1. Allow Conditional Splits in Box Automate to reliably check file extension or file type

   It would be very useful for Box Automate Conditional Splits to have a reliable condition for a file's actual extension or file type.

   For example, I need to route files automatically:

   .wav / .aif → Audio folder
   .mov / .mp4 → Video folder
   Everything else → Unsorted

   I initially tried using the file name with conditions such as “contains .wav” or “contains .mp4,” but these conditions did not work reliably. I eventually had to look for specific words contained in our filenames instead, which is much less flexible and depends on users following a particular naming convention.

   Ideally, Conditional Splits would provide properties such as:

   File Extension
   File Type / MIME Type
   operators such as is, is one of, or ends with

   This would make it possible to reliably route files based on their actual format without relying on filename conventions.

   This would be especially useful inside For Each / Loop actions, where each current file could be routed according to its own file type.

   It would be very helpful to have the ability to copy or duplicate a Conditional Split, including all of its branches and conditions.

   When building multiple workflows with the same routing logic, users currently have to recreate every condition manually. For example, if a Conditional Split checks for .wav, .aif, .mov, .mp4, and other file types, the same logic has to be rebuilt from scratch in each workflow.

   A “Duplicate Conditional Split” option would save a significant amount of time and reduce the chance of errors when recreating complex workflow logic.

   Ideally, duplicating the split would preserve:

   All branches
   All conditions
   AND/OR logic
   Variable selections
   Branch names

   This would be especially useful for workflows that use the same routing structure in different folders or projects.

3. Limit the amount of data a user can delete

   There have been repeated incidents where users accidentally delete large amounts of data from Box Drive. Each time, administrators are required to restore the data.
   However, administrators cannot restore the data until the deletion process is fully completed, and even then, the restoration takes as much time as the deletion, which disrupts business operations.

   We would like to set an upper limit on the amount of data that users (other than Box administrators and co-administrators) can delete at one time, in order to prevent users from accidentally deleting large amounts of data.

   Requesting the ability to act as another Box user when requesting a signature on a document. Use case is where an executive needs a doc for signature, and their admin generates that request on the exec's behalf -- the exec name holds more weight, so the ability for that admin to be granted extended Sign privileges to be able to send a request as if they were the exec. This is similar to Zoom's scheduling privileges where a user can schedule meetings as a "delegate" of another user (and the meeting invite looks as if it was coming from the user themselves, vs as the delegate).

9. Enhanced Detail when an upload fails and notification of upload failure sends out.

   When an email upload fails, there is no level of detail associated with the notification sent from Box. It would be extremely helpful to be notified of exactly which upload or folder location of the failure that occured.

10. "Show in Finder" Option for Box Drive

    Hello Box Team,

    I'd like to request a feature that would improve the desktop experience for Mac users of Box Drive.

    Feature: A "Show in Finder" option, available via right-click (or a toolbar button) on any file or folder within the Box desktop app and web interface. Selecting it would open Finder with the corresponding local file pre-selected.
    Why this would help: Many users work across both Box and local file management tools, particularly when handling multiple synced folders or nested project structures. Currently, there's no direct way to jump from a file in Box to its exact location on the Mac filesystem, so users have to search for it manually. Competing services like Dropbox and Google Drive already offer this functionality, and adding it to Box would bring the desktop experience up to par while saving users time.

    Box Mobile should support HTML rendering, consistent with the Box web experience.
    Without mobile rendering, users must download files, open another application, or wait until they can access a desktop browser.

12. Pin, Save, and Organize Box AI Sessions for Reuse

    Let us pin, favorite, or save Box AI session conversations so we can get to them more quickly. Perhaps even let us organize them within Collections.

    We can currently search and browse our session history, but for those sessions we need to come back to frequently, the ability to favorite them or add them to a collection would let us get to them more efficiently.

14. Separate the LLM disablement settings for Box Agents and Custom Agents

    With the recent release (Admin model controls for the Box Agent), disabling an LLM also makes it unavailable for selection when creating a custom agent in AI Studio. However, there are cases where customers want to remove an LLM from the models available for Box Agent while still allowing it to be used in custom agents for specific scenarios.

15. Reflect Web "Home Page" (Account Settings) setting in the iOS/iPadOS app

    Please improve the Box app for iPhone/iPad so that the "Home Page" setting
    configured under [Account Settings] > [Home Page] on the web app (e.g.
    setting Collections as the landing view) is also applied when logging in
    via the iOS/iPadOS app.

    Currently, the "All Files" view is shown by default on mobile regardless
    of this setting. For users who collaborate on many folders, this makes
    the first screen after login cluttered and harder to navigate, especially
    compared to the web experience where a curated Home Page can be set.

    Aligning this behavior between web and mobile would let users land on
    their preferred view (e.g. Collections) consistently across devices,
    improving usability for anyone managing a large number of folders.

    When Folder Settings → Privacy → Hide collaborators and their activity from non-owners is enabled, Editors, Viewers, and Previewers see “Someone” in the UPDATED column instead of the real person who last updated a file or folder.

    We need to retain this privacy setting because limited-access users must not be able to see:

    The collaborator list

    Other collaborator names

    Viewer or previewer names

    Recent-activity avatars

    Content Insights or Access Stats

    Download, preview, or view activity

    However, they need to see the identity of the single user who most recently updated each item in the folder list.

    Please add a separate Folder Privacy option such as:

    “Show last updated by name to non-owners”

    This option should affect only the file/folder list’s UPDATED field. It must not reveal the collaborator list, historic activity, viewer/previewer identities, access statistics, Insights, comment authors, or Version History contributors.

17. Preventing Log Loss Caused by Delayed Events in the Events API

    We use the Box Events API to send event logs to Sumo Logic.
    We are currently experiencing recurring cases where events that appear in the User Activity Report in the Box Admin Console are not present in the Box event logs collected by Sumo Logic.

    We asked Sumo Logic to investigate this issue. They explained that the Box Source continuously retrieves events using the position information returned by the Events API. However, there may be a delay between the time an action occurs in Box and the time the corresponding event becomes available through the API. If a delayed event is later added to a range that has already been processed, it may no longer be retrieved.

    We have observed this behavior in our environment, where some events appear in the User Activity Report but cannot be found in Sumo Logic.
    Because we send these event logs to Sumo Logic for auditing and security purposes, we would appreciate an enhancement that ensures delayed events can also be retrieved without being missed.
    Please consider improving the Events API so that events can be retrieved reliably during continuous log collection.

18. Export or download a snapshot of current admin configuration

    Provide a method, by web UI or by API, to download or export a human-readable comprehensive snapshot of the current admin configuration.

    Problems this would solve:
    1. When working with Box Support, admins now may have to self-report current configuration state. This process is subject to human error. Instead, an exported snapshot would allow admins to provide an inherently valid representation of the current state.
    2. Today, Box Reporting can produce records of change events, but for the admin tracking these, there's no record of the prior state. With this new feature, admins could archive point-in-time snapshots of the state in commodity version control systems. This would provide the ability to "time travel" to inspect any prior state for which a snapshot exists.

    This snapshot should capture all settings and text box input within Enterprise Settings and also for additionally-licensed products like Box Shield.

    Optionally, allow export of settings on just a single tab.

    Optionally, if Box allows the import and commitment of prior snapshots, this would allow for quick reversion of even complex changes as long as a pre-change snapshot is available. One way to implement this would be to prompt for human confirmation before any individual updates are committed based on such an import.

20. We need to control the ability for external individuals to access the online Box document upload only during business hours.

    We need to restrict external users' ability to access the online Box document upload to business hours only. The thought is the admin controls should a) allow for the parameters to be set (M-F 9am-4pm, federal holidays excluded), and b) allow a custom message to be displayed outside of those hours/days.
