  1. Tables - Ability to Copy a Row and Paste into a Table in A Different Box Note

Requesting ability to copy a Box Note row and paste into another Box Note table (preserving formatting and links). Currently, you can paste into a new table this way, not an existing table in our testing.

Rationale: Ease of use, consistent ability to cut and paste

  2. Ability for users to track activity

In the Closed configuration ,Only admins and co-admins can track activity on the files listed at the URLs below.
    Users cannot be tracked.
If users can export reports, they can perform on themselves statistical analysis.
As a result, it becomes possible to actively use Box.
So I want users to be included in the targets that can be exported.

  3. Provide read-only scope for user information

I'd like to provide our central identity management team a way to tell whether or not a given Box user has a > 0 byte usage before they delete the user's account (for example, as someone leaves our organization). I'd like to give them read-only API access to https://api.box.com/2.0/users, without giving them any additional access. Support tells me that this isn't currently possible. It'd be nice if it was--this could be useful for a number of other uses, too, such as reporting.

  4. Able to get Box user ID by querying the username

Hi, currently in order to find a box user id for ONE user, we need to use
    https://developer.box.com/reference#get-all-users-in-an-enterprise
to get ALL users and then filter for the specific user.

If would be nice if we can simply query a user's box user id by the username.

There is an optional parameter called `filter_term` which can be used to retrieve a user on the basis of the name or login. See link below and a snippet from the dev docs.
    https://developer.box.com/reference/get-users/#param-filter_term

    `filter_term`
Limits the results to only users who’s name or login start with the search term.

For externally managed users, the search term needs to completely match the in order to find the user, and it will only return one user at a time.

  5. Unmanaged User feature should be more prominent (UX tweak)

It would be helpful if the Unmanaged Users management feature was more prominent. when trying to add a new managed user, if a matching unmanaged user already exists, an error is displayed and no other information given. I had to fumble to figure out why, partly because the feature isn't obvious. Suggestion: change the External Users tab name to External & Unmanaged Users, and add an Unmanaged Users button next to External users. Or, simply display them all but with the unmanaged users highlighted somehow. It is non-intuitive partly because external is interpreted…

  6. Add Sort by 'Status' Option to Managed Users Page

Add the ability to sort by user status (active, inactive, cannot edit & delete, cannot upload edit & delete) to the Managed User page in the Admin Console.

    not planned  ·  katiele responded

We are re-designing the managed users page and will focus on adding advanced filtering of managed users by status as a follow up. Right now, releasing the re-design will be our first priority, so filtering by status is not on the near-term
(6 month) roadmap. We will revisit this after we release the new page.

  7. Ability to manage suppression lists

Administrator not able monitor and allow to release own User from Suppression List is a big not good (Cause we won’t know if anyone being accidentally suppress. Till next time User alert and we check to email Spam, check external Mail Security than last check to BOX). When User being capture and put under Suppression List can the system send Administrator notification message and preview and/or release; instead log case check to BOX Support??!

We are excited to introduce Suppression List Management for Administrator, a solution designed to streamline the process of handling suppression lists with ease.

Previously, customers had to reach out to Product Support to solve the problem with Notification delivery. With this new feature, Box Administrators can remove Users from the Suppression List without the need to contact the Box Support team. This feature will be available in the Admin Console under the Notification tab.

  8. User access provisioning

Currently when provisioning folder access for users, the console looks messy with every item listed and 'none' shown next to the granted access - it would be more helpful to only show what they have access to and their level of access. Adding access to a new folder that exists could be done with a dropdown search box

  9. Add a flag to enable/disable end-user collaboration emails

Currently, collaboration emails are only sent to the service account. Admins should be able to enable/disable whether their end users also receive collaboration emails when added to a Box for Salesforce integration folder, as workflows may depend on being notified that this folder exists/has been shared with an end user.

  10. A feature that allows the user who sent the message by "Send Shared Link

Share > Shared Link - Send Shared Link "ON" > Messages (optional)
A feature that allows the user who sent this to check the messages sent in the past.
e.g. The message is output to the report.

Currently, there is no corresponding feature, so we are thinking of adding my own (sender's) email address to the recipient.

  11. Easily identify folders owned by an individual user via Content Manager

I have a need to determine what folders are owned by a certain person and wanted to know the easiest way to get that information. When viewing under Content Manager I see all the folders the person has access to but cannot filter it for the one she owns. I also tried running the Folders and Files report but am getting an error.

For example, I need to look up all folders owned by one user in order to change them after a name change.

  12. View saved reports generated by other users

Currently, a co-admin can view reports run by other users, but not save reports created by other users. We would like our IT Service Desk to create on demand monthly reports that we would provide to some of our content owners. This would require all members of our IT Service Desk to have visibility over all existing scheduled reports

  13. prevent saving files on local disk to folders that the user does not have access to.

Prevent saving files on local disk to folders that the user does not have access to. At present just a warning pops up but non-tech-savvy users don't know what to do with that, and the errant files can only be found by logging in as that user on that particular machine. If there was some way to not allow invalid local saves it would be very helpful!

  14. Salesforce integration to support Salesforce platform user licenses

The Box for Salesforce integration installation guide and FAQ state that the integration only works if Salesforce users have a full "Salesforce" user license. This is a deal breaker for many organizations that have Salesforce users with the more affordable Salesforce "Platform" user license.

Since the integration supports custom Salesforce objects, I don't see why the full Salesforce licenses would be required for each user. I would understand if the integration user (Box service account) needs a full Salesforce license, but individual users should be able to use this integration with a Salesforce platform license. Platform…

  15. Filter unmanaged users who have not been collaborated in the user detail report.

    Content:
Currently, the user detail report cannot filter unmanaged users who have not been collaborated,
and it is necessary to check while cross-referencing with the user list on the Users and Groups screen.
Additionally, the unmanaged user list on the Users and Groups screen can take up to 24 hours to reflect changes,
which may cause discrepancies with the information at the time of report output, reducing operational efficiency.
I request the implementation of a feature that can filter unmanaged users who have not been collaborated.

  16. Allow Shared folders to be owned by Domain ( vs user)

Similar to Google's Shared Drives, allowing admins to set ownership of a shared drive at the domain level vs user (human or service) would minimize the need for Service Accounts or changing ownership as users leave the company.

  18. We would like the ability to @mention users invited via groups.

A user can only invite users to folders via group. At present, if a user is invited via a group, they cannot @mention this user.

  19. Customize Collaborator Permission Levels

Any chance that we can have some flexibility in the "Collaborator Permission Levels." Can we develop a tool to edit these levels, like check which function the user can have. Having set levels with no flexibility is difficult because every user needs different access.
