   Thanks for your feedback. We unfortunately don't have plans to support a Linux client for Box Drive at this time.

4. Set a static GUID value for Box Drive's volume

   Some AV/security products cannot exclude Box Drive's mount using the usual "Box" folder path and need a way to exclude the volume that is created by Box Drive

5. Upgrade Box Drive-G Drive 100 MB Limit Size Limitation

   I have a ticket number - #2250687 that has been closed because we need a feature request. When a file is created in Google Docs via Box, most of our users at Apeel keep having issues making changes, saving, sharing or downloading files.
   What happens is Google makes edits to the file, the file grows larger than 100 MB, Google then fails to send those changes to Box. While this scenario is not desired it is technically expected; because of the Google error, Box is unable to receive new information and update the file size or content.

   Please upgrade your 100 mb limit to at least 500 mb so we can work seamlessly with Box since we rely on Box to work with other teams within our company. Thank you.

6. Set up the Box Drive installer so the user gets to Single Sign On (SSO) by default

   There are quite a few steps when logging in to Box when installing Box Drive. It'd be helpful for us if the users could get to the SSO window directly instead of first having to enter their email address and then click the (not so obvious) ”Sign In with SSO” link.

   It'd also be great if the ”NORDUnet Box Service” could filter away the list of services based on the domain name in the email address the user just typed, especially since typing the name of the institutin and and then ”enter” (which I know one isn't supposed since the list is live filtered) gives a 400 error.

7. Re-implement Windows shell icon overlays - Fix it permanently

   Now in Windows 10, if we rename the registry keys, the moment the computer restarts OneDrive changes the keys again so that the box icons are not showing.

8. Add Support for Windows Server OS

   I see this has been posted int he past, but am going to post again. With the current Remote Work situation the ability to run Box Drive on a Windows Server OS would be extremely useful. We have over 1,000 employees working remotely and collaborating, and those files need to make their way back to our main storage. The best way to do that is by syncing box drive and using a 3rd party application to manage and move the files. This would ideally be done on a server based system for reliability.

   In order for some of our CADD standards to work properly we have our users marking a specific folder for offline use. It would be nice if there was an admin setting to mark specific folders to be precached or persistent in Box Drive for specific users or groups.

10. Box Drive built with the new architecture to not move deleted files/folders to the local Recycle Bin

    For the new-architecture Box Drive, we have observed that deleting the following types of items primarily moves them to the local and Box Web trash.
    ・Folders with online status
    ・Folders with downloaded status
    ・Files with downloaded status

    One of the reasons customers choose Box is to improve security (prevent information leaks), and they expect to operate in a way that “data is stored locally as little as possible.”
    However, once items are moved to the local Recycle Bin, the deletion policies configured for the trash in Box are no longer applied to those items.

    We feel that the fact that data supposedly deleted on Box Drive in reality still remains locally (in the Recycle Bin) undermines the value of using Box Drive. We are concerned that, after opting in, this results in a state where the overall security level is effectively reduced.

    Additionally, items moved to the Recycle Bin can be restored locally (e.g., to the desktop), which results in an extremely inadequate security situation. Therefore, we would like the behavior to be the same as in environments where opt-out is disabled, so that items are not moved to the local Recycle Bin.

    Box Drive上で削除したはずのデータが、事実上まだローカル上に残る（ごみ箱に残る）状態は、Box Driveを利用する意味が薄くなってしまうと感じており、オプトイン後は「セキュリティーレベルが低下した」状態になってしまうという懸念があります。

    また、ごみ箱に移動したアイテムはローカル（デスクトップ等）に復元することも可能となってしまいセキュリティが極めて不十分な状況に陥っているため、オプトアウト無効の環境と同じようにローカル上のごみ箱には移動しないようにしてほしいです。

11. Box Drive search for specific folder

    Currently there is not way to search for a folder name offline. All you can search for is a file name. This can be problematic if you have multiple files with the same name, but just in different locations. Suggest being able to search for file name and then open file.

12. Admin-level alert notification on certain Box Drive permission errors

    Users can create folders in Box Drive at the root level. In a closed folder taxonomy, the folder does not sync and fails with permission and/or problem item errors. If a user does not address the notification (or notifications are disabled), users can continue to create content in the unsynced folders. Icon overlays are also not reliable, so this will not be discovered until the content is lost due to hardware failure or software/OS reload. Consider alerting admins of these issues via the event stream or Shield-type alerts to prevent data loss, or disabling the creation of folders this way.

13. Requests for additional features in Box Drive v2.33

    We have consolidated our content in Box, and have reduced the amount of space in the user area of our PCs to the point where almost no space exists.
    We also try to keep as little space on the desktop as possible, so the new features in Box Drive v2.33 are not required.

    ■Additional features that were an issue
    Saving unsynchronized files upon logout
    When logging out, users will be able to save files that have not been uploaded to Box.

    ■Functionality Improvement Requests
    Therefore, we would like to see any of the following realized for the ability to save unsaved files to the desktop upon logout.
    Proposal 1: Change the save location from the desktop to another location by changing the registry settings, etc.
    Proposal 2: Change the registry settings so that it is possible to return to the previous specification where files are not saved.
    Proposal 3: The default value of "Keep files that have not been uploaded to Box" can be unchecked by changing the registry settings, etc.

    We would like to request an improvement in the synchronization speed between Box Web UI and BoxDrive so that they can be synchronized within 5 seconds.
    Our investigation of the synchronization speed is based on the following items.

    Pattern (3) Upload to Box Drive and check the screen update on WebUI: Result: No automatic update even after waiting for more than 5 minutes.
    Pattern (5) Delete the file on WebUI and check the update on Box Drive: Result: 20 seconds
    Pattern 6: Delete the file on the Box Drive and check for updates on the WebUI: result: 3 minutes
    Pattern ⑦ Delete the file on Box Drive and confirm the update on Box Drive on the other terminal: result 16 sec.
    Pattern ⑧ Edit the file on WebUI and confirm the update on Box Drive: result: 10 seconds
    Pattern (9) Edit the file on Box Drive and confirm the update on WebUI: result: 52 sec.
    Pattern ⑩ Edit on Box Drive and confirm updates on Box Drive on another terminal: Result 2 min 10 sec

    We are aware that the synchronization method differs from that of other companies' products, but all of the other companies' products complete the process within 5 seconds.

    We would like to request that you improve the synchronization speed, as a slow synchronization speed is not convenient for users and can lead to shadow IT.

16. Visual indicator of "Problem Items" in Box Drive taskbar icon.

    Our users frequently have "Problem Items" or sync errors in Box Drive that they don't know exist. It would be incredible if the "box" icon in the task bar had a (red?) exclamation mark appear when there are persistent sync errors so that a user knows they need to check out the issues and fix them.

    Otherwise they never know there are problems unless they happen to notice a red exclamation mark in the finder/explorer window if they are in the folder with the issue.

17. Prevent items with restricted movement from being moved on the Box Drive display

    If "Do not allow ownership of content to be transfered to external users" is enabled in the tenant settings, content cannot be moved to external tenants by users other than the administrator.

    However, when content is moved in Box Drive, although it is not actually moved, it appears on the display as if it is stored in the destination folder, and it does not return to the original folder until the user logs out/logs back in to Box Drive.

    Content whose movement is restricted by Classification Policies will immediately return to the folder in which it was originally stored, both on the display and when content is moved in Box Drive.

    Content whose movement is restricted for security reasons should be able to determine that the setting is enabled.
    As with Classification Policies by classification labels, if you cannot move the content, make it display so that it immediately returns to the original folder.

18. Search Skill card metadata from Box Drive

    Searching for skills-enabled content, a video for example, in the webapp returns results from the various skill cards such as the transcript and keywords and this is part of what makes skills so valuable and powerful. The same search from Box Drive returns nothing based on skill metadata however so users would instead have to try and search based on other information, such as the filename, etc. As skills becomes more prevalent, the search behavior should be more consistent across interfaces if/when possible.
