Present metadata more prominent when selecting a file from a folder file list
Metadata will be shown for a selected file in the lowest level of the Details area. Practically no user knows that metadata exists for that file. So metadata should be presented more prominent, or get an extra area.

Box Sign - Get a Copy option should be logged in the User Activity Log
Box Sign, but it appears that cases set to "Get a Copy" are not logged in the User Activity Report. From an administrative standpoint, this is a problem, and we would like to see the report improved so that it can be logged.
Setting a copy to one's private email address or to the email address of a colluding third party is dangerous from a security standpoint because it allows the information to be retrieved from the box without being logged.
Box Sign's signature log is not a solution to the problem, as it can be erased with authorization.

Enhanced Locking Experience on Sync (mimic file server experience) - Auto-Lock & Unlock
Adapt the Box Sync / Box for Desktop lock/unlock experience to mimic the standard locking UX that users are familiar with from Windows file servers.
Example screenshot from file server UX: https://cloud.box.com/s/4px71vfralrlpnj6x9sdeoquyxdellg6Key Components:
-Pop-up upon double-clicking a file to ask user if they'd like to check out (lock) a file or open a read-only version
-Auto-unlock upon closing the file30 votesWe currently do not have any new features planned for Box Sync. This is something that is under consideration for Box Drive. Please see that request here: https://pulse.box.com/admin/v3/suggestions/35983087/.

View all shared links for a user
Similar to the ability to view favorites and trash on the left-hand side, a view to see current shared links with columns for date shared, date expiring, and who can view it (anyone, company, collaborators)

Make changes and collaboration within BoxNotes more obvious: show when users have made changes, show deleted content/versions, etc.
Differences: show changes for a particular time period. e.g., Smartsheet lets you see changes for the last day, week, month, year, etc.
Differences: show changes for particular users; maybe a different color for each user or some popup or marker next to the line showing who made the changes
Differences doesn't show anything that was deleted. I suppose since there's nothing to highlight. Perhaps consider keeping the text with a strikethrough or perhaps an indicator on that line to show/hide the text that was deleted11 votes -
Canvas feature improvements
After trying Canvas it looks like in order to get more use out of this compared to other open white board on the market it really does need allow more flexibility and improvements such as:
- Ability to allow GIF's for presentations.
- Allow links/ bookmark to files within box within a text box.
- Allow preview box of a video or crop a video within box to show a snippet of the video for presentation.
- Allow a preview link/ bookmark to Audio file to play.
- Currently drawn notes or shapes only allow corners to expand, it would help to add in side…

"Feature Requests for API Enhancements: Folder/Event Details, Access Dates, Upload-Email Modifications, External User Details"
Feature Requests, ordered by priority (if anything is not clear please communicate with Noam):
In copy/move/rename events, the API should include the id of both the target and origin locations (from-to)
In file/folder get info API, the last access date of the file and folder should be provided (in addition to the modify date)
A new event type for modification of upload-email properties, such as access type (in addition to the existing enable/disable events for upload email functionality)
External users – get external users name and id in Get Enterprise Users api (this is currently not working),…

Please Allow an Approval or Denial workflow for Auto Roll-in user creaiton
Please allow for Admins to allow or deny auto roll-in requests.
While I understand we can be notified of user creation and take action from there, it would be more beneficial for organization to approve or deny requests to roll in.
At the very least, allow us the option to block the requests or have a custom message that directs the user to their helpdesk or IT to get the account permissions. This would seriously help us be more secure while avoiding contract violations.

separate owned file/folders view from all files/folders view
We need the ability when viewing a users list of files and folders to show only content owned by user. Right now files that have any collaboration at all do not show differently if owned by user or not. Ideally, we could toggle a view filter to show only files/folders owned by user if needed.

We want users to be able to output a "folder and file" report for each folder.
(Japanese follows English)
Currently, only administrators can output the "Folders and Files" report.
We would like users with editor permissions for the target folder to be able to output a "Folder and File" report for each folder.
At that time, We would like to be able to select whether the report will be output to that folder or the output destination.
49 votes -

Image Shared Link Permissions should Match the Box Note's Shared Link Permission
For example, when a Box Note's shared link is set to 'people with the link', all images in the Box Note should also automatically be updated to be 'people with the link' links.
The current issue is that when I set a Box Note's link to 'people with the link' but my company's shared link default is 'people in your company', all the embedded images in the Box Note are still set to 'people in your company', meaning if a non-authenticated user accesses the 'people with the link' Box Note link, they'll see 'insufficient privileges' for all the images in…
49 votesThank you for the feedback. We understand that the current permissions behavior for Box Notes images is not necessarily intuitive, and are actively looking into ways to improve that user experience. We don’t yet have a timeline for delivery, but will update here when its available.

Export menu of the Access Statistics for non-administrators
【Request】
I would like you to make the access statistics export menu available to non-administrative users.
I think this can be achieved by allowing the user to select the destination folder after clicking the export menu.【Current status and issues】
Currently, only co-administrators or administrators who have the authority to output reports can export access statistics.
General users other than administrators can check the access statistics, but cannot export them to a file. The PR department has voiced the desire to export access statistics to a file.
However, we do not want to give them co-administrator privileges because…25 votes -
access Deny Authority
The permissions of the parent folder are inherited by the subordinate folder, but I want to be able to add a setting to deny access only to specific users or groups in the subordinate folder. Or I want to be able to set the permission settings so that they are not inherited by subordinates. This is a function that can be realized with existing file servers.

Add further columns to Shared Links report
In order to prepare a csv file to bulk update existing shared links, it is necessary to
A) run TWO reports - a BOX USERS Report (CLI command), and a SHARED LINKS ReportIf however, you wish to provide a list of shared links to each Box user who created the link(s), then a THIRD report is needed, a USER ACTIVITY Report (for max years, Items Shared action). This report needs to be filtered to show only the latest date/user that created the link (NB a shared link may be created more than once)
B) then the BOX …

Add new options for "file event" when creating a relay workflow
Please add the option "New version or Updated" when creating a workflow for a "file event". The new upload option doesn't work if we're simply making an update/edit to an existing document.

Greater granularity for co-admin privilages
A co-admin should be able to manage the whitelisted domains for external sharing which is currently only possible by the main admin. Similarly for Shield alerts, only an admin can currently unlock a file. Whilst an admin should be the only one able to change the set up, decide on the alert settings etc a co-admin should be able to manage existing alerts. The lack of granularity of what a co-admin can do makes it difficult to manage as the only alternative is to give co-admins full access to config which isn't a viable option.

Box Hub Image Previews for External Users
Image previews in a Box Hub are not available unless logged in. We love the Box Hubs internally and would love for them to be as helpful and useful for non-users.
