Password reset process is cumbersome
Even with the understanding that my specific situation might add a few steps, it is significantly longer and more involved than the analogous process for any other product, tool, or service that I use. I have described the steps that I have to go through and would encourage the Box Developers and UX Teams to consider a more seamless way to do this in some future release.
Reset Password – Box Drive
Key:
- = optional step, performed for positive validation that the new password was accepted
+ = step that is specific to my setup- At Windows/Domain login, notification…

Remove "Global Share" and "Personal" folders
The additional folders make data retrieval, data organization and data sharing more cumbersome. It ultimately hinders the digital transformation initiative as other, more traditional tools, are not subjected to the additional folder structure. Shared Drives and SharePoint for example have no segregated folders, simply one place where data is shared and data organization is determined by the end users. Also, the security notification may be handled with a simple notification banner instead as is the case on SharePoint.

support editing of Open Office .odt, ods, and .odp files in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
I'm asking for Box not to block certain file compatibility functionality that is aIready within Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets, when not used through Box. I would like to edit Open Office Formats .odt , .odp, and .ods files, preferably from with Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets respectively. MS Word does not support Open Office formats, otherwise I would request that as well. Somehow, Box is blocking Google Sheets and Docs from opening their Open Office file formats (.ods, .odp and .odt). Normally, Google Docs can open .odt files, if Box is not "in the way". See attached images of…

I'd like to be able to set the e-mail address for uploads to box folders
My team uses Box to allow students in our training courses to upload some of their code for review at a later time. One of the indispensable features has been the ability for these students to e-mail their code to Box, which alleviates many of the security concerns our clients have re: thumb drives, etc.
The one issue at this point is that when allowing e-mails to a Box folder, the e-mail address name is auto-genrated. I have no problem with this in theory, but in practice it results in typos, missed e-mails, and re-work.
I would love for either:

wrap long file names in the main UI. restore old namewrap UI feature.
I've noticed where other folks have suggested similar ideas and been told to use the BOX UI to create their own version. Not sure what the big deal is. we dont have programmers on staff but if you enlarge the font for a disabled person even short file names become too large to fit on the UI. I think even if long filenames is LOW probability, it occurs enuf to consider offering it. Practically every filename we have is too long so it drives us nuts. Video filenames are the worst because of a zillion versions. Can you imagine a…

Preview support for .nor and .jdr
This is driving recording video format
0 votesThis is not planned.
We don’t see enough customer demand for this yet, and supporting every additional content type takes a significant amount of engineering time and effort.
