Include file and folder IDs in user activity report
Running a user activity report for a deleted user shows the parent folder names the user was removed from, but no ID so there is no way to determine which folder they were removed from. (i.e. a searching for the parent folder called ACE returns 180 such folders).

Disable offline access for specific folder
We would like to have a feature to disable Box Drive offline access for specific folders. Our users try to download the whole department folders and sensitive folders without realizing it. This is causing issues with disk space and compliance and there is no way to control this at the folder level, as Editor will have default access to download all files offline.

Bookmark File Creation Feature for Box Files: Shared, Editable, and Folder-Selectable
Ability to create a Bookmark file for file on Box quickly:
We'd like to get a feature like creating a shortcut on Windows,
- There is an option to create a bookmark on each file
- People can select folder where created bookmark file is located into
Unfortunately, collection cannot help us out since collection can only be seen by yourself and others cannot see someone's collection.

Ability to include subfolders on User Activity Report
There are times when we are asked to run reports for security investigations.
A lot of these requests call for reporting on a folder and all of its child folders.
We understand that this is currently not possible but was wondering if there was anything in the roadmap to include the ability to select a folder and possibly include another checkbox that says "include subfolders" or something along those lines.

Would you provide additional detail? The request looks like a mix of a few different concepts. Seems unlikely we will have an API that returns everything as asked.
Can you potentially break these down? Seems the get subfolders request could be considered.

Possibility to share with non-Box users annotated files including the annotations.
Annotating files, especially pdfs, inside Box would be much more useful to me if I could share the annotated file, including the annotations, with non-Box users. A setting on the shared link dialog like "Allow persons with the link to view annotations" would be a great enhancement.
Thanks

Bulk assign metadata attributes to multiple folders/files at one time
We were a previous heavy user of tags and our users enjoyed the ability to assign tags to multiple files at once in the old UI.
Because they have tens of thousands of users deployed, they often have the same attribute needed to be assigned to many files.

Box Drive Accidental Deletion
Since the introduction of Box Drive end users that haven't read the documentation and skip through the walkthrough aren't used to seeing all of the files and folders.
The user without realizing, then believes that all of these files and folders either aren't needed or are taking up physical space on their hard drive. The user then either randomly deletes select files and folder or just deletes everything within Box Drive. A solution is needed to either further alert or prevent this. One other possible solution is to create a process to fully restore all of the deletions and…

Remove folder from desktop
I would like to be able to not have the Box folder sitting on my desktop and only sit in the Finder's sidebar, along with GSuite, or Creative Cloud for example.
The reason for this is: 1 it adds clutter to the desktop. 2 on Macs, having folders and files, especially big files there, actually will slow down the performance of the computer. Not many people realize this. The items on the desktop are constantly being pinged by the computer using resources.

Box Drive folders should automatically refresh when you open them.
When you open a folder in Box Drive, it should automatically refresh that folder. There's no scenario where you're opening a folder and you WANT an older version of it. If you're opening it, you intend to interact with it somehow, and in order to do so effectively you must have the most up to date version of its contents. Manually refreshing is tedious.

Allow individual file sharing to groups
Currently, you can share folders with groups, but not individual files. I have a custom tutorial I'd like to share with a user group wihtout nesting it in a folder, like the "Get Started with Box" PDF file does, but there is no option for it. Optimally, I'd prefer to see an option in which we could replace the "Get Started with Box" PDF file with our own PDF tutorial that addresses our specific needs.

Ability to block external invitations for collaboration
We don't want users accepting any external invites to external company shares but we want them to be able to share folders with any company. Basically, we only ever want to be the folder owner.
We have a rule that only we can create the folders and share them out but this sometimes is accidentally overlooked. In addition, Box does not have an option to "block outside collaborator invitations" only an option to completely turn off inbound/outbound sharing or white list domains.

Would like the ability to restrict certain folders from Sync'ing
For PCI content that is not suitable to be on multiple PCs, we'd like to restrict the ability for Owners and Editors to choose to Sync these folders.

Improvement plans about privacy settings of folders
Are there any improvement plans below?
BoxNote is not available when a folder is set privacy - "Hide collaborators and their activities from non-owners" - active.
OfficeOnline is not available when you set folder privacy - "Hide collaborators and their activities from non-owners" - active.
I often want to refer to Boxnote and MS Office documents for the purpose of reference much data and information with our business partners.

The "Other Options" menu is missing
The menu display of "Other Options" is cut off.
I want the menu display to be always displayed in its entirety. When files and folders are at the top of the screen, "Other Options" may not be displayed at all.

The view of files and folders in the Web UI should load dynamically, not be paginated.
Currently, the default experience in the web UI is to paginate the view of files and folders, showing just 20 at a time. That's a pretty antiquated way of displaying a long list--most modern websites, including Box's competitors, just dynamically load more items as you scroll to the bottom of the page. I just finished helping one of our users who was very confused by this: he didn't notice the pagination buttons, and didn't understand where his file had disappeared to.

When building a hub, it would be beneficial to be able to add files and folders in which you have less than owner, co-owner or editor access
Being able to add folders to view and upload files to a hub without higher (owner, co-owner, editor) access would allow much more functionality to the product.

Templates - Restrict Templates to Specific Users/Groups and/or Folder Structures
Metadata templates are currently global across an entire EID. This does not scale well for large organizations with 50,000, 100,000 or more than 200,000 users.
This request is to add 'scope' parameters to Metadata Templates such that a specific template can be restricted to...
1. A specific set of users
2. A specific set of Groups
3. A specific Folder structure112 votesThis is on 2026 roadmap, and is under development.

I would like to add attachments (with shared links) in Outlook on the Web and make the attachment location at the top of the email body.
When you add an attachment (with a shared link) in Outlook on the Web, it is attached at the bottom of the thread if the text field is expanded.
However, it is difficult to see the attachment at the bottom of the thread, so please change the setting so that the attachment is added to the top of the email every time. (or add a feature). With the current specification, attachments are displayed at the bottom of the message, especially when the body of the message is long, so the recipient may not notice the attachment.
Outlook on the Webにて添付ファイル(共有リンク付き)を追加する際、テキストフィールドを展開している場合はスレッドの最下部に添付されます。…
