2. box sync ignore files

   Are you kindly considering adding a feature to skip / ignore certain paths (directories, files) stored on local machine from syncing? Some examples of situations where inability to exclude files from backup causes undesired issues: 1) There are programs which store temporary files among synced folders. These temporary files frequently change and are deleted on program exit, which results into frequent unnecessary synchronization and deletion of files in cloud, therefore waste of computing resources and bandwidth. 2) Specific program creates empty file "running" to indicate it's in running state. Box Sync does not sync empty file but warns user each time such program starts that it's unable to sync "running" file. In some cases I am getting multiple notification each hour. 3) Some games tend to store their data into "My Documents" folder. Those data do not need to be uploaded to cloud or to be accessible from other devices. Also, when the game is running, their frequent updates results into waste of computing power and bandwith again. 4) Some large files unable to be synced could be skipped, resulting into quicker sync time. Users should be able to choose what to sync and what not, and the possibility to exclude files or folders from syncing would greatly improve Box Sync experience!

3. Improve Box notes sharing and Home page

   Box @ IBM is easily my most used and least liked product at work. The link sharing is a horrible experience. Everyone in the company disses Box's link protection. Enabling Link Expiration by default on the shared links is the worst idea and the product manager that approved this feature should dogfood features before subjecting customers to its horrid UX. I can't easily drag drop files like in Google Drive, the home page I land is useful in 0.01% of the cases. Usually I easily spend upwards of 5 minutes just looking for files. I have taken to adding all files in Favourites to be able to find them. Who does Box actually work for??

4. Feature to Search Including Past Versions with Box AI

   Box AI for Document can only provide answers from the latest version of the stored content.
   For example, if someone other than yourself updates a document you created the previous day, you would need to manually open each version of the file and visually check for changes, which is time-consuming and may lead to missing unnoticed changes. It would be convenient if Box AI could extract only the sections with changes by comparing with past versions.

   We would like to see an enhancement in the AI's capabilities to retrieve data from past histories and provide answers.
   In that case, it would be user-friendly if users could switch between including past data or considering only the latest data when asking questions to Box AI.

   In the Box Web browser, I can confirm that the new mention is on the left side menu "notifications" with red ● when new notifications appear. We'd like to have those notifications within Box for EMM too.

7. Folder Tree View in WebApp (Windows Explorer/Finder, eBuilder)

   I noticed that Box does not have a high-level folder tree view, except in the 'All Files' page (you click on the arrow next to "All Files"). Many Box folders in my company's folder structure take a very long time to load - however the folder tree view on the 'All Files' page loads quicker, but still not as fast as another application like eBuilder. Having a permanent option on the web application would be very efficient when tracking down files, and load times won't be as cumbersome. Currently, having to click through multiple folders in order to access the contents of a folder that is buried deep within another folder is very slow.

8. Show icon in Drive for parent folders when sub-folders are marked for offline

   Currently, users are easily able to manage the hard drive space being used by BOX by simply checking into their sync folder and deciding then what they may prioritize as necessary to sync or un-sync at a quick glance. Even in the instances where there are multiple folders and sub-folders included, it’s a clear representation of what’s being synced at the time.

   These same users currently sync A LOT of files within a fairly deep folder structure, so not having an insight into which folders are taking up space only leaves a user to chicken peck around in the hopes of finding which folders are available offline or not…..or, they’re only other option is to log out, losing all offline files and start again.

9. Reflect Power Point page number settings in Box preview

   When page numbers are inserted in Power Point starting from the slide following the cover page and the slide start number is set to 0, there is a difference in the page numbers when viewed from the Power Point desktop application and when previewed in Box.
   In the Power Point app, the slide on the page following the cover page has a page number of 1, but in the Box preview screen it is 2.

   There is no workaround for users invited with previewer or shared via a view-only shared link, as they cannot edit or download.
   Please reflect the page numbers set in the Power Point application on the preview screen as well, as there will be discrepancies in recognition depending on the display method.

10. Box Note Unlimited Page Width

    Right now, the box notes page width is fixed. This is particularly frustrating when creating tables in a box note that needs more than a few columns.

    It would be amazing to have the width of the box notes to be unlimited to allow for tables to have many columns

    Hi there – Although we understand the need for unlimited page width, we do not plan to extend our existing full width experience. We will reconsider this experience once we have additional feedback and use cases.

11. Box Shield threat detection email alerts to include complete details

    Include complete incident information with the thread detection email alerts. This will make it easy to share the information with others who do not have access to Box Shield admin portal, and will also eliminate an extra step of logging into admin portal for those receiving and triaging the alerts.
    Use case: infosec team receives a Box Shield malicious content alert, identifies it as needing action, and passes it to the endpoint management team for mitigation.

13. Matching display with Box Notes shared link settings

    If the Admin Console [Shared Link Permissions] is set to type "File: Can view and download" and type "Box Notes: Can view and edit",
    Depending on where you create a Box Notes shared link, the settings and permissions displayed do not match.This is the current specification.

    Created a shared link from a file list: The permission "View only" is displayed because the type is "File", but it can be edited.
    Creating a shared link from the Box Notes share button: The "Can edit" permission is displayed to refer to the type "Box Notes".

    We feel that this specification causes confusion for users by displaying different permissions on the folder screen and on the Box Notes file.
    In fact, some of our users were confused by the display inconsistency, thinking that Box Notes could only be viewed, when in fact they could be shared in an editable state.
    Experiences like this give users the impression that Box is difficult to use.
    We are promoting the use of Box, and this inconsistent UI goes against that effort.
    From a security standpoint, it is not desirable for the actual settings to differ from what is displayed.
    It is also possible that the content may remain editable without the user intending to do so.

    We would like to ask you to unify the display of shared link permissions on file lists and Box Notes files so that they match the actual permission settings, allowing users to understand accurate information.
    We believe that this improvement will improve the user experience and contribute to more efficient operations.

14. box for slack:Image preview is not displayed in Slack Canvas

    When using the Box+Slack integration, if I paste an image into Slack Canvas, no preview is displayed, only the file name is displayed. This is different from Slack messages.

16. Supporting Text Format in Box for Outlook

    Currently, Box for Outlook is only available in HTML format, which is the only format supported by Outlook and OWA.
    Some companies make only plain text available.
    In this case, Box for Outlook cannot be used, so please make sure that the text format is also available.

    For companies that only use OWA, Box for Outlook is a great way to share data on Box.
    This is expected to improve work efficiency.

17. How do log into Drive, we'd all like to know. Horrible UX

    The simple task of being able to login to Drive. I was forced out and can't for the life of me get the login screen to pop up. I have looked at your search, and you only have a log out option, which also doesn't work. I have googled "how do you log into box DRIVE" and the only thing that comes up is how to log into your via a browser. Why is it this hard to log into a service ?

    For the Netsuite/Box bundle, it would be better to not require the user to choose whether to create a Box folder or use the default on each folder. This should be a setting that the administrator can choose.

20. Request to increase the maximum number of users to be enabled with [Enable for select users and groups] for [Mark for Offline] in Box Drive.

    I want to enable [Mark for Offline] for Box Drive and release it for some users. However, the number of users we want to register exceeds the upper limit of 100, so we would like to request to increase the upper limit of [Enable for select users and groups]. We believe this update would improve the useability and increase the efficiency among the users.
