Allow preview/editing of Office files other than PW-protected Excel (.xlsx) files.
We feel that the inability to preview/edit PW protected files makes it less convenient.
In order to ensure security, we often assign passwords to not only Excel files, but also to PowerPoint and Word files, and there are many opportunities to collaborate on editing PowerPoint and Word files. Box AI for Hubs - Address # of files in Hub
The Hub functionality works regardless of the number of files available to be viewed from the link(s) listed on the hub page. However, Box AI for Hubs has a restriction of 10,000 files that can be indexed, which includes files that may be nested under the link shown in the hub. Given this, it would be helpful if we could manually disable Box AI for Hubs on specific hubs that we know are indexed for over 10K files so that users do not get an error message on those hubs when they try to use Box AI. Download more than 10,000 files in a single zip
Would it be possible to download more than 10,000 files in a single zip download? We have a use case where we need to download 30,000 files in a single zip.

Box Mobile - Hyperlink files embedded within Excel
While opening linked files within an excel file on the Box mobile application.
This is happening due to the current preview architecture for excel files and nested/linked files within the Box application. Although you can 'see' the desired file visible on the screen, within your current workflow, the Box app only recognizes the original file as being 'opened' which is why the original files are being saved and not the file open currently.

Add Support on Adobe Links Files
Creative teams leverage this the most when they are cross-linking between Adobe files into a master file to consolidate auto-updating and auto-pulling of all the assets coming from all the different files.

Box drive - DIsk full because of "offline files"
The hard drive of my computer is full (or a small free space available) because Box Drive is using a large part of the free space to load files that I don't want to see, they should stay in the cloud. I want to see on my computer only the files that are configured for "Off Line" access. Today there are more than 50 Gbytes on my computer that are useless.
With box sync, I didn't get this issue, it's a new problem specific to box drive.

Treat .todo files as plain text
There is a plugin for Sublime Text that lets you create .todo files for task lists. These are just plain text files so it would be great if they could be previewed and treated as plain text. I'm mainly interested in being able to use the versioning to see the history of these files.

Viewers of watermarked files can download file before previewing it
Owner of folder wants to have users be able to mass download files within watermarked folder. In the current way, user has to preview each file individually before seeing option to download.

Ability to filter recent files by file extension
It would be great to be able to filter files in the Recent Files section by extension, access date, etc. Currently you can't sort anything. My use case was easy. I knew I had access one Excel file one week before but couldn't remember the name nor the real date. instead of scrolling in the whole list, I could have selected "Excel / spreadsheet file" to see only these files for a faster search.

Decrease the line space between each files on the New UI
Hi team ,
I received a feedback from a client that the new UI made the line spacing bigger and would like to make the line space to decrease to before so that they can see more files in one screen.
Can you please consider this or be able to have option to change the line space?

9 votesThanks for the feedback. We have made this change in order to make it easier for users to read and scan their file lists. While other users have made similar comments when they first saw the change, many of them have also told us they adapted to the change and prefer the new design.

Recent Files Menu Options
I saw one suggestion to allow "Recent Files" to open in a Microsoft App and not just browser, which I voted. The web app does eventually show the Microsoft App, i.e. Word, but only after I click on the file and it opens in preview mode. Why not immediately and before actually going to the preview?
Also, adding an option to the recent files menu that would directly link you to the file's folder would be enormously helpful.

Create a view of files or folders with unsupported names
Currently: If a file has an unsupported name, it will be listed in Box Drive or Box Sync without their path name. Users will have to manually search for the file which is not feasible if they have thousands of files with unsupported names.
Desired: Create a view of files or folders with unsupported search names in the Box web app to make it easy to rename and removes the process of having to manually search for them.
Nice to Have: Have a button, when clicked, expands to reveal the full path of files or folders with unsupported names

File Type Support: .nd Files
Have .nd file types supported on the Box Sync product. We use .nd files not for QuickBooks files, but for models we build. We would like there to be an option to upload these types of files through the sync interface.

Sort files by real number in filename
In the file view of the web app, files and folders should be sorted by real number, not alphabetically by first digit. In Windows and Mac a files will be listed like

Ability to opt-out from Group collaboration or hide group collaborated folders under All Files.
If collaborated as Group, the folder appears under All Files whether the user want to see it or not.
After a while, all of these folders would show up under the user's All Files and would be very hard to manage.
Thus, ability to opt-out from group collaboration or ability to "hide" folders under All Files is needed.
