Allow groups to be added as collaborators in Relay “Add Collaborator” outcome
Would be great to be able to add a group of collaborators “Add Collaborator” outcome. Right now only single users are accepted as input.

When user is editing file, the other user cannot be opened its file.

Upload notifications should notify user of uploads even if their account is the one uploading to a folder
User has set their folder settings to allow notification emails for a certain folder. She only gets email notifications when other people upload to that folder and not when she does. She would like to be able to receive notification emails when she uploads to the folder.

Date conditional formatting in Box Apps
As a user, I'd like to define conditional formatting for date columns in a Box App so that I can clearly see documents with approaching deadlines and those that are overdue

Prompt for Metadata in Workflow
It would be good to allow users to be prompted for the metadata values when the workflow triggers, instead of requiring the user to prefill them in the workflow template. A simple pop-up box with the field name and value input would suffice. Much like the existing prompt in the workflow, but automatically displayed based on the trigger.

See folder structure
Display the folder structure in BoxDrive instead of presenting isolated folders without context.
For example, if the folder structure is:
X
|- Y
|- Zand our access is limited to folder Z, it would be much more intuitive for the interface to display folder X as the main folder, with only folder Z visible inside it.
This would help provide greater clarity regarding the folder hierarchy and enhance the user experience by offering context rather than showing only folder Z in isolation.11 votes -
Ability to send Shield alerts to a Pager Duty email address for email integration.
It looks like I'm only able to notify users who are Shield co-admins whenever an alert is created. I would like to send alerts to a Pager Duty email address for email integration.
I would like to avoid creating a separate user for the purposes forwarding emails to pager duty. I would also like to avoid creating a forwarding rule on my own inbox.
Is it possible to send Shield alert notifications directly to non-user email addresses? If not, is this something the Box team is working on or can consider implementing?

Metadata Search - Only Show Relevant Templates (That Are Already Applied to Content I have Access To)
Currently the Webapp Search UI filters for Metadata Templates show the user ALL Metadata Templates that are in their EID, regardless of whether the specific user actually has access to any content where that Template is being used.
This leads to a cluttered list of Metadata Templates in the webapp search filters UI when an EID has many Metadata Templates.10 votes -
Consistent TimeZone Reporting
Good morning,
I think it is important that all the reporting is consistent in the way it is generated. Right now there are three linked reports that are treated differently and make more difficult to compare them. Though the underlying purpose is different, it is clear that they are related and it would help a lot that they use the same exact time zone.These reports are:
- Platform Activity. Generated by using PST time zone.
- User Activity. Generated by using the report requester time zone.

I would like to be able to customzie the content preview window side bar
Once Box AI is enabled it takes the top spot as the default sidebar view in the content preview window. Some of my users would like the Activity Tab to load first, as they depend on seeing comments. Being able to customize the sidebar icons would be great

Ability to Annotate / Markup Files (documents, images, etc.)
Users can currently comment on files, and this request is to extend that functionality to allow users to add annotations to specific locations within a document or file.
Specific types of annotations to support:

Allow users to know whether a file has been updated via Box Drive.
Add notifications on file updates within Box Drive. If a file is currently updated, we need to view notifications in the web browser as Box Drive does not show this.

Eliminate confirmation email for manually created or provisioned accounts
We feel that the confirmation email step should not be utilized with accounts that are manually created in the portal or that are auto provisioned from AD. When we create a new account, there is a "delay" with the new email address being propagated and established in our third-party cloud-based email security system. This causes the new email to be added to the hard bounce list at Box due to the email address not being valid (yet). We understand the need for a confirmation email when it comes to an individual user signing up, but if an account is created…

Set default file view and sort options by folder (and all sub folders for that folder)
Ideally, let an owner or editor of a folder set the default view (list or grid) and sort order of the files.
The system default appears to be by date the file was updated which is rarely (if ever) what our users want.
Re: view options: For photos especially, the list view is rarely the preferred view.
Additionally, with the grid view, allow the size of the image also be set as a default.
This may not be an admin console enhancement. I think it needs to be a under More when you’re looking a a folder.

External 2FA - use email instead of SMS
2FA for external users - have the option to have the second factor email instead of text. Or give the option for either text or email.

Shield Malware Threat Detection False Positives on Excel Documents with Macros
Multiplan (160k ARR) turned on Malware Deep Scan and was getting 3-5 false positives per day because users across multiple departments often work on Excel Documents with Macros. Due to their process, users need to upload new versions of these Excel documents daily (they cannot use Version Control to handle this). So the IT team is being pinged every time a new version is added. This has been so overwhelming that the IT team has turned off Malware Detection. They will enable again if Macros are not accidentally flagged as potentially malicious.
42 votesFalse positives detections are a possibility with any malware detection tool. At Box, we want to make sure our customers have controls to manage alerts that are generated and stop any unnecessary noise. We have some additional detection filters for our malware detection rule on the proposed roadmap for this year.
