  1. Please improve the tasks upper limit 20,000.

The following page says "Maximum number of Tasks per user: 20,000" and we know that if the number exceeds 20,000 tasks will no longer appear in the Tasks Inbox as an example.
    https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043695954-Adding-Comments-and-Tasks

Please remove the upper limit or change it so that users can continue to use the Task after 20,000 without loss of convenience.

  2. Accurate File Count - Script Automation or Access

As I've discussed with the BOX support team, BOX web interface does not display an accurate count of files. We upload thousands of files per day and when the count of files displayed by BOX is not accurate, we assume there was a network glitch and attempt to re-upload the thousands of files which results in unnecessary network bandwidth and computational resources.

The BOX support team has access to a script they run to fix errors in the file count. Until the file count is accurately displayed in the web interface, it would be nice if BOX would automatically run…

  3. Document metadata processing and visualization for decision making in large organizations

Example: Financial organization such as a bank, needs to process a new loan. They will need to process income verification, identity verification, and other documents. The bank representative receiving this information must validate these documents, so the metadata pulled from these documents should be easily exported into a friendly format, such as excel.

This will allow bank representative to easily approve or deny the loan, and can be automated using Box Relay.

This is a killer application, because it will increase the efficiency of document processing, and will speed up and automate the work of many employees. This will shift…

  4. Need Permission level between Viewer/Uploader and Editor

Viewer/Uploader is good, but, not good enough for all use cases; and Editor is too much--especially for external collaborators.

External collaborators need to be able to fix problems they accidentally create (e.g. uploading the wrong file) or wanting to change the name of a folder when they realize that the current name may be confusing (who hasn't done that?).

I agree with others' comments that there needs to be a permissions level between Viewer/Uploader and Editor. I can see at least four possible solutions:

    1) Allow collaborators to rename a folder/file. This could help with the accidental upload as well…

  5. Stop or modify instant suspension of new user email addresses on account setup, or give admins access to your blocklist

When a new user account is set up, a confirmation email is automatically sent to the login address for the account. Currently, if this message is bounced, the user's email address is immediately placed on your block list.

So - I create a new staff email account in 365, then use that email address to set up a Box account. Box immediately sends a confirmation email message - but 365 is having a slow day and the gateway hasn't yet caught up with accepting messages for that address. The confirmation message is bounced, and the user's email address is immediately…

  6. Have an enterprise-facing/admin notice that external collaborators have certain single-file upload limits (250 mb, 2 GB, 5 GB, etc.)

Currently, the responsibility lies on the external collaborator (they receive a message to upgrade their account), but admin would like a way to know if external collaborators have these limits

  7. 2 Factor authentication customizable at the user level

Allow admins to exempt individual users from 2 factor authentication similar to what we do for Device Pinning

  10. Sort files by real number in filename

In the file view of the web app, files and folders should be sorted by real number, not alphabetically by first digit. In Windows and Mac a files will be listed like

    1.
    2.
    10.

On Box web files are listed incorrectly like

    1.
    10.
    2.

  11. Adapt Annotations to achieve Accessibility guidelines

Box View does not conformance with W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) at conformance levels A and AA - specifically, annotations can only be viewed around mouseover. This is a blocker for us as we work with public universities who have to meet those guidelines.

  12. Ability to return all files and folders from a specific folder name

Currently , using the Folder API call with 0 for folder_id at the Root Level will return all the files/folders that the user is permissioned for.

                 GET https://api.box.com/2.0/folders/:0

Request to do the same, but for a specific folder’s scope:

                 GET https://api.box.com/2.0/folders/SPECIFICFOLDERNAME/:0

  13. Provide a Datastore to store Developer App Variables and Configuration

Following the same pattern as Slack's Platform 2.0 Datastore support:
    https://api.slack.com/automation/datastores

This would remove one barrier to entry for managing app-specific data for Developers.

  14. More possibilities regarding session timeout

We find that the session timeout possibilities are somewhat limited. The jump from 2 days to 14 days is quite big - 2 days would log everyone out during each weekend, and would result in support tickets and 14 days are quite many. Something like 4 days inbetween would be great.

  15. Dicom

Large folder has 2000 image files and 2 are corrupt. Currently the importer stalls and errors out due to the 2 corrupt files. Would it be possible to have a way to bypass this and tell the importer to go ahead and render the final study.boxdicom file WITHOUT all the files (2) being uploaded? A simply error catching sub that says – if you wait more than 30 seconds and you can’t get the last files, just go ahead and call the sub to build the final study.boxdicom file, and pop up a warning telling the user that – we…

  16. Changed conditions for sending invitation deadline notification emails for external users

Currently, invitation deadline notification emails are sent to external users under the following conditions

    1. co-owner of the folder
    2. the user has been personally invited to the folder
    3. direct collaborators of the folder.

Please change the specification so that notification emails can be received even if the user is invited as a group rather than as an individual under condition 2.

Firefox ESR support should be supported for at least 1 year without being included in the last 2 release major versions.

  20. Metadata key values of type {number, date} only searchable by range (gt, lt) and not equality

Assume I have a metadata template "Template" with a key - value of type Number. In both the web app and API, it is not possible to do an equality search:

    templateKey = template
    filters = {"value": 2}

Instead, the search requires specifying both lower and upper bounds. If you're searching for a single value, you then have to approximate it with a gt = 2, lt = 2 combo.

    a) Most importantly, the API documentation implies that the range parameters are not required when searching by number or date.

    b) I think both the webapp UI and the API…
