Distinguish FTP and FTPS in User Activity Report
would like a way to distinguish the difference between FTP and FTPS traffic.
The “details” column in the user activity report only shows the connection to “Box FTP Server”,
but it doesn’t specify which protocol or port was used.2 votes -
API for "CRUD" for Box Relay and Box Relay Lite
We have created over a hundred of Relay workflows and have currently faced a difficulty in adjusting all rules when our orgnization is changed. We would like to have a set of APIs for Relay for creation, reference, update and delete operations (so called CRUD).
Also we would like to have an way to update folder ID(s) on existing workflows. It would help so much especially when annual org change happens.

In BOX Admin console, when we search for a INACTIVE user, We expect "Change User Settings" page to show some basic information .
In BOX Admin console, when we search for an INACTIVE user, We expect "Change User Settings" page to show some basic details like: Date when account was made Inactive, Who did it, time etc. We just can't keep running reports for simple info like this.

Collaboration Whitelisting - Add Ability to Whitelist Specific External Users
The Collaboration Whitelist feature is currently scoped to whitelist entire domains
REQUEST: Take this current domain whitelisting a level deeper by only allowing certain users from a given domain to collaborate with ones own EID, aka introduce user-level external collaboration whitelisting controls to where a company can say "block all collaboration with all @acme.com users except for X @acme.com users"
21 votesNo plans at this time to make this more granular – while we’re interested in this one, to make this feature work well there is a decent amount of UI complexity to sort through on both the admin and end-user side.

Route files to a specific user via the embed widget
We would like to be able to pick what user content goes to with one widget.

Upload/Change User Avatars (Profile Pictures) from Managed Users Page in Admin Console
Currently user avatars (profile pictures) can only be added, removed, or changed from an individual user's account settings and these avatars are not editable whatsoever via the admin console. Meaning for an admin to add one on behalf of a user or to remove one, they must use instant log in (which not many co-admins have).
When clicking to edit a user from the Admin Console -> Managed Users page, options to manage the user's avatar should be presented (just like we have for editing their name, email, etc.).

Need All User Events stream API like admin_logs_streaming
Currently Box has an API for collecting individual user events, but there is no API for collecting administrative user events for an entire tenant at once.
This makes it difficult to develop an application that collects all tenant user events in one place and then links them to other services, such as internal system notifications or Box-slack DM.It would be a great improvement if there was an API to collect user events equivalent to adminlogsstreaming.
As for user notifications, it seems that email and Zapier have been used to achieve this, but each of these is becoming…

If a managed user triggers IP CAPTCHA, send an email notification to the enterprise's admin.
If a user triggers CAPTCHA on an IP address, it could potentially impact many users if our account is NATing our IPs to one external IP.
Typically this is caused by an end user saving a bad set of credentials into some kind of client (FTP or WebDAV) that is constantly trying to reconnect.

I will keep monitoring similar cases and prioritize once this becomes a high value request.

Box Sync Installation
As a user, I would like to be able to link the new Box Sync folder to the existing Box Sync folder when I uninstall/reinstall Box Sync.

Filter folders that user can access by Access level in the Users & Groups tab
Currently, all folders that a managed user may or may not have access to appear in the 'Edit User Access permissions' panel. There should be a filter for the Access level - so that eg. folders with Access level 'None' do not come up.

User activity report - files copied with 'save as' function
Add a User Activity report File Management action to capture when a file has been saved as a copy with a different name (i.e. "Save as" from Box Edit).

User Details Report: Add "Confirmation Column"
If the User Details Report can have a Confirmation column, it allows Admins to know exactly who has completed signing up for Box and who needs to complete their sign up process.
It can also let us know that if someone is experiencing issues confirming their email, then we can see if any others are having issues by seeing if they are confirmed or not.

Ability to 'Hide' Folders I've Been Added To
As a user, I've likely been added to numerous folders that I do not need to access daily or even often, but still need to remain a collaborator in. A 'hide folder' option may help with this, where a user would be able to hide a folder form their All Files view, but the user would not actually be removed as a collaborator from the folder. They would then be able to access all 'hidden' folders via a menu option on the left rail (or elsewhere).
38 votesFolder sprawl is an interesting challenge many of us face! To combat this, we’re recommending that users use the upcoming ‘Collections’ feature to group together content that’s frequently used vs. hiding content that’s infrequently used.

Open Shared Link Controls: Default Password Requirements for Open Shared Links
REQUEST: Admin would like the ability to set a global control whereby all public/open ('people with the link') links must have a password.
Our current controls on shared links impact all 3 Shared Link permissions causing additional impact on the user experience.
169 votesInstead of “require password” security control, we intend to support “Require OTP” requirement for public links (via SMS, Email, or TOTP). I wanted to share where we are headed. We do not plan on delivering this ask as is, but we do intend to solve the security use case behind it.

Export Users - Use standard storage metric in managed user export report
The "Storage Use" column in the Admin Console uses various metrics (B, KB, MB, GB, etc.), which prevents them from sorting to see which users have the most storage, least storage, etc.

When Deleting managed users 'Notify User' should be unchecked by default
When we delete managed users this screen pops up confirming our request with an option to Notify user. By default it is checked off.
Can we change that in our enterprise settings so that is unchecked by default?

Create a Box group/alias or ability to select a different name to replace the workflow owner’s name.
I’ve created several Relay workflows across the business and the issue I found is that people are reaching out to me because my name is tied to a task that is assigned to them. Often times, I do not have any context to the workflow so it results in me having to reach out to the person who started/uploaded the document. We want to avoid approvers having to reach out to the workflow owner vs. the actual owner of the program. This process would not be sustainable if it were rolled out to a larger company.

Large Folder Operation email notification when the operation is finished
I would like to have the user and admin to receive an email notification once the large folder operation (LFO) is finished so that each counterpart knows when the operation is finished.
60 votesWe have already made sure that the Content remains available to all the collaborators during a Transfer & Delete LFO. We are working on ways to do the same with other forms of LFO. We believe this approach will be a much better productivity accelerator for our customers.
For the purposes of this request to allow for email notification, this still remains in our roadmap to evaluate what would be the remaining use cases that will required an email to be sent.

Add ability to query if a user is under Legal Hold via API
Currently, Legal Hold objects have assignments, and if you get information about the assignments via the API you could see if a user was assigned to them.
However, we want to access it from the user perspective - something like an islegalheld field on the user object.
