  1. FIDO2 Phising Resistant MFA

    Box only supports MFA and TOTOP options for 2FA external users. There is a need for FIDO2 (phising-resistant) requirements as an option for external sharing.

    This process is not only secure but also user-friendly. There's no need for users to remember extra passwords or carry around additional hardware tokens. There is no need to install additional software; all the major browser support this out of the box. The device and browser do all the heavy lifting.

  2. In Excel Preview - Ability to Sum up a total of a column

    Since we can already click on and highlight cells in an Excel file in Preview mode on Box, I would love the functionality of being able to highlight and get a Total (Sum) of cells that is displayed in Preview mode without having to Open or Download the file.

  3. Ability for users to track activity

    In the Closed configuration ,Only admins and co-admins can track activity on the files listed at the URLs below.
    Users cannot be tracked.
    If users can export reports, they can perform on themselves　statistical analysis.
    As a result, it becomes possible to actively use Box.
    So I want users to be included in the targets that can be exported.

  4. We would like to be able to register a group in the Configure Relay even if the group's permission setting is not "Administrators only"

    Currently, when we try to register a group in the Relay configuration, we can register the group if the group's permission setting is "Administrators only", but not if the group's permission setting is "Company" or "Group Members".
    Registration location [Enterprise Settings > Content & Sharing > Configure Relay].
    We are using "Company" and "Group Member" as the permission setting for groups to be able to respond to group invitations, etc. outside of the management console, so we would like these permission settings to be able to be registered in the Configure Relay.

  5. Allow bulk action on Shield malicious content alerts

    Allow bulk action on BoxShield malicious content alerts. We have seen an extremely high rate of positives. Individually marking files as safe is not scalable, and need to be able to do bulk updates.

  6. We would like to be able to use the annotation feature in our Excel files as well.

    We would like to use the annotation function available in PDF and Word files for Excel files as well.
    We would like to see this feature supported for realization, as it improves convenience and leads to increased work efficiency.

  7. Allow me to set default sorting to alphabetical anywhere

    Please, pretty please — allow me to set default sort of folder contents to alphabetical within a folder, for any folder. Should be an option under Settings for the folder.

    I have folders numbered for steps in a publication process, and I have to click "Name" every single *#$% time I display the folder list because it defaults to most recent. I may need to access any step in the process at any point in time; recent is USELESS to me. This is sooooo cognitively draining because I am touching dozens to 100s of files a day.

  8. More Granular options for Box Sign Reminders

    Right now the reminders for Box sign are pre-set to:
    "day 3, 8, 13 and 18"

    We would like to be able to set when we would like reminders to be sent rather than be limited to those options.

  10. I would like to see BoxWeb implement a function to sort files by extension.

    The current BoxWeb does not allow sorting by file extension.
    However, in some fields, a large number of photos and videos are often taken for measurement and development work, and many types of files are miscellaneously stored in a single folder.

    For example, when searching for image files (.png/.jpg/etc...) For example, if you are looking for image files (.png/.jpg/etc...), you can search for them by file name, but you may also want to check them by file extension.

  11. Managing/Drawing Diagrams in Box

    Box already integrate MS Office to be able to temporary dowload a office document for edit but also allows to update MS Office documents online in the browser.

    I would like to see similar functionality for diagrams.

    Draw.IO is a diagram tool that you can use offline and online app.diagrams.net
    So it would be easy to provide working with diagrams in Box very easy.

    Function A: Online Editing of draw.io files with embedded drawio or passing it to app.diagrams.net

    Function B: Allows to temporary download drawio files same as with ms office documents.

  12. Get documents into and out of Box Notes from other formats

    My organization likes Box Notes for their online-collaboration support. But when we have existing documents, we can't get them into a Box Note. And if we want to get them out, we can't do that either.

    Add import and export support to Box Notes. I'd be delighted with Markdown, but my organization can work with just about any open format. Or publish your own proprietary format. XML or JSON, we don't care! Just make it possible to get documents into and out of Box Notes.

  14. Cascading Metadata - applying policy should stay in affect so future value updates cascade without force.

    Metadata cascade policy should stay in effect and push future value changes down (as per policy) - until the policy is removed.

    Futher only the value(s) updated should be pushed down, not the full set of metadata values..

  15. Bulk API support

    It would be great if we have a bulk API option. I would like to pass in the list of entity ids(could be files, folders users etc) and get back the results. This will reduce the number of api calls we do to get all the information.

    We try to manage client's storage accounts and the main problem is with rate limiting for a large clients.

    Thank you for the suggestion. This is an interesting idea but not one we currently have on the roadmap. In the mean time, you can apply techniques such as caching (i.e. fetch what you need once for a session and keep it in local storage) to reduce round-trips, and the use the ?fields query string parameter to request only the minimal set of fields you need, which can reduce API response times.

  16. Export list of tags

    We would like to be able to export of list of tags used in a given folder. Ideally, this would be in the form of a spreadsheet or Excel file that aligns tags to a file names. Also, a restricted tags list (i.e., “select only from the drop-down,” or words not on the approved tags list will not be able to be used) would be most helpful.

  17. Box Drive - Add Support for .pst Files

    While .pst files are visible from Box's web client, they are not visible from Box Drive. This results in an inability to connect .pst files from Box to Outlook, and is preventing us from rolling out Box across our enterprise.

  18. Support Drag & Drop from Box Web App to Outlook

    Please enable the ability to drag and drop files FROM Box Web App TO Outlook email client (including the option to insert them as links OR to add them as normal attachments). Currently there is no native Drag and Drop functionality available between the Box Web App and Outlook. Therefore, the process to add file attachments/links to emails via the Web App or Outlook Plug-In is actually currently LESS efficient with BOX than without it.     Currently there is an opportunity for Shared Links with a password to be brute force broken, as there are not any controls in place to disable after unsuccessful attempts. Two options to handle this are:
    - Implement the configuration in the Shared Link Password protection option to set the number of unsuccessful attempts
    - Implement an audit event that documents an unsuccessful Shared Link Password attempt, so that a custom implementation can monitor the unsuccessful attempts, and react accordingly.
