  1. Need API to download files from Trashed folders

As of now we can able to download files from Trash, but when we try to download files from the folder that is trashed by user under legalhold, we can't do it. This is a gap in edisocvery process. Can you please publish the API endpoint to download the files from trashed folders as well? We can't tamper the user data.

Same kind of request available in these 2 places well.

  2. prevent saving files on local disk to folders that the user does not have access to.

Prevent saving files on local disk to folders that the user does not have access to. At present just a warning pops up but non-tech-savvy users don't know what to do with that, and the errant files can only be found by logging in as that user on that particular machine. If there was some way to not allow invalid local saves it would be very helpful!

  3. Unify Time Zone Handling for Expiration Dates of File Requests and Shared Links

Currently, Box handles expiration dates differently depending on the feature: Shared Links use PST/PDT as the standard, while File Requests rely on the local time zone of the device used to create the link. As a result, even when the same expiration date is set, the actual expiration timing can differ between the two types of links.

Having different time zone behaviors across Box features lacks consistency in implementation and is not intuitive for users. We kindly request that the time zone handling be unified across features.

    ファイルリクエストと共有リンクの有効期限におけるタイムゾーン仕様の統一を希望

    <本文>
    現在、Boxでは「共有リンク」はPST/PDT基準で有効期限が処理される一方、「ファイルリクエスト」はリンク作成時の端末のタイムゾーンに依存して処理されるため、同じ日付を設定してもリンクが無効になるタイミングが異なります。

    Box の機能間でタイムゾーンの動作が異なると、実装に一貫性がなくなり、ユーザーに混乱を原因となりますので、機能間でタイムゾーンの扱いを統一していただくようお願いいたします。

  4. Metrics for tracking most oft-accessed files on a Box Drive shared among a team, department, etc.

OneDrive's tallying of the number of times particular files are accessed and by whom helped direct organization efforts for cloud storage and understand staff behavior. The Box Drive does not have a similar quantitative feature, as far as I know. Possible to create such a feature, to track who, when, and how often particular files and folders are used by staff permitted access? Thank you!

  5. Folders added to box hubs are not accessible by public

If you add a box folder to hubs that is set for public view and download access, it is not accessable from the hub by external users. I've done a workaround adding a link in a paragraph section instead, but would be nice to be able to add folders from box just like files and have them work for public view and download if needed.

Currently, if you add an external user to the hub, they are able to see and download files and folders added to this hub. Please correct me if I understand you wrong.

  6. Add folder upload support to UI Elements

Currently, Content Uploader UI Element only supports uploading files. We want the ability to expand that functionality to folders.

  7. Box web UI does not clarify whether download capability is available for a shared folder

When logged into the web app on both Firefox and Safari for macOS, I see options to open a particular shared folder file (PDF format) by opening it in Adobe Acrobat.

However, I later receive the error message "There was a problem completing your request. Please try again".

I'd strongly suggest against such generic error messages. It is possible that the opening of the file in this way does not succeed due to folder permissions. Perhaps I am not granted access to this folder or file to do anything other than view the document inline. The thing is, I do…

  8. Folder-Level Sync Controls: Restrict External Collaborators from Syncing a Folder

We disable the Sync usage for our employees for security reasons. However , there is no method to disable Sync usage for external collaborator for the collaborated folders.

  9. Custom app to pull Access Stats on files/folders without admin privileges

Goal: Obtain access statistics on files/folders via custom app with no admin privileges

We have an enterprise app that manages one of our Box folders - i.e. the app is owner of the folder while most collaborators are just editors and some co-owners. Moreover, we have the 'hidden collaborators' setting enabled, which means that only owner and co-owners can view 'Access stats' in the browser. For other collaborators (being Editors) to view access stats, we would then pull the stats via the Box API - e.g. using the events endpoint. With our enterprise Box instance, however, we do not…

Save/set file sort preferences. E.g., by "name, ascending." Set different sort preferences for different folders + universal sort preference setting.

  11. Allow users to save column width settings in folder view (Box Web and Box Drive)

    Description:
Currently, when viewing folders in Box (both Web and Box Drive), the default column widths for fields like "Name" and "Modified Date" are too narrow. Users must manually adjust the column widths every time they open a folder. However, these adjustments are not saved, and the view resets to the default narrow widths.
This causes inconvenience and reduces productivity, especially for users who frequently work with long file names or need to sort by date.
    Feature Request:

Enable users to save their preferred column widths in folder views.
Apply saved settings persistently across sessions and folders.
    Optionally allow…

Thank you for the request! If there is more demand for this feature, we can consider it.

  15. Linking NS records to existing Box folders located in NS integration folder

We would like to be able to link NS records to Box folders that are located in the NS integration folder. For example, we would like to store all of our opportunity content in a folder structure that rolls up to the customer. Knowing the default folder will be created underneath the opportunity structure, we'd like to link the opp record to a folder that "lives" in the customer folder structure.

We are currently not able to do this and continually get the error: The Box SuiteApp is not set as an owner or co-owner of this folder. Please add…

  16. Create folders in bulk by a specific destination folder using Relay at run time.

    Hello,

As an example for you: our practice uses box.com for our architectural packages. Currently when we want to create a new project folder with specific names and sub folders we have to duplicate an existing set of folders and rename them all then move them to a new location.

It would be helpful if Box Relay could let users choose a destination folder in Box at run time as part of a “Project folder creation” workflow.

For example, during a form submission (or via a simple pop-up), the user could browse/select where the new project folder—and its standard sub…

  18. Request to increase item count per folder limit

We would like to be able to add more than 15,000 items per folder. We are working with multi-level folders structures within our environment and anticipate having more than 15,000 items within the first level of their subfolders.

  19. Allow AppUser in developer sandbox to use API to invite groups to folders in production.

User groups belong to the production, and production-ready applications are not supported.
Therefore, we cannot invite groups to folders in production.
