1. Notify Box app users to refresh for latest updates on Content Preview and Content Explorer UI elements

   Currently, when Box app users access files through the Content Explorer and the Content Preview UI elements, there is no visible indication that one or more files have been updated simultaneously by managed users.
   As a result, users may not be aware of the latest changes or modifications made to the files.

   To ensure that app users benefit from new updates, I kindly request the implementation of a notification message within the Content Preview and Comtent Explorer elements. This notification message would dynamically appear whenever one or more files have been updated, prompting app users to refresh their page to access the latest modifications.

2. Add comments to different versions of files

   Box has version control (it essentially stores every update of a file, i.e. saving the file), however without adding comments it still hard to use it as an actual version control system. Is there a possibility to add comments to file version?

3. Add Mac package support to Box files accessed via the iOS Document Picker

   On iOS, we're using UIDocumentPickerViewController along with the UIDocumentPickerModeOpen to save and later edit files 'in place.'

   Unfortunately box.com converts document bundles to zip files without further notice on the file extension. This breaks any attempt to open and edit files 'in place' on iOS and on OS X.

4. Improve the Level of Fidelity of Text Files Preview in Box's Web App

   Can Box please improve the level of fidelity of text files preview in Box's Web App? We have reports that are generated as text files, and these reports are formatted (with spaces) so the information is readable and consistent. Currently, our users have kept providing us with feed back that they are having a hard time using Box's file preview when looking at these reports because Box file preview does not keep the format they have, and as result these reports look messy and sometimes borderline unreadable. Most of our users just have opted to download these reports to open them in a text editor, reducing efficiency and creating an overall negative user experience for them.

5. Regarding Preview of msg Files Stored on Box

   I would like to request a fix for the issue where, when an msg file is stored, the preview continues to display the initially uploaded content even after the file's content has been updated.

6. New Files take 10 minutes to appear in the search (Content Explorer)

   It takes ~10 minutes for a newly added file to appear in the search of the Content Explorer UI Element. In the meantime, if you attempt to search for that file based on the name, it displays no results, making it look like a bug. It can take even longer if the servers are busy (it took ~20 minutes for a file I uploaded to appear in a search one time)

   Please look for ways to reduce the turnaround on this. A suggestion: the file should be available to search by name right away, if it takes ~10 minutes to search by the content, so be it but the name should be instantaneous.

7. Open files from web app in Box client

   Oftentimes our team shares the location of a file within Box by pasting a link into, e.g. Asana. Clicking that link opens the item in the Box web app. There's no way to open that location within the Box client on MacOS other than looking at the file path on the web, then manually browsing to that location in Finder. I'd like a link you can click from the web app that reveals the location of that file within Finder.

8. Extending the Attach files as shared links functionality to Box for Outlook mobile

   Per https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044195733-Understanding-Box-and-Outlook-Integration-Options, the Box for Outlook integration only supports attaching files as shared links on desktop. Requesting that this functionality extends to iOS and Android.

9. Pulling file-level user activity reports in bulk

   I am trying to run a user activity report in Box. What I am hoping to see is which users accessed a set of files during a certain period of time.

   I ran the User Activity report in Reports against the parent folders that I was hoping to review, the activity log that came back only shows actions taken on the parent folders, no activity is shown for any of the files within the folders.

   Support has confirmed that there is no way to run this report against the sub-folders and sub-files of the folders selected.

   Having this functionality is critical to be able to practically review user activity against folders/files in Box.

   Folders often contain hundreds or thousands of files, this limitation means the only way to get this data is to review each file one at a time - an impossible task. In other words, it is currently impossible to review user activity against a set of files or folders in a meaningful way.

   I am trying to run a user activity report in Box. What I am hoping to see is which users accessed a set of files during a certain period of time.

10. Ability to see and access bookmarks in Box Drive

    Bookmarks: I store a lot of bookmarks in Box. This bookmarks are not visible in the folder structure on my laptop (links seems not to be stored as files). As a consequence e.g. bookmark titles are only searchable via Box browser interface but not via Windows search functionality within explorer

11. Make the problem files screen more usable

    Make problem files hyperlinked back to the Web App so users can easy click to take a look at the document on box.com.

    It's not always clear whether a problematic file exists only on my desktop, only on Box, or both. Clearer signals about that would be appreciated too.

12. Add the ability for previewer/uploader, viewer, and previewer to preview video files that contain watermarks.

    Currently, due to the specifications in the following article, previewer/uploader, viewer, and previewer cannot preview watermark enabled video files from Box.

14. Ability to view Box folders and files more clearly

    Currently, when we look at a list of folders or files, we feel that they are displayed in a cluttered way.
    This makes it difficult to find a particular item.
    We manage and respond to items by grouping them by tags.

    We believe that the following features will make Box even more convenient for us to use in the future

    ・Assign any colour to the folders in the box
    ・Assign any colour to the tags in the Box
    ・The order of the tags in the Box can be rearranged by dragging.

18. Need APIs for auto deletion of files and folders.

    Need APIs for marking files and folders for auto deletion in future date. This feature is on the portal, but provided as an API.

    Box can add this as an attribute to the file upload or folder creation API. Or a separate folder/file attribute API, so the date can be changed, if required later after its creation.

    We are automating activities on Box.com using RPA, the APIs are faster and reusable compared to the UI automation.

    Box should introduce APIs for basic features such as this one, so these can be done at the backend and it is more optimized and gains on performance.

    We want to add 'Box file request' in the content to Box hubs. This would enable various departments within the company to upload files directly here. Currently, Box file requests can accessed via a link, so having the ability to upload files through box hubs would be extremely convenient.

20. HD Video Preview: Allow User to Download the Lower Quality (720P, 480P, etc.) Renditions of Video Files

    With HD Preview, users can choose the quality of the video in the Preview (based on network/bandwidth speed, etc.), but users cannot download those downsampled/lower quality 'renditions'.

    REQUEST: Allow users to download the lower quality renditions of video files on Box. For example, I upload a 1080P file, and I can choose to Preview the video in reduced 720P or 480P quality, and I can also choose to download those same renditions if I'd like. Think of it like adding a 'which quality/size output would you like?' option added after clicking 'download' for a video file.

    Providing a way to create a copy of an HD video, but at a lower quality so that it is easily downloadable is a low priority for the team.

    It’s a niche use case at the moment and there’s a workaround (use a tool to downscale the video and upload that in addition to the HD video into Box).
