Current Edge(not Chromium based) is not able to upload hidden files and shortcuts by using the Upload Folders feature due to browser limitation.Enterprises who have a policy to only allow the usage of the legacy version of Microsoft Edge. Therefore, cannot back up hidden files to Box

Generate Shared Links as a Relay Outcome
Would like the ability to automate generating shared links on files within Box Relay as an outcome. One use case for this would be to create a process for generating external shared links. Many security-conscience customers don't want everyone to have the ability to shared content externally without some sort of approval or oversight. If we added generating and sharing shared links as an outcome in Relay we could build approval flows that would allow users to get approval to share a file externally even if they don't have the access do so.

Right now, Box's search engine is kinda useless
So, i contacted Box through chat to ask why the search engine wasn't looking for the specific input i searched for, and among other things i was told that the engine will look for files/folders which match ANY of the words in your input and has no capability of looking for files containing ALL of the words searched for which most search engine have, be it web search or OS search.
So, here's the problem, we have around 10.000 files uploaded to box, and lots of them share several words which indicate the client's name or what the file…

Ability to overwrite original file with the signed file
Allow for the signed file to overwrite the original file. Access permissions would need to be set. Unsigned document can be access from Version history.

Ability to open a file in Box Drive from a shared link accessed via the web
After opening a shared link in Web App, a user should be able to open the file directly in Box Drive.

Change the file lock icon back to red
After the Shield File and Folder Badges update, the file lock icon changed from red to grey.

When are you going to bring back file aliases? Bookmarks are not the same and don't cut it.
We need to be able to create symlink/aliases for files in multiple locations so that we aren't forced to upload a file multiple times, in several folders.
We use Box to allow our clients to download files, and we sort those in a way that makes sense for them. We also use Box to upload all of our files in a way that makes sense for our employees to find assets. Without symlinks/aliases this is tedious to do and ridiculous to manage.

Box for Office - Access to Collections
Now that we can organise our files in Box using Collections, it would be good to be able to access this functionality in the Office Apps. This is 'mainly' relevant to the Outlook Box add-in that comes as part of Box for Office for when you want to save to Box or insert from Box.
Excel/Word/PowerPoint - I would argue that the best experience is opening from Edge/Chrome using Box Edit.26 votes -
I have several reviewers that need independent approve/reject in parallel (simultaneously) rather than serially.
We have 5 reviewers for a task, each having different elements they are responsible for reviewing. Currently we can require they each approve independently, however if one rejects the task is ended for all, regardless of whether they've reviewed it or not, approved it or not.
We need 100% independent approve/reject

Ability to drag files and folders from Box to local folders
We would like to be able to drag and drop content from our online Box Account within the browser to our desktop/to folders on our desktop.

File-level Collaboration Webhook
I'd like to create a file-level webhook so that I can take action when a file's collaboration(s) have changed, but unfortunately there is currently no webhook trigger for collaborations on a file. Please add support for COLLABORATION.* webhook triggers on file objects.
13 votesThanks for the suggestion! We don’t currently plan to add a Webhook event for file-level collaboration events, but if anything changes we will update this suggestion. If you have specific use cases to share, please add them as comments to this suggestion.

Include annotations when downloading a file
Currently, if there are annotations on a file, these are not downloaded when the file is downloaded from Box.

excel online previewer for Box Platform
We want to user the Excel online previewer for Box Platform as well.
We are able to open excel files with Excel online previewer when we access from Box.com.

Save/set file sort preferences. E.g., by "name, ascending." Set different sort preferences for different folders + universal sort preference setting.

Box Drive Warning When File Path is too Long
There is a known issue with Box Drive that if a file path is exceeds a character count limit, then the file cannot be opened on desktop, however it can be opened via Box on the web. The issue is, when a user has a file on their desktop, that has a current file path within the character count limits, then moves the file to Box Drive within Windows Explorer and the new path in box exceeds the character limits. COPY / MOVE API events to include origin file's ID, name and location
Currently there is no way to know which file was copied/moved in Box Events API. It is only possible to see the destination file name and location, and only if the file was copied/moved within one Box instance. This presents a major challenge for customers who want to build custom programs that monitor copy/move activity both inside and outside their Box instances.

Locating who/when files are Moved/Removed (accidentally or on purpose)
If a user moves/renames/removes files, the URLs shouldn't simply be dead links now. Please record information so that impacted users know When the file was moved/removed, and WHO did the action.
I recently had Box Notes and Folders get moved or removed. And while I know who SHOULD have been the owner of the content, anyone else having problems finding the content wouldn't know who to contact.
So if a box link was previously valid, and that content has moved or removed, leaving some breadcrumb for the user, about who to contact, when the content was moved/removed, etc, can…2 votes
