1. Invite Box Groups from Another Tenant

   Currently, when inviting users who belong to a different tenant to our tenant, each user must be invited individually. This process is time-consuming and inefficient.
   We would like the ability to invite users from another tenant by group, rather than having to invite them one by one.

   Shield Access Policy Settings to include the possibility to restrict the use of AI on content. That would prevent using AI on files containing PII, or other files including sensitive content in particular when using Box AI in Box Hubs.

3. Regarding cross-file search within Box using the Box AI Agent for Copilot

   We used Box AI Agent for Copilot to perform a cross-folder search across all folders in Box to which we have access (including subfolders) and to generate a ranking of the top file updaters. However, the search results were limited to files located directly under root-level folders, and files within subfolders were not included in the search scope. Since Copilot is able to perform cross-folder searches across all folders when searching SharePoint, we would appreciate it if a similar cross-folder search capability, including subfolders, could be implemented in Box AI Agent for Copilot.

4. Enable Sharing Box Automate Workflows with User Groups

   Currently, Box Automate workflows can be shared with individual users. We would like to request an enhancement that enables workflows to be shared with user groups.
   This feature would reduce reliance on specific individuals and support team-based workflow management. In situations where the workflow owner leaves the company, changes roles, or becomes unavailable, other members of the group could continue to manage and maintain the workflow without disruption. This would improve operational continuity and reduce administrative overhead.

5. Request for a Report Listing Groups and Their Members

   The [Group] report has been released, and it is now more convenient since we can check the list of groups.

   However, it would be even more useful for inventory/cleanup purposes if we could see a list of the members belonging to each group.

   We are currently recording group member lists manually, so we are looking forward to the release of a feature that allows us to export both the list of groups and their members all at once in a report.

6. Allow Box AI Home Global Agent to take the same actions as Box MCP (i.e. feature/permission parity)

   Currently, Box MCP (with Claude/ChatGPT/etc) can create, rename, move folders and files in Box, and many other things. It would be good to be able to accomplish the same simply by instructing Box AI (via Box AI Home, or the Box AI Agent step in Box Automate).

7. Implementation of stable access to external shared links (such as app.box.com) in BVE-enabled environments (ent.box.com)

   Currently, when accessing external shared links (app.box.com) from a BVE-enabled environment (ent.box.com), the browser login session is not always properly maintained, and Box may temporarily fail to recognize the user’s account.
   When shared links are used regularly in business operations, having to log in again or switch browsers each time places a significant burden on users and negatively affects productivity.

   Please ensure that users can access external shared links (app.box.com) reliably from BVE-enabled environments without session interruptions or the need to log in again.
   Additionally, please prevent errors caused by differences between app.box.com and ent.box.com.

8. I want to save Copilot for Microsoft 365-generated content directly to Box

   Currently, when I use Copilot’s generative AI features, the only default save destination is OneDrive—Box isn’t even an option. For those of us who live and breathe Box it would be fantastic if we could save Copilot-generated content directly to Box and keep everything in one place.

   Right now, every time Copilot asks, “Save to OneDrive?” I feel like saying, “Nice try, Copilot, but my heart belongs to Box!” Please help us Box fans avoid this daily heartbreak and make Box a first-class citizen for Copilot saves. Thank you!

9. Regarding the time it takes for scheduled reports to be generated

   Content: The Box support site mentions that report generation can take up to 12 hours.
   　　　　Most reports are usually generated within a few minutes to a few tens of minutes, but scheduled reports often take about 12 hours to be output.
   　　　　Although it is within the expected range, waiting half a day for the output affects business operations, so we request a functional improvement to shorten the time it takes for reports to be generated.

10. Redesigning Box Drive to Be More Resilient Against Ransomware Attacks

    Due to the nature of Box Drive, once a ransomware attack occurs, it is easy for the damage to spread laterally, and the reality is that some companies with specific security requirements are unable to adopt it.
    Of course, certain countermeasures can be implemented through the adoption of Shield Pro, the purchase of third-party products, or restoration operations. However, all of these require additional costs, and companies are often unwilling to approve them.
    Please reconsider the architecture so that the native Box Drive becomes more resilient against ransomware attacks.

11. Admin controls for the Solutions menu

    We would like Box Admins to have the ability to manage the Solutions menu in the Box web app.

    The Solutions menu can create confusion because it allows end users to contact Box Consulting directly, which may bypass internal IT, helpdesk, procurement, or governance processes.

    Please consider adding admin controls to either:

    1) Enable or disable the Solutions menu for the enterprise
    2) Replace the default Box Consulting contact path with an internal helpdesk or support contact, similar to the support contact email setting in Admin Console (Custom Settings)

    This would help to route end user inquiries through the right internal channels while still allowing access to Solutions where appropriate.

12. Request for Hubs Version History Feature

    Customer Pain Point & Concern:
    Our customer is highly concerned about the risk of editors accidentally deleting or overwriting pages or sections within Hubs. Currently, there is no built-in version control or version history feature for Hubs (similar to what is available in Box Notes). As a workaround to prepare a backup plan, they are currently forced to take manual, regular backups by copying content, which has proven to be extremely tedious and inefficient.

    Requested Feature:

    Version History for Hubs: A feature similar to Box Notes that allows users to view, restore, and revert to older versions of Hubs pages and sections.
    This is a critical requirement for this large-scale customer to ensure secure content management and operational efficiency. We would highly appreciate it if this could be considered for the product roadmap.

13. Show the date the classification label was applied for items uploaded by external users.

14. Security & Governance Risk Caused by Retained Collaborations After Folder Moves

    To help prevent unintended external access to internal-only content and strengthen data governance, we would like to request a feature that either controls collaboration inheritance when folders are moved or restricts folder moves within designated folder hierarchies.

    In the current Box environment, my understanding is that when a folder is moved, any collaborations directly assigned to that folder are retained.

    This behavior may lead to situations where folders with different access policies become mixed within the same hierarchy. For example, a folder collaborated with external users could be moved into a directory intended exclusively for internal use. As a result, external collaborators may continue to have access within an area that is expected to be restricted to internal users only. We believe this introduces a potential security and governance risk.

    To help mitigate this risk, we would like to request consideration of one of the following options:

    A configurable setting that automatically removes existing collaborations when a folder is moved.
    A configurable setting that prevents folders and their entire descendant folder tree from being moved under specified parent folders.
    More generally, administrative controls that allow organizations to enforce folder placement and collaboration governance policies when folder moves occur.

    We understand that similar requests have previously been discussed on Box Pulse and were not adopted, partly due to concerns regarding the complexity of collaboration changes and the volume of user notifications that could be generated when folders are moved.

    However, we have not found any recent discussions addressing this concern. Given the increasing importance of data governance and the prevention of unintended external access, we would appreciate it if Box could reconsider this capability.

    Additionally, we are not necessarily requesting these specific approaches. Any solution that achieves an equivalent level of risk mitigation would be equally appreciated.

15. If there is only one app which can open a file, let the “open” button call that app.

    Having to click the “open” button to hit the “open” button is infuriating. Perhaps, consider just opening the file when I click on it from the list and skipping this entire step all together? Skipping this page would be especially helpful when the preview does not reflect the current state of the document.

16. Box Search Returns Partial-Match Results — Unable to Search for Exact Folder/File Name Only

    Summary: When a user searches for a term in Box that is also a substring of another folder or file name, Box returns both the exact match and the partial matches in the search results. There is currently no way to perform an exact-match-only search in Box, which makes it difficult for users to isolate specific content when similarly named items exist.

    Problem Description: Box search uses partial/substring matching by default. When a user types a search term, Box returns all items whose names contain that term — not just items whose names exactly equal the term. This behavior cannot be overridden by the end user through the UI or any available search syntax.

    Example Scenario: A user has a collaborated folder containing the following two subfolders:

    データ移行 (Data Migration)
    When the user searches for "データ", both folders appear in the search results. The user only wants to find the folder named exactly "データ", but there is no way to exclude "データ移行" from the results using Box's current search functionality.

17. IP Address Restriction for Webapp and SELECTED API calls

    We want to enable IP address restrictions only for the web app and selected applications.
    Possible methods include submitting a list of client IDs exempt from restrictions during application, or providing a UI to specify an app list excluded from IP address restrictions.

    Currently, only the following two options are available.
    - Enable only for Webapp
    - Enable for Webapp and All API calls

    What we truly want is to apply IP address restrictions to the web app and BoxDrive. However, selecting “All APIs” renders nearly all other cloud-based integration apps unusable.
    For example, losing integrations that significantly boost productivity—like Salesforce, Zoom, or Box connectors for Zapier and n8n—is a major issue. While we could ask providers for their IP addresses and allowlist them all, maintaining a list of potentially changing IP addresses is impossible.
    Box itself recommends setting rules by domain in its firewall configuration support article, acknowledging IP addresses can change.

    The reason IP address restrictions via SSO cannot solve this is that they cannot prevent scenarios where employees authenticate internally, then take their device outside and access the company Box from an unspecified access point. Box's own IP address restrictions are powerful because they can prevent this, and it is essential to configure them to work alongside various integrations.

    We want to enable IP address restrictions only for the web app and selected applications.
    Possible methods include submitting a list of client IDs exempt from restrictions during application, or providing a UI to specify an app list excluded from IP address restrictions.

    Currently, only the following two options are available.
    - Enable only for Webapp
    - Enable for Webapp and All API calls

18. Loop through folders in a folder, and other lists of IDs/strings in a Box Automate workflow

    hi team. any thoughts on when we'll be able to loop through folders?

    (the ability to loop over files in a folder is good, and would be even better if we could have that within a loop that loops over folders)

    some use cases:

    • customers wanting to process files (i.e. move, rename, MDE) in folder trees, involving multiple levels of folders in the tree, and some but not all folders should be included excluded

    • customers wanting to bulk process folders - e.g. loop through folders in folders in folders, and then move/delete empty folders

    • loop through folders and validate certain metadata attributes, for example, whether the case is closed or open or ongoing, and that would then move the folder to an appropriate archive,

19. Exclude Specific Content from Box AI

    As a law firm we need to segregate certain client data from the ability to use Box AI due to legal agreements in place with their clients to not be able to use AI on their data. Currently we would need to turn off Box AI on the whole account in order to achieve this requirement, which is not ideal.

20. Function to disable the display of the login authentication screen for Box for Microsoft Office co-editing features on a per-user basis.

    To avoid displaying the login authentication screen, we understand that enabling the co-editing feature for only certain users in the tenant settings will resolve the issue.
    However, if the number of users enabling or disabling the co-editing feature increases, managing user and group additions or removals through tenant settings each time becomes extremely cumbersome and impractical.
    Implementing this feature enables end users to handle issues immediately on their own, reducing the burden on administrators.

    ログイン認証画面を表示させないためには、テナント設定で一部のユーザーにのみ共同編集機能を有効にすれば回避できると認識しています。
    但し、共同編集機能を有効/無効にするユーザーが増えたりした場合に都度テナント設定からの制限ではユーザーやグループの出し入れ等の操作が非常に手間となり現実的ではありません。
    本機能を実装することでエンドユーザー自身で即時に対応できるようになり管理者の負担を減らすことができます。
