preview print
Allow the permission to just "view" & "print" files.
(However, you manage to do this)...Maybe it's as simple as having a tick button for a Previewer to also allow printing
...Currently, a Previewer can view and not print,
...a Previewer/Uploader can currently Preview and Upload (Print is meant to work here but is currently not an option despite permission tables saying it should)
...a Viewer can currently Preview, Print and Download.

Upload multiple files simultaneously in embed widget without creating zip
We have a media-recorder PC that records presentations. We need to be able to upload these to our Box folder from there, but since it is accessible to many persons, we cannot be logged in to our Box acct and email for long periods while the large files are uploading.
They are large files (500mb-1gb), and up to 45 of them, so zipping and unzipping would take a lot of time and PC power, plus we'd like to be able to share them as-is once they are uploaded, without having to download on a personal machine, unzip, then re-upload.

Drive: Notifications when there is simultaneous editing happening
When multiple people are simultaneously editing in Drive multiple versions save as different copies. There should be notifications so people don't have to lock files to let others know they are editing a document.
264 votesWe have launched the capability to coauthor Office, iWork and Google Workspace files from Box Drive. Coauthoring documents will provide indication on the users who are actively editing the document.
We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap for other file types. Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

Ability to download comments and print comments
Would like the ability to download and/or print comments associated with a file. Perhaps via additional selections to "Download Comments" and "Print w/Comments".
I understand downloading comments may need to be a separate file as the content could be in various application types and comments are not created in that document type. Printed files convert to PDF so it would be great if the comments could be converted to PDF and added directly to the printed file.
Downloading and printing comments has been a request on the Box Community site from multiple people who have also…

Separate download and print restrictions
We would like to use download and print restrictions in Access Policy separately.
Flexible configurations are required, when we handling sensitive files in Box.ex. We don't want to allow them to edit, but I do want to allow them to print.

Greater flexibility in titling files would be helpful - print options of bold, italics, use of "/"
It would be helpful to be able to use bold print and italics in titling files to make it easier for examiners to easily distinguish different types of files. The slash as a divider would also help.

Locked Files
It would be REALLY great if there were a way in Box to pull up all of the files you have locked. My team shares tons of excel files all day long. If I forget to unlock a file, no one else knows if they can get in. Half the time I'm not in it but forgot to unlock it. If there were a way to pull up all files at any given time in one place that I've locked where I could unlock them from that screen if I'm no longer in them, it would save us a lot…

File Type request: .log files (text)
A lot of applications output their logs with the extension .log. These are just text files (.txt) with a .log extension. Unfortunately, files with .log extensions can't load in preview. Please allow .log files to load in preview (for desktop and mobile interfaces).
28 votesThanks for the suggestion of this addition. We are not currently planning to add this functionality, but will keep the post updated for future.

Edit Box files directly in Teams
When files are stored directly inside of Teams, you can click on these files and “Edit in Teams” directly. If you click on files sourced from Box, however, you get an ugly preview of the file and have to navigate to Box in order to make edits, which is a clunky experience.
Doing this will require Box to inherit sharing rules as defined in Teams. In other words, I should be allowed to at least view if not edit files shared with me in Teams, even if I don't have access to the underlying folder in Box. Perhaps it could…

Working on same file simultaneously
Possibility in Box Drive - (and also in any other application (online, app,..))- to lock a file (e.g. Excel file) automatically as soon as one user is in the document.
Therefore, if the next user wants to open the same file while one user is already working on it, it gets immediately a message like "Read only". As soon as the user is out of the file, and no user has opened the file, whoever wants to open it, can open it without any warnings in editor mode.2 votes -
Preview support for .MXF files
MXF is an industry-standard file format for video and audio. MXF files contain information about the media inside (metadata). This file type is commonly used by marketing teams for video content. Requesting previewing support on Box Web App for .MXF files to allow easy external collaboration on this content.

Box for Teams v2: Bunch of files will be shown when the files has shared in direct chat
When the files has shared in the direct chat, it will be uploaded in "Microsoft Teams Chat Files" folder on sender side, on the other hand, for the receiver side, files will be listed in the top directory, which leads to list bunch of files in the top directory.
It would be nice, if the new folder will be created for the each chat under "Microsoft Teams Chat Files" folder and add collaboration for the folder when the direct chat has started.

Move Multiple Files at Once
Sometimes I need to consolidate multiple files into one folder but currently I have to move them individually. I'd like to be able to select multiple files to move simultaneous to a new location.

Box Drive - Add Support for .pst Files
While .pst files are visible from Box's web client, they are not visible from Box Drive. This results in an inability to connect .pst files from Box to Outlook, and is preventing us from rolling out Box across our enterprise.

Multiple files in one shared link
We would like to send multiple documents from separate folders in a single shared link.
Currently when you select multiple files, you are limited to files within one folder, and the files are sent with a shared link for each file.
Possible solve: "Bundle zone" in the web UI where you could drag and drop files from different folders, and once you have all the ones you want, tell it to generate a single shared link which would display like a folder to the recipient, without the user having to rearrange their content.
