Be able to set your personal notifications to also include someone else.
Be able to set your personal notifications to also include someone else.
Many of our users work in teams, so it would be good to allow a user the ability to specify if another BOX user or group should receive the altered notifications that they receive.

Because Watermarking is built as an enterprise-wide feature, we don’t currently plan to limit access to it to only certain users as this would be antithetical to how we do enterprise features as a whole in the product.
If we decide to add the ability to limit folder settings to certain levels of users, then I could see us changing watermarking to fit that pattern.

This is addressed in the recent Team Leads / Group Admin release.

Support Copilot Integration with Multiple Box Environments under a Single Microsoft Tenant
Many enterprises operate under a structure where a single Microsoft tenant is shared, while Box environments are separated by legal entity.
With the current limitation that Copilot × Box integration is restricted to a 1:1 relationship, it is difficult to achieve both group-wide Copilot adoption and proper information governance.
Enabling secure integration with multiple Box environments while maintaining a single Microsoft tenant would unlock significant value, including group-wide AI utilization, greater flexibility for M&A and organizational restructuring, and the avoidance of unnecessary Box environment consolidation or Microsoft tenant separation.<日本語>

Change Unique Identifier to Something other than Email Address
This is the grouping for the common request for Box to use a unique identifier other than email address for managed users.
Key pain point with the fact that Box uses email address as the unique identifier: Email addresses change often in large companies, thus requiring these companies to use custom API scripting to keep emails in Box updated based on changes in AD.
This unique identifier (whether a mapped value from the customer's user store, aka AD, or the Box unique user ID) should also be the identifier used when users authenticate to Box using SSO (via SAML).
20 votesThis feature request isn’t currently planned on the roadmap, but we are considering the notion of user attributes that can be placed on a user and then used for better context while sharing / collaborating and searching in the Admin Console.
Please provide more use cases in the comments to help us understand the problem better.

Folder of aliases to Box files for sharing
In order to supply a group of files to a collaborator such as an outside contractor, one must copy existing files into a new folder. We need a way to gather the ALIAS /SHORTCUT to multiple files that can be placed in a single shared folder.

Allow non-admin users to export the access stats for enterprises that enables Restrict Content Creation
We would like to unlock the limitation mentioned in the below article and allow end users to a report of access stats by themselves.

Updated retrieval of invitation logs from external tenants
If you get a log by user name, you can see which tenant you received an invitation from, but if you set the acquisition target to an administrative group, you will not know which tenant you received the invitation from. Even if you designate a group, I want you to know where you received the invitation from.

How can I specify a file type to ignore or block
I found a thread on the forum (URL copied below) which was asking exactly what I am looking for. However, it is 4 years old and this page also has many ideas suggested but they haven't been addressed. Thus, I am not sure if my idea will be addressed but I will mention it anyway.
https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360052391193-How-To-ignore-FilesThere are certain files I want Box sync to ignore or block. I would suggested allowing the user to create a configuration file in the root folder for the same in which we can specify files to ignore or block. This way, Box sync…

Recommend a new permission level that is the same access as "Viewer" but the "Viewer" to share at the same level
The sharing level of "Viewer" is beneficial to share approved documents through Duke Box. In our capacity the information in the approved document that is shared with the owner as "Viewer" should also be accessible to other individuals that the owner deems appropriate so these individuals know exactly want is approved, what is expected of them, and how to remain compliant. Because we issue the approval and maintain the final document and do not manage the owners group that needs access to the approved document, it would be very beneficial if, after the document owner gets "Viewer" permission to the…

Ability to automatically convert Unicode @ (atmark) to single byte
When non-English users try to use @mention in comment or annotation, they often type @ (atmark or at sign) character with their native language (mostly double bytes, Unicode).
Just like other cloud services (like Slack), please add ability to automatically recognize and convert double bytes atmark to single byte atmark for non-English user conveniences and to help drive user adoption of these features.

Add account info to Box application window
One of our users recently asked the following:
"In the Box drive alert window, the Box Drive Settings gear icon doesn't
do anything useful. Please add an actual settings window with basic
information like file space used, buttons for pause/restart syncing, etc.The Box Drive window is an alert style window that disappears anytime a
mouse is clicked or any other window is interacted with. This is the
case in Windows 7 through Windows 11. It would be better if Box Drive
had an actual application window like most other apps."I know that manual syncing isn't possible yet in…

Ability to hide feed updates by folder level
Like others have mentioned before, Feed can be too busy to make it useful. There are many folders I am invited in where I don't need to see updates. It would be useful to have the ability to silence those folders on your feed so you are only getting updates from the folders you are interested in.

Users and Groups - Move "More Options" [...] Menu to Left-Hand Side of Page
Admins regularly take repeated actions in the Users and Groups tab of the Admin Console - specifically Log in as User, and Add User to Groups. If the menu could be close to the user's name, this would make manual processing much easier for admins.

Make external folders more obvious in Box Drive and Box Web
Currently internal and external folders are comingled in Box. Although collections can help organise data in the web app, for those who predominantly use Box Drive this could potentially lead to a DLP issue, particularly where the internal and external folders have nearly identical names. In both Box Drive and Box Web it would be great to be able to choose your own colour coding for these folders e.g. anything external showing red, or the ability to group all of your external folders under one main EXTERNAL folder.

Box Forms – Add internal-only / scoped access controls for Form links (security & compliance)
Customers need the ability to restrict Box Form links to internal, authenticated users (and ideally specific users/groups), instead of only “anyone with the link.” Current behavior conflicts with stricter security postures and makes Forms hard to adopt for internal project and regulated use cases.
Background / Use Case
Customer is using Box Relay + Box Forms as part of internal project workflows:Workflow trigger: Form submission (Relay)
Outcome: e.g., DocGen or other internal automation
They want to present Forms to internal project teams only and treat them as an internal front end to Box workflows.
Today, the Form…

Folder Share for external users
It would be nice to have a feature where only a selected group of users can allow external users to have access to particular folders.
