Trying to migrate away from One Note to Box notes. Hence need a client that works with Linux. Specifically debian.
91 votesThank you for the feedback. Adding a Box Notes client for Linux it is not aligned with our prioritization for the year, but we will let you know if anything changes.

Add Linux to Web app QA process
The web app UX is horrible on Linux. It's not just one bug, but dozens of bugs that affect Linux and ChromeOS users.
Examples:
- Downloading a Docx will prompt you to open with Word instead
- Clicking Open will prompt you to install Box Tools
- Clicking install Box Tools will download an EXE fileAll of these are completely irrelevant and an annoying hurdle for Linux users. Box Tools for linux doesn't exist. Linux Users can't run EXE files. Open With Word doesn't make ANY sense, as Word doesn't exist for Linux.
Please fix.
46 votesThank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, we do not have plans to add support for Linux to the web app at this time. We’ll continue to monitor this thread to gauge interest, and will post updates should our plans change in the future.

Linux version of Box Sync
I'd really like to have help keeping files synchronized between my Linux and Windows workstations. Linux Box Sync would be great.

Instructions for installing cli on Linux
Why don't you at least include some guidance on https://developer.box.com/docs/box-cli regarding where to start if you are using Linux? I have been unable to effectively use my box account since the webdav support ended, and every so often take another stab at it. It would be nice if this page at least pointed to the best resources for installing on Linux, rather than just giving a link to the download pages.

The CLI installation for Linux is available at CLI quick start guide

Add Linux installer packages for Box CLI
Testing out the Box CLI and request official Linux support for Ubuntu or RHEL. Would like an easy install via apt-get or Yum.

Please add Linux to the support for Box.
【Background】
As we use many Linux servers, the total size of the log files is also large.
Please add Linux as supported, as we want to save the log files stored on the Linux server to the Box.【Request】
Box does not support Linux.
In the past it was possible to access the Box via WebDAV, but this is no longer supported.
Please add Linux to the support for Box.
It would be preferable if it could be mounted like WebDav.
If the folder on the Box can be mounted on Linux, the application can simply change the…11 votes -
Allow the use of Linux devices as approved devices.
We had Linux based user using Box web console and as of the July update, they are no longer able to access Box. I would like to see Linx OS be added to the approved Operating Systems list in the Admin Console for enterprise settings.

Provide a sync client for Linux - like Dropbox, Nextcloud etc has.
When logging in to the shared area I've been invited to, I get a pop-up telling me to complete my set up by downloading the sync-client. But, there is no sync client for Linux to be found, at the download page.

Provide a FUSE (Filesystem in userspace) handler for Box Linux and other *nix support
Linux, and other operating systems, have a mechanism for vendors to provide transparent filesystem access to esoteric file storage mechanisms in userspace, without the need to write a kernel module using "FUSE" (Filesystem in Userspace).
Box would only need to write a FUSE handler, and then that'd open up access to a lot of *nixes.

Add support for File name sensitivity
Box currently doesn’t support the notion of file sensitive file and directory names like Linux does, so backups to Box, for example with rclone, lose similarly named files that only vary in case.
For example, you can only have File1.txt and file1.txt, but no both in Box.
In comparison, there’s no such limitation in Google Drive and Linux file systems, for example.
Please add support for file name sensitivity.

Bring back WebDav support
Please bring back WebDav support. It had better performance than Box Drive or Sync and was easier to setup for Linux or Windows.

git-like ‘RAW’ mode for Box Notes
When I have a Boxnote with a trailing backslash (’\’) a copy-and-paste into an xterm (Linux X11, Mac OS Xquartz), it converts the backslash to a control character.
When I copy a Boxnote with a backslash I get the following:
“”“
!/bin/env bash
echo “Hello World!” \
<A0>“The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”
“”“And the string ‘<A0>’ is highlighted.
It appears to me that Boxnote is interpreting a backslash at the end of a line as a ‘backslash<A0>’ when copy-pasted into an Xterm using vim. I tested the placement by putting a backslash in the…

Ability to perform file operation through directory command prompt
File operation by operating by command prompt.
Is there any way to operate the files and metadatas from the pointed directory?
As far as I heard from SE, the answer was "no".
For example, extract all the metadata in each filed from the pointed filename expantion and from the pointed directory by one command.
It will be great if we could use this Box Drive by operating like linux or command prompt.1 vote -
Meine Daten herunterladen
I want Japanese mark of a voiced sound in speech characters to be unified with NFC.
I want Japanese mark of a voiced sound in speech characters to be unified with NFC.
-Overview-
example: the 'ga' syllabary series in the Japanese alphabet
'ガ'is U+30AC on windows or unix/linux
