1. Access Box AI via search bar. Generate Box AI insights from ALL internal Box content that I have permission to, not just individual files

   E.g. we have years of contracts and legal research on a variety of different issues - articles, contract templates, white papers, screenshots, etc.

   We would like to have Box AI trained on our own research and contracts, that can help generate contract clauses - like, "based on our own data, generate a warranty provision for a client that operates a SaaS data storage service" with a result that provides suggestions and Box links back to the documents where it found those suggestions.

   I believe there are legal tech companies rushing to create these kinds of legal tools, but we wanted to explore if Box AI would satisfy that basic scenario right from the source.

2. Setting to be notified when a specific file, folder, or note is modified.

   We have a team that needs to be notified when a Note is modified. They are using comments to achieve this. It would be a great setting option to receive notifications on modifications to a specific file, folder or note.
   Please let me know if there is a solution for this that I am not aware of.

3. Only allow submission of an invite form if the custom text length is acceptable

   Regarding the new 254 character limit on custom messages in collaborator invites:

   If there is an invalid email address in the top field, it is highlighted with a red message and the invite cannot be sent until the exception is fixed.

   If there is an invalid message length in the bottom field, then it should be highlighted in red and the invite cannot be sent until the exception is fixed.

   Or, just prevent that field from containing more than 254 characters. Some sites include a "remaining characters" counter next to the window to make this limitation clear.

   The current user experience of allowing the form to be submitted and then responding with a failure banner is bad. I had a user today who thought she had invited people to a folder when she hadn't -- she had submitted the invite with a too-long custom message, switched tabs, and never saw the failure banner. She has reinvited them and followed up with an email containing the 350-character communication she needed them to receive about it.

4. Request File Marked Malicious Error in Box Web App UI and api

   Constant monitoring the "enterprise events adminlogs" for FILEMARKEDMALICIOUS events is not feasible for our application. Request is to add filemarkedmalicious error, similar to filesizelimitexceeded error, so that the user the can be instantly notified of potential problem at file upload time for best user experience.

   Instant notification is available today in our application, without this ability our users would see a degradation in their app experience.

7. Add New Trigger under Signing Events for "Reassign Request"

   There are times when our users would like a recipient, who is not part of the signing chain, added as a CC if a document is reassigned to a different signer. It would be nice to have a new trigger option under Relay/Workflow /Signing Events for "Reassign Request" where, if a document is reassigned, we could add an Outcome that would Send a Notification to a particular acct.

8. Option to send notifications when a change is made to a shared file

   Have an option to send notifications whenever a change is made to a shared file. I don't want this for every file all the time, but in certain situations this is very helpful - for example, when I'm asking people to add information to an Excel sheet.

10. Upon folder upload via web or Drive, if any files fail due to file/path name limit, provide a list of those files

    When a file path exceeds 255 characters, the file would in some circumstances (e.g on Windows), fail from upload. When an entire folder is moved, there is no way of knowing if or how many files may have failed to upload. This is due to OS limitation, but a Box notification or a report could at least allow a manual transfer or shortening the names of the impacted files.

12. SSO multi-zone assignment through Box Drive log in

    We have an enterprise initiative to start leveraging Box drive through our file share migration to Box. The usage is expected to be high within our enterprise since we are working towards enabling Box as an enterprise level application. Since we are a global company, we have requirements regarding data residency and data location within Box. While Zones provide that functionality, through our testing we found the Zone assignment doesn't change when the login is initiated from Box Drive, it only changes when you log through Web UI.
    Although the workaround is pretty obvious and have people log in through the web UI once the location will be set but when we scale that into a large subset of users, the management overhead to make sure everyone is assigned correctly Zone, will be considerably high.

    A simple way to accomplish this is to add the functionality of allowing Multi-Zones assignments to be driven from Box Drive log in as well as through the Web UI log in.

    appreciate any input on that.

15. About the Behavior of the iOS Version of Box for Microsoft Teams

    When attaching a file from Box to a chat in the iOS version of Microsoft Teams using “Upload file” and sending the message, I would like the sent message to display the attached file properly.

    Current behavior:
    
    When performing the above operation, the sent message does not show the attached file. The sender receives an email notification indicating that the chat recipient has accepted collaboration on the file, but the recipient receives no notification. The file simply appears under “All files” for the recipient.
    Meanwhile, on Box, the file is uploaded to the Microsoft Teams Chat Files folder and is already shared with the chat recipient for collaboration.

    (Regarding the above improvement request, we have contacted both Box and Microsoft as a support issue. Although both parties recognize it as a problem that should be addressed, it has not been resolved, which is why we are submitting it here.)

    Notification when a file conflict occurs

    Currently, there are times when file conflicts occur and go unnoticed.
    If there is a function to notify the user who uploaded the file by e-mail when a file conflict occurs, the conflict can be checked immediately, and furthermore, confusion by users and accidents during file sharing can be prevented.

18. Additional Sorting Options for Managed Users in Users & Groups

    I would like to request the addition of more sorting options for Managed Users in the Users & Groups console.

    Currently, sorting is limited to Name, Email, and Storage Used.

    It would be extremely helpful to include the following:

    1. Sort by Last Activity
       Enables identification of users who have never accessed Box or who are inactive.
       Helps admins determine which accounts can potentially be cleaned up or require follow‑up.

    2. Sort by Status
       Allows quick visibility into which users are disabled in Box.
       Supports faster lifecycle management and removal of stale or unused accounts.

    While this information is available through reports, having it directly accessible in the admin console would streamline user management workflows and reduce reliance on report exports.

19. Virus Scanning: Allow Customers to Enable Virus Scan

    Prior to 2017, virus scan notifications (when a potentially malicious file was detected) could optionally be enabled (via Internal Admin -> Enterprise Features Customization) which would do 2 things:
    1. Generate an email notification to the primary admin
    2. Generate an email notification to the file owner

    In 2017, Box made a change to also add a notification for the FILEMARKEDMALICIOUS event to the Event Stream. https://docs.box.com/docs/api-changelog#section-2016-05-18-new-event-type-for-enterprise-events

    However, in order for this event to populate in the event stream, the 'Virus Scan Notifications' must be enabled via IA, which also generates those 2 other email types above.

    REQUEST: Separate 'virus scan notifications' into 2 options:

    Setting 1: Enable email notifications to the primary admin and file owner
    Setting 2: Enable the FILEMARKEDMALICIOUS event to populate in the Event Stream

    RATIONALE: We want this notification to appear in the event stream to import by their DLP/CASB tools (AvePoint, Skyhigh, etc.), but they not NOT want email notifications automatically generated and going to the end users.

20. New Content Manager Feature Parity

    The new content manager UI could be improved by having the following features that were possible with the old content manager:
    - Folder Properties: For a folder, the old UI shows the number of collaborators, and lets you dive in (properties, general info) to see the size of the folder (in terms of storage).
    - Copy: The old UI lets you copy the name of the item (super-helpful).
    - File Properties and Version History: The old UI lets you see the version history and access stats for a file.

    I like the fact that the new UI searches Box Trash, and I prefer the way it shows collaborators (if you want see/modify the actual list).
