DLP
When copying content from Box Drive to an external volume, Sophos DLP is unable to capture information about this event.
According to the Sophos team, this is a result of Box Drive relying on a legacy file system filter driver, CBFS.
It is suggested that Box update Box Drive to work with Windows file system minifilter drivers as opposed to CBFS. That way DLP could monitor and capture these events.
Statement from Microsoft regarding legacy file system drivers as opposed to minifilter drivers: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ifs/blocking-file-system-filter-drivers

Inserting metadata tags for subject line and message fields within Relay
Within Relay, being able to dynamically populate the metadata fields within the email notifications.
An example use case is for lease renewal. We have a metadata template for the leases. One of the metadata fields is property name. One of the steps in the workflow would be to assign a task to execute the lease renewal for a specific property which is triggered by lease renewal date. When setting up the notification for the lease execution task assignment, right now the subject line is very generic and would say Action Required: Execute Lease Renewal - as a better user…

Request to suppress collaborator invitation emails.
When needing to invite a single user into multiple files and subfolders within a given folder, but not into all files in that specific folder, we'd like to see a way to suppress the email notifications that are automatically sent to that user each time the collaborator invitation is sent.
Currently there is no way to choose to not have the email notifications go out and then it inundates the user's inbox.

Exempt owners from disable notifications for all collaborators
Folder owners should be able to exempt themselves when they disable all email notifications for all collaborator in a folder. I still want to receive notifications as owner. Otherwise, the only other option is to have all collaborators manually change their own settings, but this is rather unrealistic

Folders to which only managed users can be invited
【Request】
Regarding the "Restrict collaboration to within {OrganizationName}" setting in the folder settings,
I would like the definition of users recognized as users in the organization to be selectable from the following two options
・Users who have same domains OR Managed Users (Same as current specifications)
・Only Managed Users【Current specifications & Issues】
Currently, for folders with this setting turned on, users can invite others who meet either of the following conditions
- Managed users of the tenant
- Users with a Box account with an email address in the registered domainAs it stands, this specification allows free accounts…

Box Relay Task Approval Options
For the action Assign a Task - Approval Task, there's a section that asks "What happens when this outcome is completed?" If the task is approved, there's no option to select, it's just hard coded in to go to the next outcome. If the task is rejected, you can select options. I would like to be able to select options if the task is approved as well.
My use case:
I'm working on a formal approval process in Box using Relay. We need to have a legal review of our templates each year and I'm using a Relay to manually…2 votes -
Bounceback sent to admin when they send an email to noreply@box.com
When a comment is added to a file in Box a notification is sent to an end user from the email "noreply@box.com" If that recipient then replied to the email would the bounce back of being "undelivered" be controlled by Box or the admins email?
End users are currently not receiving a bounce back email and therefore unaware their comments are not being delivered so our admin is missing out on comments.

Prevent duplicate compliance emails
The ability to archive compliance emails helps us comply with our company's email archiving policy.
However, due to known issues with Box's notification service, compliance emails often arrive in duplicate or never arrive.
This issue will be resolved when the Box notification service is migrated to a new one, but compliance emails are more important than other notifications and waiting for the notification service to migrate would take too long and have too great a business impact.
Please fix this issue as soon as possible in order to ensure governance.(In Japanese)

Admin Insight User Activity of Hubs
We strongly request the addition of admin insights regarding user activity in the hubs. While we can see the number of people viewing each hub in the gallery, we lack detailed information about their engagement.
Content insights(the contents in each hub) provide us with information about activities, but they are insufficient because not everyone who opens a hub previews each file.1 vote -
Users don't get email notifications for assigned tasks unless they're in the folder
Users don't get email notifications for tasks in Relay unless they're collaborators in that folder. It doesn't always make sense for the users to be collaborators and this can add clicks to the Relay experience. Because of this, users that rely on Box Drive don't get notified that tasks have been assigned to them unless they log into the web app to check.
Can users get email notifications when they've been assigned a task in a workflow regardless of whether they're collaborators in the folder?

Forward Antivirus Protection notifications to specific definable email addresses
As of now, only Site Admin and Content Owners will receive notifications from the Box Antivirus protection feature. We would like the ability to send those notifications to definable addresses within our organization. This will ensure our Security Team gets all the proper notifications and not just the Site Admin and Content Owner.
The work around at the moment is to have the Site Owner setup forwarding Rules in their e-mail application.

Additional control over Account Lockout
When a user exceeds the failed login amount threshold, it would be very helpful for there to be an account lockout triggered along with the notification email that would not require an admin to manually set the account to inactive.

Be able to write definition in multiple language (ex.ENG/JP) on "classification" definition field.
Function request regarding the Definition field of "Classification"
Would like to enter a description with each language in the "Classification Definition" column.
Even if English / Japanese can be written together in the current definition column, currently, each lines breaks are not possible. hope to make it possible. However, it is in trouble because a line break cannot be made each.

Customize notifications (frequency and timing) for tasks on Relay workflows
A key piece of any ECM system is being able to control when and how often a user is notified about a task based on the severity of the workflow. If an approval is required for a mission critical business process that is time sensitive then the creators of the workflow need to be able to create urgency with the notifications in Relay. If this workflow is low priority and they don't want to "cry wolf" then they should be able to customize that it is low priority and maybe on need to be notified once a week etc.

Events API - Add Policy Name to CONTENT_WORKFLOW_UPLOAD_POLICY_VIOLATION
Currently, when an Upload Policy violation occurs, Box reports on that violation in 3 ways:
1. Email notification
2. Admin Console -> Reports tab
3. Events APIIn the email notification and admin console->reports, Box provides the policy name for which the violation is occurring. However, Box does NOT include the policy name in the Events API entry, which causes a problem when we are pulling logs (via the Events API) into external reporting/SIEM tools like ArcSight/Splunk.
Request: Add 'Policy Name' to the CONTENTWORKFLOWUPLOADPOLICYVIOLATION entry in the Events API (to reach parity with the native Admin…

URGENT | Warnings on breaching Box's recommended limits
Hi Team,
I would like to have a UI Notification implemented in Box, which would warn the user when they reach the Box's recommended limits with respect to
1. items per folder
2. total items per user
3. collaborators per folder.1 vote -
Workflows with external users
(Japanese follows)
When an external user is invited to a folder, you want to execute a workflow that specifies an external user.Currently, the notification action allows you to create a workflow that specifies an external user.
Since it is not possible to create a workflow that specifies an external user in the "folder action" > "Add collaborator" etc., I would like to see the function improved so that external users can be specified in "Add Collaborator" and other actions.
4 votes -
Desktop App
Create an integrated, Cursor-style desktop workspace for Box customers that provides unified search (including content and metadata), rich previews, and native file management across Box and connected storage — reducing context switching and improving productivity.
Key features
1. Universal natural-language search with advanced filters, including metadata search (tags, custom fields, dates, owner, classifications)
2. Instant previews and content summaries for documents, PDFs, images, and presentations
3. Direct file actions: move, copy, rename, delete, share, and bulk operations
4. Contextual suggestions and one-click automations (for example, auto-move based on keywords or metadata rules)
5. Permission-aware UI with activity feed and audit…2 votes -
Add tag support for OSX files in Box Drive
File color labels (tags) in OSX do not work on Box Drive.
Competing cloud storage platforms (like Dropbox) easily handle this.
In a MacOS team production workflow, tags are essential for production processes. Labels allow effortless communication to other team members on the status of file production. This is an industry-standard way of working which is totally broken in Box Drive.
Please review the many MANY past requests for this feature in these forums. It is a long-standing issue that deserves attention!
