allow user to set view-only mode
Allow me to read a box document or folder in read-only mode. If I accidentally touch or slip with the mouse - I modify the folder/document. "UNDO" will only do a little bit - but in this case I KNOW I am only browsing a folder that I will be contributing to. It's a bit of a downer to see a document marked as modified today (last modification was a year ago by the document creator) because I missed the CTRL button and typed a "c" into the text. UNDO (CTRL-Z) fixed the doc - but now it looks like…

Ability to post photos, videos, and hyperlinks in Box Hubs.
While posting the photo and video files is nice, it would be faster to be able to easily look at photos without clicking into their previews. Also, hyperlinks and adding Box shortcut files are a must—we can't currently offer employees a list of helpful external resources in Hubs. (We could provide a PDF/Word doc with all the resource links, but, again, this requires extra steps for the end user.)

Sorting - Don't Sort Folders First (Or Provide User-Level Setting to Choose)
The webapp (and mobile) have traditionally always sorted Folders, then Files (followed by Bookmarks) regardless of which sort order (name, updated, etc.) is chosen.

Shared Link Details: Add 'Last Usage' Column
The Shared Link Details report is a great report currently that provides admins a wealth of information when performing an 'inventory' or security review of all existing shared links.
One additional column that would be very helpful to include is a 'Last Usage' column that would provide a date entry for each shared link.
Usage is defined as the last time someone actually used that link in a browser. This is helpful to admins to be able to know if a link is still being used or not (prior to disabling it for security reasons.)17 votes -
Exclude users from Single Sign On
The Single Sign On feature is currently an "all or none" setting and it would be nice to have the option to exclude certain users from the SSO requirement when enabled.

Make Workflows Shareable Among Users (Box Relay and Box Relay Lite)
In Box Relay, we can check the progress of workflows in the [Tracking] function.
Currently, only the owner of the workflow, and Admins who are granted to access to workflows can see this [Tracking].However, the progress of workflows within the enterprise should be visible to other users as well.
(e.g. Users who have tasks assigned in the workflow, or Co-Owners of the folder where the workflow is triggered.)It would be useful if the owners could share their workflows to other users.

Extend classification posture to manage collaboration invites
Based on the classification of content, change the ability to invite collaborators, and automatically remove pre-existing collaborators if they exist and should not.
7 votesShield provides classification based external collaboration restriction. If you select to apply this restriction to both existing and new external collab, existing external collaborators will not be able to access the content they were previously invited to.

Ability to Copy a Hub to a New Hub
Copy a hub would be a super helpful feature because today if you want to hub - in any way - you have to rebuild the new hub from scratch each time.
With a Copy Hub option when the copied hub is created, it would contain all the associated branding, structure, and content as the oroginal and the user would then be able to reuse that as necessary - change/add/remove - the new hub.68 votesWe have release Hubs public API feature that includes copying a Hub. please let us know your feedback about this feature to your manager or to hubs-research@box.com
Here is API documentation: https://developer.box.com/reference/v2025.0/post-hubs-id-copy/

Box Drive specification improvement request
Box Drive is downloading a large amount of event streams, which can overwhelm company's network bandwidth. Due to the network bandwidth pressure, the business other than Box has been affected, so please take measures.
Here are the details:Box Drive is likely retrieving folder and file events that the logged-in user has access to, but is aware that there may be a large number of event downloads in the following cases, for example:.
・A specific user performs bulk operations on a folder in which many users are collaborating. (All events are downloaded to Box Drives of all collaboration user…52 votesWe are not currently planning these capabilities due to our focus on other higher-priority capabilities. We will provide an update here as soon as priorities shift. Please continue to share your feedback; it helps us prioritize the roadmap. Thank you!

Improve speed of reflection of latest data for reports less than 1 hour
Reports other than the User detail report will take 24 hours to reflect the latest data. Only user detail report is live with 1 hour data freshness limit. It is very inconvenient that the latest data is not reflected immediately.

Support for fetching and modifying co-admin permissions.
Support for fetching and modifying co-admin permissions.
Currently, Box allows users to retrieve a user’s role as an attribute via the /users/{user_id} endpoint. The possible role values are “user,” “admin,” and “coadmin.” While permissions for the “user” role can be accessed through this endpoint, the permissions and privileges associated with the “coadmin” role cannot be retrieved or modified through the API. This functionality is, however, accessible through the admin console user interface.

Restrict assigning higher level permissions to external users
we would like a control to restrict external users from having anything above a set permission level.
It would also be great if we could review on one screen, external users to see what permission levels is assigned

User can download a image via "View only" link on mobile browser
User can download a image by pressing the image and selecting "Add Photo"/"Download Image" when opening the image via "View only" shared link on mobile devices's (iPhone or Android) web browser .
Even if user has "View only" permission, there is no way to prevent downloading a image file on mobile browser. We need a way to prevent downloading a image on mobile browser.1 vote -
Auto Delegation of task
Allow user to set OOO (Out of office) and pick someone to auto delegate the task during his/her absence. This should delegate only tasks assigned directly to the user or if every member of a group is assigned a task. If the task is assigned to a group and marked as "Only 1 member from group to finish", then auto delegation should not happen.

Shared With Me - Folder Management for Collaboration Folders
We would like to have a "Shared with Me" folder for any folders we have been collaborated into.
We continually get feature requests for Box to allow a way to organize content shared with me. For example, I'd like to create a "Shared with me" folder that all the content shared with me could be organized into.
I envision this could happen in one of a few ways and there would need to be some determination how much control the end user has....Option 1:
- Allow end users to check a setting that would create a folder called…574 votes -
Option to request access to a folder
Request: If an external or internal user is forwarded a Box folder invite and they are not a current collaborator, they should have a mechanism to request the access and such request should automatically go to folder Owner/Co-owner for approval or decline. This should be done in a way that does not display or communicate the folder owners name.
Rationale: We have many external users that are part of large teams. Adding all (and maintaining) in the team is not feasible. These external users often forward the folder invites.

As an admin, I should be able to designate a folders zone (not restricted by the user).
In a closed environment where you have a single user designated as the owner, you are currently unable to utilize multiline tenancy. In an instance where UK HR Files need to have a zone of UK and US HR Files need to be in the US zone, I would need to create a separate service account to own each set of files.
Ideally you would be able to designate anything containing PII/PIA/IP to a root folder with a designated zone based on data storage compliance. Allowing multiple users to access without worrying about the need for unnecessary service accounts…
