1. Folder-level "custom terms of service"

   Is it possible to only setup "Custom Terms of service" on specific sub-folders for external collaborators? Or is this setting only account-wide??

   Use case:

   We have a dataroom set up, and some external collaborators have problems accessing the "login custom terms of service" NDA and logging into Box. The notification emails from the system are often sent to their spam folder.

   We can send an NDA via the "e-sign" feature, but don't want our external collaborators to then have to accept it a 2nd time when they come to a (separate, for NDA e-signers) dataroom folders.

   Can we setup a folder-level NDA/Custom terms of service? then we can have 2 versions of the dataroom.

   1 has the click-through NDA/custom terms of service

   2 is for people who e-sign the NDA, and then can enter without having to do a "clickthrough custom terms of service/NDA" a 2nd time

2. Add a "request to share with me" button to Box folders

   Lets say that a folder has Mary as the owner and Bob as the co-owner permissions wise. I would like a button that any other Box user can click on (for example a 'request permission' button) which when clicked, Mary and Bob will receive an email informing them that a user has requested viewer/editor rights for the folder (the user can select what permissions they are asking for). Mary or Bob can easily click an approve or a decline button from the email to grant or deny the access.

3. Share link disclosure range for images and file previews inserted in Boxnotes

   It is possible to insert images and share links in Boxnotes and set up file previews, but there are users who can access Boxnotes but cannot see the images or previews because they do not have access to them.
   However, users who insert links or images often don't realize that they are restricted because they can see the images or previews.

   When inserting images or previews into Boxnotes, I would like to see a warning that says "Other users may not be able to see this."
   Or a message saying "Would you like to adjust the publishing range of the shared link?"so that users can immediately set the disclosure range.

   Another idea would be to automatically change the access rights of the shared link inserted in Boxnotes to the same as Boxnotes.

4. Box Drive search for specific folder

   Currently there is not way to search for a folder name offline. All you can search for is a file name. This can be problematic if you have multiple files with the same name, but just in different locations. Suggest being able to search for file name and then open file.

5. Box for Microsoft Office co-authoring permissions per folder

   I propose the ability to change the setting for each folder regarding whether or not Box co-authorship is enabled.
   With the current Box for office co-authoring feature, all folders have the coauthoring feature turned on.
   I would like to have a switch so that some folders are on and some are off.

6. Selective Bulk Trash Restoration

   Enable the ability to further filter trash folders by folder path and date deleted and perform a bulk operation to restore affected files. Alternatively allow a view to see a full list of all deleted items, rather than the smaller pages.

   The current bulk method is to restore all deleted items in trash. In organizations where the trash retention is set to never auto-delete, trashed files are maintained indefinitely which can create a very large trash folder for users. We do not want to restore files and folders for all time, just a select period.

   Example:
   Files below a specific folder structure Main>Tier>* (folder or file) were deleted by a user inadvertently. There were 70+ pages of files in that user's trash folder out of 164 that needed to be fully restored. The only method to do so was to highlight each page and restore page by page. Instead, filtering by the relevant criteria including deleting user, date, and folder structure affected, then bulk restoring all files identified would save significant time.

7. box for outlook

   Box for Outlook needs to support moving multiple emails to a box folder. Right now, I can only file an email to box one at a time, and the button is greyed out when I have more than one selected. Also ability to show some box folders in Outlook and drag and drop to those folders.

8. Picker: Allow to be configured for files only or folders only

   Connections uses picker in different contexts.

   For files: allow only file selection, but still allow nav down folder tree. Remove the 'add file' button.

   For folders: Allow only folder selection, do not show files. Do not show add files or all files button.

   When sharing Box folder names with overseas users (users of other languages), Japanese folder names may not be understood.
   I would like it to be possible to display folder names in multiple languages, as this would make communication and work smoother and more efficient.

    When share folder/file to Group, if group name includes "@" and user copy and paste that group name to 'Invite People', it is judged mail address not group name.
    So, user cannot invite that group.

    If user enter group name and select from suggestion, they can invite group normally.

11. Private annotations

    It would be helpful for us to have annotations that are private to the user writing them, rather than being shared with everyone else. This should be a setting an admin would be able to force on a folder so that users can't mistakenly create public annotations.

12. Removed Collaborator Report That Show Affected Folder Path, Folder Owner, & Link To Affected Folder

    Recently, my company ran into an integration bug between Okta and Box, which result in a mass deprovisioning of users account. We were able to reprovision user account fairly quick but there as a mass folder permission lost.

    If the user permission was granted via a group, all permission was successfully restored. However, if the permission was granted individually, that permission was lost. Ticket was open with Box support to request for assistance with folder permission restore but they could not help.

    So the next best thing was try to run "User Activity" report on "Removed Collaborator" on the service account that was use for Okta and Box, to see which user account and folder was affected. Sadly the report only show just the affected folder name and the affected user. This is an problem, since we ran into the following issues:

    1. There are multiple folders with the same name. Without the folder path or folder owner, it hard to confirm which folder was the right one.
    2. If the service account does not have permission to the folder, we can't search for the folder.
    3. We have no way of knowing if the folder was internal or external.
    4. We have no folder owner name, so we can't reach out to the folder owner to request for assistance with re-granting the permission.

    So our second attempt to reach out to Box support was to request for a report that can provide us with the affected folder path and folder owner, but we were told there is not a way to pull that information.

    This really ***** us over, as we have no mean to actively assist user with getting their permission restore. What we need in this case is a undo button to restore all the permission in the past 24 hours. But that asking for too much, so I just like to get a updated report for Removed Collaborator that show the following information:

    -Date & Time
    -Affected User Name
    -Affected User Email
    -Affected Folder Name
    -Affected Folder Path
    -If the affected folder is internal or external to the company
    -Details (Permission that was removed)
    -Affected Folder Owner
    -Affected Folder Owner Email
    -Link To The Affected Folder (so I don't have to spend day searching for it)

    I am sure my company is not the first or the last to run into 3rd part integration issue that could result in mass folder permission lost. Any new method for mass permission restore or new report that can assist in restoring user permission would be greatly appreciated.

13. Allow AppUser in developer sandbox to use API to create metadata instances in folders in production.

    Metadata is set up in folders in our production via API by AppUser in the developer sandbox.
    However, metadata templates belong to the production, and production-ready applications are not supported.
    Therefore, we can set item values for the configured metadata instances, but we cannot create metadata instances.

    To open a file from a link that is currently a shared link or a link in the URL of a Box storage location, the following steps must be taken
    1.Click on the link
    2.Login to Box
    3.Display the preview
    4.Click "Open
    5.Launch the desktop application

    Office files are often edited in the desktop application,
    and launching Box ⇒ showing preview ⇒ launching the desktop application is a laborious process with many steps to open the file.

    Please add a new feature so that after clicking on the share link and logging in, the screen allows the user to select Preview, Download, Desktop Apps, or Office Online.
    Ideally, the specific configuration area should be any of the following.
    1.Add a setting to [Admin Console > Users and Goops > Account [Roles and Account Permissions]].
    2.Add a setting to [Admin Console > Content and Sharing > Shared Links].
    *Triggers are "collaboration privileges" or "user designation

15. Indexing Box Drive Offline Files

    I have access to a number of folders that I don't need frequently (if at all), but I do have a select group of folders that I use daily, and I keep these stored as files available offline. I recently migrated from a computer that used Box Sync to a computer using Box Drive, and I was very disappointed to find that I couldn't search my offline files using the windows file explorer. Instead, I'm forced to use the Box Drive search window, which requires that I search ALL of my folders, which frustrates many of my directed searches.

    I would like to see Box Drive to allow for offline files to be indexed.

16. Sharing File paths with others in my organization on box drive

    Before my company switched to box we had a mac server. When directing people to files on this server we used a utility called PathSnagger where it copied the file path which you could then email to someone and it would become a clickable hyperlink. When you click it, it took you directly to that location on the server. It was great to be able to do this.

    With box, we cannot do that any longer with this utility because it copies the fully qualified path to your local computer. file:///Users/[username]/Library/CloudStorage/Box/[folder name]/[file or folder name] and since the recipient is on their own computer, the path breaks.

    We also all are using box drive to work locally rather than in a browser.

    I know we can copy or email a shared link to people, but that takes you to view it in a browser.

    What would be AMAZING if at all possible, would be for box to either be able to detect if a user has box drive installed and when they click the shared link, it instinctively knew you had it installed and throw a popup that says, "Would you like to open this link in box drive on your computer?" (or something similar) or if the browser view could identify that the viewer has box drive installed and include a button in the browser view that says something along the lines of "reveal in box drive"

    I know that Zoom can do something like this. when you click a zoom link to join a meeting, it takes you to your browser and shows a popup "Do you want to allow this page to open “zoom.us.app”?" and you can click Allow and it launches zoom.

    Ability to search for Box files from the Mac OS Spotlight Search feature. Allow all files/folders I have access to in Box/Drive to surface in the search functionality on my Mac desktop.

18. Whitelist domains on External Collab folders

    We want the ability to be able to whitelist a domain on a specific folder for users for users of a business, within our External Collaboration folder which we use for our clients. EG, if the folder is to be collaborated with by our client "Acme", eg then:

    FOLDER: External Collaboration > Customer > ACME

    ACME Folder: Whitelist domain acme.com

19. Ability to color code folders per agency within an Enterprise account while in the web portal view.

    To clarify/differentiate different agencies/companies under our main Enterprise, we would love to have the ability to apply color coding to folders in order to make it easier for those individuals who have access to multiple companies.

20. Ability to pin a folder to remain at the top of the main Box Web App screen.

    Either a user or an admin should be able to pin a folder.

    Using favorites is the current alternative, but for usability purposes and sharing important content, pinning would be helpful as well

    Thank you for the suggestion. There are definitely use cases for which this would be useful, but it is not currently prioritized for this year. We will revisit this in the future.
