid characters
The web application does not currently warn users about creating folders with invalid characters. For example, if you create a folder name that ends in a period [.] via the web, that folder never comes down to the Box client on a Windows machine. This is a limitation of windows.
However, other cloud providers WARN users before creating the folder in the first place and some even prevent the creation of the folder (Egnyte for instance).
A warning of "The folder you are creating contains an invalid character that may not be visible to users on Windows machines" or something…

Change local BfD folder UI to distinguish if collaborators are in folders (like webapp)
Add UI to local BfD folders to know ownership/collaborators of folders (i.e. yellow = no collabs, grey = external collab, blue = owned externally + collaborators)

Ability to recognize shared links with passwords
I would like to see the icon change to show whether the shared link has a password or not, so that I can easily tell from the file list whether the link has a password or not.
1 vote -
"Are you sure" pop-up when dragging & and dropping folders
I'd like a pop-up message confirming if I'm sure to appear when trying to drag and drop folders on the web app. Especially in a GxP environment this is important to reduce risk of human error.

Box Shield Alert for Anomalous Deletion of Folders or Data
We would like an alert to be created if a user deletes an anomalous amount of data. We recently had an employee leave the company under bad terms and found that before we could let her go, she had deleted a bunch of folders from Box. We were able to recover them, but this would be an indicator (much like anomalous download alerts) that something is up with this employee and we should be digging in deeper.

I want to be allowed to define a property such as shared-links-target-policy where I will be able to control where a shared link opens
As the publisher of box shared links I want to be able to define the target-opening policy as for example one of the following "browser", "app", "client" in which 3rd option that choice would be defaulted to "browser" having the end app user change this during installation of app. Also when a url gets intercepted by the box app I believe 99% of the users don't realise that it is the app that asks for login to show content and they complaint to the publisher of the link saying that they don't have anonymous access to the shares as the…

Relay: Involve external Users to a manual workflow as "not-owner" of the folder/file
Hi,
i discribe a situation:
The Admin is the owner of all folders/files, directors has co-owner-rights and all employees are editors. It is similarly discribed in "Folder Structure Best Practices" under "Business Unit Drive"
Now we invite some external users... not only the owner can invite them.
Then we create some relays for specific folder, especially some manual ones, assign a task and set the Assignee to "Specify at startup"...not only the owner can do this.
Last but not least we start the manual workflow and choose as Assignee an external user... but wait...ONLY the owner of the folder…20 votes -

Make Shared Excel files only editable in Excel online, not downloadable.
Create an access level for Word and Excel files that allows the user to edit them online, but not download them to /upload a new version of them from their computer. Basically, online edit only.

Ability to restore folder structures to point-in-time
Similar to version history, we would like the ability to select a folder, folder structure, or subset of folders/files and restore all content therein to a specific point in time. OneDrive recently released a histogram with a timeline slider feature allowing admins to restore select content to a specific period in time. For users moving from on-prem or used to backups, this provides confidence in giving the right access levels to users to get work done with the ability to revert content/structures if needed in case of accidental moved/edited or corrupted content.

Box Relay outcome to Apply Classification to a folder dynamically
It would be helpful if Box Relay would have the ability to apply a classification to the folder where the workflow was triggered on dynamically as an outcome, which would also classify all content within that folder structure as well. This would allow applying classifications to the folder that a new file event trigger happened in for example, which would then flow classifications to all content and sub-folders in that folder structure.
