Organize and Move Shared Folders Within Non-Shared Folders
I would like to organize folders that have been shared with me within folders that I myself have created and do not share with others.
54 votesThank you for the suggestion. We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap.
Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

Organize Folders that are shared with me
I use box drive on Mac and my main finder window is cluttered with folders that have been shared with me and there is no way for me to organize these folders. I have 50 folders that I use maybe once a year in the same spot as a folder that I use every day. Being able to rehome those folders off of the main screen would be a huge plus.
Currently it feels like a messy desktop that I have no control over.

Organizing Shared folders. Can't rely on collaborators to do it.
It would be very helpful if I could move shared folders into a "folder" (choose your term for some thing that would mimic a folder) that would allow me to group all shared folders together. Ideally, I would be able to create my own hierarchy within that folder to be able to organize all of the shared folders how I want vs. just having every shared folder cluttering up my Box root level. I know I can use Collections, however, Collections don't show up in Box Drive.

Shared With Me - Folder Management for Collaboration Folders
We would like to have a "Shared with Me" folder for any folders we have been collaborated into.
We continually get feature requests for Box to allow a way to organize content shared with me. For example, I'd like to create a "Shared with me" folder that all the content shared with me could be organized into.
I envision this could happen in one of a few ways and there would need to be some determination how much control the end user has....Option 1:
- Allow end users to check a setting that would create a…562 votesTeam is gathering feedback

Root Folder Organization: Organize folders into personal subfolders even if they are not owners
Requesting ability to move folders shared with you into sub-folders you choose to create & manage (not impacting the true location/hierarchy of the shared folder itself established by the folder owner)
99 votesThe Collections feature solves for this problem by allowing users to manage their collections and naming them in a way that makes sense to them.

Colorized folder icons for externally shared folders
I would like an additional (apart from grey, blue and yellow) color (red?) for folders that are shared with external people.
25 votesAn external indicator exists today as part of the External Access Indicators release via the details sidebar of a folder.

Enable end users to group shared folders
Please enable end users to group shared folders. Sometimes folders are shared with you in piecemeal manner. It would be nice if the end users can group these folders Marie Kondo style.

Color coded shared folders for Box Drive
Need ability to determine what folders have been shared in Box Drive without having to revert back to the Web UI to verify if Blue/Yellow/Grey etc..
308 votesHi there,
This ability is not currently planned but will be revisited in the future. Thanks for sharing your feedback!

Specifying shared folders as destination folders
Currently it’s not possible to select shared folders when choosing a destination folder on Shuttle, and this reduces the number of accounts that can be used in migrations to Box instances using a closed folder structure (i.e., all content centralized in a few accounts).
If it becomes possible to migrate into shared folders, it’d allow the use of more migration accounts that could run more jobs simultaneously and speed up migrations projects.

Create Colorized folder icons for externally shared folders
We would like an additional color (besides grey, blue, yellow) for folders that are shared with external people.
10 votesWe decided to add an external collaboration indicator within details sidebar to solve for indication of external sharing status as introducing colorized icons solely to indicate external sharing status would not be accessible.

Shared links auto-expiration exception for specific folders
Currently, the auto-expiration policy for shared links applies to all folders and files. For shared links on folders, it would be great if we could prevent specific folders from expiring (similar to custom notifications settings on specific folders).
We have a couple of folders that are synced and shared using public links and shouldn't expire.3 votes -
Folder tree organization
No way to archive / organize folders (both shared with and created) on box without just deleting them. I have box on my desktop for work and also use the web portal occasionally. I was unable to move folders (that either were shared with me or i created) into an archived / organized manner within my Box workspace. I asked Box product support and they said it wasn't a feature at this point. I'd like to be able to organize all of the folders that I created and were shared with me without having to delete them, or let…

New Groups UI: Make Shared Folders Page Sortable
Currently the Edit Shared Folders page lists the folders in random order. Admins want the ability to sort by the main columns for groups that have high folder counts.
5 votesWe have made the text for long folder names wrap in the Edit Shared Folders view, so cut off folder names with a company or department prefix should no longer be a problem.
However, we have not made the folders name column on the page sortable and don’t currently have plans to make this sortable.

Custom 'Views' / 'Labels' to Organize Folders in Box
Request: provide the ability for end users to label or categorize folders in order to create different 'views' or 'workspaces' for their folders

Please create navigation to split "shared with me" files and folders from my own files and folders, similar to OneDrive.
Please, please, create a separate view on the web to just showcase files and folders that are shared with me; rather than files/folders that are of my ownership. Similar to what other file storage providers offer, like OneDrive.
19 votesThank you for the feedback here -we are considering various ways to split shared/owned content & are considering this for the future roadmap, but don’t currently have a timeline for this.

Block root shared folder renaming
I found it very disappointing when every user with editor's permissions can rename (and probably even delete) root folders. This is the absolutely most typical scenario with shared folders, and everything from cheapest NAS to Azure Sharepoint can prevent renaming (or worse deleting) root folders.
I really miss the typical R/W user - Editor without permissions to delete/rename the root folder.

Make initial sorting of folders into Collections easier
I have a lot of Box folders shared with me that I cannot organize into broader folders. To help with the initial process of using Collections to organize all of these folders, it would be great if there was a way to view all folders while on the Collections page and they could disappear as you “collect” them so you easily know when you’ve put them all in their various Collections (similar to filing things on File Explorer).

Using folder hierarchy to reduce number of shared folders
It would be great if Box could group by the parent folder if a user is shared more folders from the same parent folder example if i had the following folders
- Projects -> Project A -> Project B -> Project C
If I shared Project A and Project C with a user, it would be better if they saw the following
- Projects -> Project A -> Project C
However if i just share Project A then they would only see this.
This would save having a huge number of folders in the Root of each users account.
Thanks
