1. Request for improvement of behavior when a workflow creator designates (suggests) an external user as the person to be notified or in charge

   Currently, the following conditions must be met in order for the workflow creator to designate (suggest) external users as the recipients of workflow notifications or task assignments.
   1.External user account already exists
   2.Automatic acceptance of external user invitations enabled
   3.Workflow creator invites external users while 1 and 2 are satisfied

   In addition, if the following settings are made on the tenant side, even if the external user has enabled auto-acceptance, the auto-acceptance process will not be performed unless the tenant side setting requirements are met, After the external user satisfies the tenant's requirements, the workflow creator must invite the external user again (either by removing the user from the folder to which the user was invited and then inviting the user again, or by inviting the user to another folder) to pass the auto-accept process.

   ・Require strong passwords for external collaborators
   ・Request 2-step verification from external collaborators
   ・Customize Terms of Service > Enable for External Users

   However, it is too impractical as a workaround in cases where a user cannot be re-invited due to lack of invitation privileges, or to remove the privileges of a user who has already been collaborated with.
   We would appreciate it if you could improve this so that if the tenant's configuration requirements are met, it can be specified (suggested) without re-inviting.

   We have a lot of users that access large spreadsheets and projects from their cloud drive when they would have good productivity gains if they had the file synced locally and worked on it that way.    This enhancement would improve document capture workflows where meaningful filenames are needed at the point of upload for easier identification, retrieval, and downstream usability. Today, the lack of rename-during-upload support creates friction for mobile use cases, reduces efficiency when many similar files are uploaded, and can force teams to rely on custom upload logic instead of standard Box UI Elements.

   Requested enhancement:
   • Allow users to edit filenames before upload commit
   • Ensure the experience works well on mobile form factors
   • Preserve the user-defined filename in Box after upload
   • Optionally support configurable naming rules or validations for admins and developers

   Business value:
   • Improves usability in mobile document capture workflows
   • Increases searchability and operational efficiency
   • Reduces dependence on custom integrations
   • Strengthens adoption of Box-native embedded experiences

   When inviting users and groups in the Content Manager, I would like to know more corresponding email addresses and group names listed in the Content Manager sharing window.
   Currently, up to five users or groups appear in the Content Manager.

   It is very inconvenient for tenants with many similar email addresses or group names.

6. Send verification email to user, on the primary email alias update on admin console

   Changing primary email login on admin console for users does NOT send email with verification link to these users. I've had to troubleshoot this for every user I've attempted to make this change on. Please fix.

9. New Shared Link Setting for OTP to Specific Email Addresses

   Proposing a new Shared Link setting or type that allows users to send a shared link to a specific email address which requires a OTP password, similar to the authentication used when an individual is sent a Sign Request via Box Sign.

11. User management very slow at scale

    Overall the Admin Console is slow especially with searching for/updating a user profile. In some cases it can take about 2-3 minutes to find, update and confirm a user's account was changed.

    Individually this hasn't created a problem, but over time it does add up. If it takes 30 seconds to look up a user, another minute to update a user's account and then 30 more seconds to confirm the change, and you have to do this 50+ times a day that quickly adds up. I would like to see updating and confirming a user's account under 30 seconds total if possible.

    Ideally we do more than update user's accounts. In some cases we need to confirm an account is simply active and again this adds up.

12. Custom notifications using Box API

    Using Box API there is no way to create custom user notifications. It might be helpful to send some information to the customer that some documents have been moved, imported, etc. A user can monitor the folder but this would be a valuable extension for the API for platform developers.

    Thanks, this is a great suggestion but not one that is currently on our roadmap. In the mean time, you can consider using Webhooks to get relevant events and make use of a simple transactional email/sms API such as those provided by Twilio/Sendgrid or Amazon SES to send notifications based on those events.

13. Allow "date uploaded" / "date triggered" as metadata fields

    Even though a file already has the date it was uploaded and modified attached to it, it would be useful to capture a date automatically like this in the same area where user-submitted metadata appears.

    I would like a field in metadata templates and Relay similar to the date picker except that it only stamps the current date, so a file request could come in with metadata such as a user-entered email address and the date uploaded, without any chance of the user having picked a different date.

    We need to download files and have their metadata visible, so we copy and paste the entire metadata section into the file itself, and having the upload date already there would save us a lot of time.

14. Box Drive performance improvement request when using VDI

    The VDI is experiencing operational delays when using Box Drive, and this is affecting our business.
    It was found that the delay was caused by a large number of disk I/Os.
    We checked the Box Drive logs and found that Box was reflecting 1,000 to 2,000 operation logs on Box to each user every morning.
    Since the above operations occur simultaneously for all users, there is a large load on the infrastructure.
    Please improve performance.

    操作遅延の要因としては多数のディスクI/Oによって発生していることが判明しており、
    Box Driveのログを確認した所、Boxから毎朝1000～2000のBox上での操作ログを各ユーザーへ反映されていました。
    上記操作が全てのユーザで同時に発生する為、インフラストラクチャに大きな負荷が掛かっています。
    性能改善をお願いします。

    Hi Could you consider displaying a pop-up message when users try to move a lot of contents to a trash?

    Currently, a pop up message appears when large folders are moved to oher folders. But no message appears when a user tries to move contents to a trash.

    To open a file from a link that is currently a shared link or a link in the URL of a Box storage location, the following steps must be taken
    1.Click on the link
    2.Login to Box
    3.Display the preview
    4.Click "Open
    5.Launch the desktop application

    Office files are often edited in the desktop application,
    and launching Box ⇒ showing preview ⇒ launching the desktop application is a laborious process with many steps to open the file.

    Please add a new feature so that after clicking on the share link and logging in, the screen allows the user to select Preview, Download, Desktop Apps, or Office Online.
    Ideally, the specific configuration area should be any of the following.
    1.Add a setting to [Admin Console > Users and Goops > Account [Roles and Account Permissions]].
    2.Add a setting to [Admin Console > Content and Sharing > Shared Links].
    *Triggers are "collaboration privileges" or "user designation

18. Automatic Locking of Documents

    It would really help our productivity to have all documents automatically lock when a user opens the file, other users that then open the document at the same time are notified they are opening a read only version since the document is currently opened by "insert user name". The file would then automatically unlock when the original user exits the file. Very similar to how Microsoft handles this with shared drives.

19. zip file decompression function

    Zip files cannot currently be unzipped in Box.
    We would like to add additional functionality because it would reduce the risk of virus infection and improve user convenience by allowing users to unzip Zip files in Box without downloading them.
    It would be even better if you could also support Zip files with passwords.
