   It would be great to give a comment a thumbs up or down and be able to reply directly to someone's comment (ideally showing it indented under the person's comment, not at the bottom of the Activity/comment sidebar). This would help collaboration!

   【Summary】
   Please add "Allow only email addresses from specific domains to receive one-time passwords" to the Open Link settings.
   This will make it possible to prevent secondary distribution and miscommunication, which is a huge issue for Open Link.

   【Issues to be solved】
   Current Open Link is not secure enough as an alternative to attachments.
   Compared to attachments, the ability to determine the information of the access source and the ability to block access after transmission are powerful.
   However, it is impossible to prevent information leaks due to secondary distribution or misdirection, and a means to do so is needed.
   In such cases, we know that invitations are the best option, but in many cases, due to the requirements of the business partners, the users cannot ask them to obtain Box accounts.

   Current open-link passwords do not protect against misdirection and route eavesdropping, as they are mostly sent to the same destination via the same route as the link.
   Also, since the password is fixed, it is not a countermeasure against secondary distribution.

   【Idea Details】
   First, when issuing an open link, allow the user to select "Require email address verification via one-time password".
   (Request here:)
   Then, add "Allow only email addresses from specific domains to receive one-time passwords" to the settings section.

   If this setting is enabled, the following actions will be taken even if the accessing user is not logged in to Box.
   (1) The user will be asked to enter your email address.
   However, email addresses from domains other than the specified one cannot be entered.
   (2) If the user enter the address of the specified domain, he/she will receive a one-time password.
   (3) The user will be asked to enter his/her one-time password.
   (4) When the correct one-time password is entered, the open link will be opened.
   (5)The email address entered here will be displayed in the file access history.

3. Enhanced Locking Experience on Box Drive for Mac

   With Enhanced Locking on Box Drive now launched for Windows (https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360063653693-Box-Drive-v2-21-Release-Notes), it'll be great to have the same experience, i.e. opening a file will prompt the user to lock the file and auto-unlock the file when closing the file, for Mac users.

   This way all users, no matter what OS they use, can have the same Enhanced Locking experience when working with files via Box Drive.

4. Tags and comments in Box Drive

   Is there a way to see the tags in Box Drive? Right now I have to view box on the browser to see the tags for each file. Is there some option to view the tags in Box Drive without having to go to box.com each time?

5. New Color Scheme

   The new left pane color scheme makes the menu items more difficult to read. In the prod environment the Favorites icons are easily recognized by their color, but in the beta UI they all seem to blend together.

6. Metadata triggers without folder specification

   --I want Box Relay to be able to kick workstreams off in sub-folders that don't exist yet. We have a general "Accounts" folder, and I want my metadata tag triggers to affect sub folders in that parent folder. However, the metadata trigger requires me to specify which specific folder to trigger the Relay within. I suggest one of two things:
   1. Remove the need for folder specification. If I have a metadata trigger, do I really need to specify the folder in which the content lives? Relay should scan for that metadata tag, wherever it occurs.
   2. Allow for Relay to scan in parent and sub-folders. While the specific account folders do not exist yet, I still do have the "Accounts" parent folder--I should be able to use this folder location in the metadata trigger so that Relay will scan that folder AND any sub-folder within.

   Either of these enhancements would greatly improve our account certification process. We regularly add new accounts, and I don't want to have to create new Relays every time we add one.

   Thanks for your feedback. We’re exploring introducing new cascading triggers or system-wide workflows which would address this issue.

7. Copy file name and URL and path for shared link

   The "Copy Shared Link" action in Box Drive (or Copy button in the Share pop-up dialog in the Web UI) should copy more than just the URL.
   It should also have the file name and the current Box path so when I paste the link into a chat or email message, it has all the information the recipient will want.

9. Support for "custom domains" (not just sub-domains).

   Add support for custom domains (not just sub-domains). We already use the sub-domain, but we find that box.com is blocked by counter parties, for security/DLP reasons

   Having this ability would more easily allow other firms to white list our site without opening up ever Box account under the sun.

11. Integrate Box for Office with Box Edit

    Integrate use of Box Edit (Open files from Box.com, edit, and save back) with Box for Office (Create new files in Word, Excel, etc. and save to Box.com folders).

    For example - I frequently generate a series of documents that originate in Box.com, but I want to use the Box SAVE AS command to save them back to the same Box.com folder (or one adjacent to it in the file structure) with a new name. Current functionality when I activate the Box SAVE AS option from an Office application is to treat it like a newly generated file, requiring me to navigate from the root folder to the intended destination. I would like a file opened from Box.com to prompt default navigation to the source folder. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but navigating four or five levels down, 20 or 30 times a day on time-critical tasks gets stressful! Any others using Box as a primary project drive finding this frustrating?

    I have thought of a potential workaround (instead of open/modify/save-as, I will try copy/rename/open&modify) though I haven't tried it yet.

13. Expose Metadata (EXIF, Codec, Duration, DPI, Resolution, Rating, etc.) with a "Properties" or "Get Info" like appraoch

    Both Windows and macOS can easily expose more info - this includes the rich metadata in any kind of file.

    It'd be nice to have an "All Properties" or "More Info" type of file that displays a files full metadata.

    This data is already baked into the file and only needs to be exposed or indexed for display/searching.

    Examples:
    EXIF (camera, model, photographer, exposure settings, etc.), IPTC (keywords, location, description), Movie FPS, Movie Duration, Movie Codec, Movie Audio Channel Count, Image Resolution, Image DPI, Office Document Author, etc.

    Workflow:
    User looking for specific video could find all clips longer than a duration.
    Search for images from a photographer used on other projects.
    Find all RAW images by a specific manufacturer.

    Both Windows and macOS can easily expose more info - this includes the rich metadata in any kind of file.

14. 1. Search for specific file extensions. 2. Replace file extensions within box web

    1. We should be able to type in a specific file extension in the File Type.
       Ex. I'm trying to search for all .4tx files that we have, which are old 4sight Fax documents. These files are actually TIFF images, but we need to replace the extension on all of them so we can view them in our current environment, since we don't use that really old application. Box doesn't have a way to search specifically for those extensions so I have to search all file types and end up getting way more non relevant results.

    2. If we have a file that has an incorrect file extension, we should have a way to replace that. Right now you have to download the file, rename it on the computer and then choose upload new file version. Or use box drive, which doesn't allow use to do an easier search to find all the files affected by the problem.

16. Including the original path to a file that was deleted.

    It would make it easier to identify what files need to be restored if the original full path of the file was included in the trash folder and that information could be used in a sort/search.

    This feature is not on our roadmap for 2019.

18. Export all Collaborators on an item from Web UI

    As an editor - when I go to a folder, I can see everyone collaborated into that folder.
    On the right hand side, I can click on a user or on an icon that shows + x number people.

    When I do that it opens a page showing a table of users collaborated in.
    Name/ Email address/ Permission / Date Added/ Added To

    I would love a button to click which would simply export a .csv of that table.

    Seems simple as that table is presented on the web page.

    Thanks for the suggestion! While I definitely see the usefulness of being able to export a report of collaborators on an item, we don’t plan to launch this feature in the near term as we’re focused on other various collaboration improvements.

    High urgency request for the ability to customize permissions that preserve watermarking on downloaded content. Currently only “Viewers” preserve the watermark when downloading content.

20. Allow for creation of custom permission levels (roles).

    We want to share files to an external collaborator, but want to restrict the download and allow editing.

    Request: Add new custom roles and assign them preview, link, edit, and they would have to use our Office 365 to modify within Box?
