Display pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started
Please display a pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started (or in other words, users are able to open contents).
We own a lot of content - this makes Box Drive take a long time checking the updated contents and starting up.
This is causing delays of Box Drive being launched.
If a notification pops up when Box Drive is ready to start accessing contents, users would not have to check the status of Box Drive so frequently.
Instead, they could work on other things while waiting for Box Drive to start.1 vote -
Ability to open password protected files from mobile devices
Until a few weeks ago, password protected files could be opened through the mobile app from a mobile device. Now the attempt to open a password protected file results in an error of "Decryption failed. (null). Password protected files cannot be opened from mobile device from m.box.com or www.box.com either (error is different). Seems to defeat purpose of cloud based storage since so many users depend on a mobile device to open view files from Box storage.

Send notifications to multiple emails
We have a separate instance for managed external users. Because they have to create a dummy email for these externals, the email is not one that is able to receive notifications. They would like the ability to tack on working emails (without the unique email constraint) so that these users can still receive email notifications.
9 votesThis feature, called the Alternate Notification Email, was delivered as an opt-in experience in the Admin Console on Sept 25, 2019. We also support developer APIs for admins who need to configure emails programatically. Ability to add branding to Box Sign notifications
Could fall under this request as well "Allow custom logo in Box notifications" - but just had a customer surface the need to add a logo to their Sign notifications, which would escalate the urgency to complete and return the document to the next signature.

Show number of unread notifications on left menu bar
In the past, users were given the number of unread notification they have on the left menu bar. This has now been replaced by a red badge. We would prefer to have the number display so it is more accessible.

Option to disable notifications for collaborator invites being accepted
Users can get spammed if they send folder collaboration invites to a group and the organization's default settings are to auto-accept collaboration invites. The option to disable notifications for accepting collaborator invites would be useful in this circumstance.

Requirements to set external users as target of tasks and notification in Box Relay

We detected a problem that Box Relay owner can't set external users as target of tasks and notification automatically sent by relay.
In this case, the external user had been invited not by the relay-owner, but by another user.
According to the article below, relay-owner need to invite external users to set them as target.<article>

Approval Result Email
The account that executed the trigger that started the BoxRelay will receive an email with the approval results of the relay, but we would like to limit the notification of the approval results.
(Ex. No email notification of approval results during the flow, only the final results are emailed, etc.)3 votes -

Ability to make Excel scripts available in "Box for Microsoft Office coauthoring"
Currently, due to OneDrive for Business requirements, scripts are not available when coauthoring is enabled in Box.

I would like the number of managed users to be displayed in real time.
Regarding counting managed users in Admin Console > Users & Groups, the current design has a delay of one or few hours before accurate number is reflected.
While we can use reports to see the exact number of users, it would be better to be able to see the number immediately after adding or removing users more intuitively.6 votes -
Unsync or Delete from Box notification.
Our admin believes having the pop up appear before the scan would reduce mistakes. If there is a large folder sync'd the pop up occurs after it has scanned the folder which can take a few minutes.
Users continue with their work and when the pop up eventually appears they are making mistakes as they do not read it and clock dismiss.

Microsoft auto-save to Box for Mac users
For Mac users, it would be great if Box can be integrated as a storage location within Microsoft applications (eg. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.). For Mac users, the auto-save slider in Microsoft Apps is disabled because the Box storage location is not specified. Please find a solution.

Language selection setting on collaboration email
When Japanese speaking users invite a collaborator, collaboration notification, the email body text is written in Japanese language. This behavior is not suitable when collaborator is Non-Japanese speaker.
So it is needed to be able to select the language of the invitation mail body when we invite others.
Japanese speaking users invite some English speaking users without changing their "default language" in account settings.

Custom notifications using Box API
Using Box API there is no way to create custom user notifications. It might be helpful to send some information to the customer that some documents have been moved, imported, etc. A user can monitor the folder but this would be a valuable extension for the API for platform developers.
12 votesThanks, this is a great suggestion but not one that is currently on our roadmap. In the mean time, you can consider using Webhooks to get relevant events and make use of a simple transactional email/sms API such as those provided by Twilio/Sendgrid or Amazon SES to send notifications based on those events.

Automated Email Notifications Based on Metadata Values
Provide the ability to set automated email notifications based on values entered into folder/file metadata.
For example, 'send a reminder email to X people X days prior to the date entered in the 'lease expiration' metadata field on a file.

Partial Sync Notification
It would be a good idea to add a new icon as well as the "Tick" to show a part synced folder. It's better than having to hover over it. Currently you must go manually searching for an issue most users don't realise can happen.

We are aware that Box Notes, video, audio, Flash, .msi, .exe, .zip, and 3D files will not be available when using the digital watermarking feature.
Currently, sensitive content is stored in a folder with a watermark applied, and users with previewer privileges are invited to view only. However, I am aware of the specification that if you create a BoxNote in a folder with watermark applied, it cannot be displayed in the Previewer.
Since BoxNote is a Box product and a frequently used feature, we would like to ask…1 vote
