  1. <Ability to set date and time variables for files/folders in Box Relay.>

When multiple folders/files with the same name are created (newly created/copied) on the same day using Box Relay's folder/file actions, the current specification makes it impossible to determine which item is the latest.
Please insert a date/time variable such as "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss" in the item name so that we can know when the folder/file was created.

    <BoxRelayのファイル/フォルダに日付と時刻の変数を設定する機能>
    Box Relay

  2. Remove dialog box that pops up after downloading when you send a shared link to a document

There is a dialog box that pops up after a shared link has been sent and the download has been completed. This box prompts the person to sign up or sign into Box to manage their downloads. It would be a great to turn off that dialog box, especially for those who are enterprise users. It confuses our clients when we send them documents and makes them think they need a box login to download anything, which is not true.

  3. Sync alias/shortcut files on Box Drive

Box Drive currently does not support syncing alias files (I think these are called shortcuts on Windows machine), which is a basic file organization tool. Alternatively, expose the favorites from the box web app on box drive. At present, it's impossible to organize a list of your truly active files while working solely within Box Drive. Seems like making these file types available for syncing would be a simple solution to implement.

Thank you for the suggestion. We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap. We will place this in our backlog as we continue evaluating ideas to improve Box Drive.

Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

  4. Leverage search capabilities in Box for Box Drive

Our users would like to use some of the functionalities for Box search, like dates and searching within specific folders, in Box Drive.

  5. Create a new workflow, after the folder creation.

We want to create a new workflow, after the folder creation.

We are planning to have two types of flows, "Project folder creation flow" & "Approval flow(under the newly created folder)".
The "Project folder creation" is fine, but for "Approval flow" we need to create it each time after new project folder has created.
So it would be great if we can create the "Approval flow" after the project folder has created.

    Project folder creation
    Trigger: Folder creation
Outcome: Copy the prepared folders underneath the folder which triggered the relay.
the prepared folders include "Review" and "Approved" folders.

    Approval…

  6. Improve messaging when moving folders between owners

Currently in the web app, a co-owner of a folder is able to move that folder to another location with different ownership. It makes sense that this is allowed and I don't want that to change. However, when the user does this action, they are presented first with an error dialog that suggests the action failed. If they click the "Details" button, they then see a confirmation dialog that ultimately lets them complete the operation.

I think a confirmation dialog is appropriate, but it should be presented to the user immediately and not hidden behind the initial error dialog.

  8. Unable to add a content to a Hub site due to folder settings and Enterprise settings

When an user who is invited as editor to contents at folder level or file level tries to choose q folder or file to add a Hub site, those files and folders are grayed out and unable to choose.
this is due to the invite is limited at enterprise setting or folder setting as below.

/ At Enterprise settings, Box amin checks "only the admin, fokder owner and co-owers can nvite collaborators"
    or
/At folder settings, "only folder owenrs and co-owners can send collaborators invites" is checked

This is bit strange because the user is editor, but it seems that…

  9. About the scope of expiration notice to co-owners.

Currently the expiration of the invited user to a folder is notified to the owner and co-owner of the folder,
however, any co-owner cannot receive the expiration of the invitee of its child folder while owner receives all the expiration notification.

We would like to request to cascade the scope of co-owner's privilege to its child folders so that the co-owner of the parent folder can receive all the expiration notification of the descendant folders.

  10. Metrics for tracking most oft-accessed files on a Box Drive shared among a team, department, etc.

OneDrive's tallying of the number of times particular files are accessed and by whom helped direct organization efforts for cloud storage and understand staff behavior. The Box Drive does not have a similar quantitative feature, as far as I know. Possible to create such a feature, to track who, when, and how often particular files and folders are used by staff permitted access? Thank you!

  11. Folder and file reports are output in a tree format, making it easier to understand the folder hierarchy.

The new platform version of the Folders and Files report is sorted by creation date by default.
This does not fulfill the role of a folder tree report.
If folders are not specified, sorting by all folder/file IDs, etc. into a tree format is impractical and affects business operations

  12. Don't have incidence on rights in a tree when rights are updated in sub-folders

When You put rights on a root folder, if You need to change the rights for an user in sub-folder, the impact is on the whole tree and this is not really cool... The best way is to keep the rights functionality but to forget the incidence when You change rights on sub-folders.
    It's very important !

  13. prevent saving files on local disk to folders that the user does not have access to.

Prevent saving files on local disk to folders that the user does not have access to. At present just a warning pops up but non-tech-savvy users don't know what to do with that, and the errant files can only be found by logging in as that user on that particular machine. If there was some way to not allow invalid local saves it would be very helpful!

  14. Need API to download files from Trashed folders

As of now we can able to download files from Trash, but when we try to download files from the folder that is trashed by user under legalhold, we can't do it. This is a gap in edisocvery process. Can you please publish the API endpoint to download the files from trashed folders as well? We can't tamper the user data.

Same kind of request available in these 2 places well.

  16. Report on all Upload email addresses that are created

Currently we can create a report on shared links. There is not a way to track all upload email addresses that have been created. The features surrounding upload email addresses is rather limited compared to the features associated with shared links.

  17. Allow Custom Terms of Service feature on specific folders/files

Currently, this feature is only allowed at the account level, but if an enterprise account serves multiple internal and external user groups that may require different ToS, the feature becomes useless. Please consider a simple feature to allow custom ToS for specific folders or files. Thanks!

  18. Custom app to pull Access Stats on files/folders without admin privileges

Goal: Obtain access statistics on files/folders via custom app with no admin privileges

We have an enterprise app that manages one of our Box folders - i.e. the app is owner of the folder while most collaborators are just editors and some co-owners. Moreover, we have the 'hidden collaborators' setting enabled, which means that only owner and co-owners can view 'Access stats' in the browser. For other collaborators (being Editors) to view access stats, we would then pull the stats via the Box API - e.g. using the events endpoint. With our enterprise Box instance, however, we do not…

  19. File Shortcuts

I want to be able to have file shortcuts. They are just pointers to a file that can be placed in other folders throughout the file system. This makes it seem like there are copies of the file in multiple folders and all of the copies get updated whenever one gets updated because its actually one file with a bunch of references pointing to it.

We understand the convenience that implementing this feature would bring, but recommend using the existing Bookmarks feature as a more efficient and simplified means for achieving the desired behavior.

  20. Allow AppUser in developer sandbox to use API to invite groups to folders in production.

User groups belong to the production, and production-ready applications are not supported.
Therefore, we cannot invite groups to folders in production.
