Add 'Box file request' in the content to Box hubs
We want to add 'Box file request' in the content to Box hubs. This would enable various departments within the company to upload files directly here. Currently, Box file requests can accessed via a link, so having the ability to upload files through box hubs would be extremely convenient.

Export input metadata from file upload forms
It would be nice to be able to export a CSV of input metadata during a file upload request.
For example, if I create a metadata template and add those attributes as fields to my file upload form and the uploader inputs their name, email, and other requested details into those fields, I'd like to be able to export the data to a CSV for the folder they uploaded their files to and see columns for each field on the form (including attributes from the metadata template). Need APIs for auto deletion of files and folders.
Need APIs for marking files and folders for auto deletion in future date. This feature is on the portal, but provided as an API.
Box can add this as an attribute to the file upload or folder creation API. Or a separate folder/file attribute API, so the date can be changed, if required later after its creation.
We are automating activities on Box.com using RPA, the APIs are faster and reusable compared to the UI automation.
Box should introduce APIs for basic features such as this one, so these can be done at the backend and it is more optimized…

Increase size of left-side menu on Home screen
The left-side menu on the Home screen is too narrow and cuts off the names of folders/files saved under My Collections/Favorites.
Users should be able to set whatever width is needed for the menu.

Disable preview mode when opening Office 365 files
Preview mode is an extra step that is confusing our technically challenged and upper management. Believe it or not, they come across this roadblock (as it is perceived) and get turned off by Box, thereby defaulting back to opening locally.

Metrics for tracking most oft-accessed files on a Box Drive shared among a team, department, etc.
OneDrive's tallying of the number of times particular files are accessed and by whom helped direct organization efforts for cloud storage and understand staff behavior. The Box Drive does not have a similar quantitative feature, as far as I know. Possible to create such a feature, to track who, when, and how often particular files and folders are used by staff permitted access? Thank you!

Improve Move operation to offer choices when destination folder already has file of same name
Currently, if a number of files are selected to move to another location, if the destination location already has filename(s), Box simply advises that the moves for those files has 'Failed', and lists then 'already exists in the folder '....'
Box should instead, like other products, offer a pop-up window, indicating the filenames, locations, dates last modified, (and additionally, if any files are signed), with the option for user to select/unselect file(s) to overwrite or ignore. Filenames selected/ticked would then be moved, together with other files where no match was found.

Expose the functionality for auto-deleting folders and files on a specific date via the API.
Currently, the web app has a file/folder setting in which a folder or file can be deleted on a specific date. We don't expose this service via the API.
We work with documents in packages (folders) and so when the documents expire and are deleted, we would also like the containing folder to be deleted as well. All of these packages are customer applications and so if not cleaned up then they will accumulate over time.
Right now, retention deals with files only, leaving behind the folders. The auto-delete on the folder is perfect for this purpose except that it…

file transfer status
One of our users recently asked the following:
"The Transfers pane in the Box drive alert window rarely shows any file
names, even when files are actively being transferred. Please change the
Transfers window so that it shows a rolling list of all transferring and
recently transferred files and a time remaining estimate. The list
should be rolling and not clear when the transfers are done. It should
always be possible to see the last 5-10 files that Box Drive has

Allow drag and drop of files and folders from the Box Webapp on one browser tab to the Box Webapp in another browser tab. We often need to search through a large list of project related files to find the place we would like to store information that was created in multiple task related folders. Allow bulk action on Shield malicious content alerts
Allow bulk action on BoxShield malicious content alerts. We have seen an extremely high rate of positives. Individually marking files as safe is not scalable, and need to be able to do bulk updates.

Box Web - make file icons smaller
Prologis would like the large file icons in All Files > recent files to be smaller. As they are now, they aren't very helpful - the previews are too small, and you can't see the full name of the file, making it difficult to identify.

Search file contents for non-standard file types (e.g. py, R)
It would be a wonderful if Box could be adjusted to index and search the file contents for files beyond Microsoft Office and text files. For example, much of what I would like to search is in python or R scripts, so being able to index and search those files as well would be very helpful.
(it would also be very useful to search specific metadata field such as "name" or "type", like windows explorer enables)

Box Drive Sync Delay Indicator
Box Drive is supposed to mirror the files on the server. But we experience delays of five minutes to over an hour between when we complete an upload to Box and when other users can see the file in Box Drive. We end up having to use the web portal more frequently to download files rather than waiting for them to appear, which creates version issues and nullifies the most attractive feature of Box Drive. iOS Files app "waiting to upload" problem/getting stuck
Awhile back I could not get the iOS Files to work with Box documents. They would get stuck in the "waiting to upload." While they were helpful, I spent several emails with Box assistants and we couldn't find a solution and gave up. It seems obvious, but I finally figured out what happened. The Microsoft Office applications in iOS require an Office 365 account to edit documents.
