Prevent file duplication when using template and file replacement
Box Sign allows the creation of templates that replace the underlying document within a signature request / template while keeping the existing field placeholders in place.
However, using a different document than the pre-set document will result in duplicate files identical to the original document in the destination folder of the Sign document.
This means that one unnecessary file is generated each time the template is used once.
If a template is used 100 times, there can be as many as 100 unnecessary files!
Of course, this will not occur if no files are replaced. However, it is common to…39 votes -
provide option to not automatically accept collaboration invitations when being invited from a user group
I do not have option to not accept the collaboration invitation when content is shared with a user group that I belong to. Is there a way to have the option to not accept the invitation when invited by a user group that I am part of it.

Customizing Sender in Ready Sign Link
When Box Sign is initiated via Ready Sign Link, the Template Creator currently becomes the Sender of the sign request.
However, depending on the document or process, we may want the user who initiates the Ready Sign Link to be the Sender. To address this, it would be helpful if the Sender could be customizable when generating the Ready Sign Link (e.g., choose either the Template Creator or the Ready Sign Link Initiator as the Sender).
As a workaround, we are currently using a Service Account user to create the template, so the Sender appears as something like "ACME Sign…

Extend expiration dates to be shown in their user activity reports
For external collaborations, it shows the date the collaboration is going to end when it's first set in the user activity to report as
-Action: Collaboration expiration
-Details: To: YYYY-MM-DDHowever when you extend this period, the "To: YYYY-MM-DD" isn't displayed so you don't know until when it's extended until unless you go the individual folder/file itself and look at the "clock" mark manually.
In the report
-Action: Extend collaborator expiration
-Details: [Blank]The customer wants to have a grasp of each expiration dates so they're saying looking at each item manually on Box is impractical.
They would like the…2 votes -
Name in the notification email of Box Relay should be the initiator of a workflow rather than workflow owner/creator.
Currently the name displyaed in the notification email of Box Relay is the name who owned/created the workflow.
It's idal to be displayed Name of initiator of a workflow in the notification email especially in caseunspecified majority of people might launch the workflow by manual.
Enabling the above feature makes it much easier to confirm user who start the flow.25 votes -
Add information about when users clicks a bookmark to the user activity report
Currently, the behavior when users click a bookmark created in Box and move to the link destination is not included in the user activity report.
Administrators want to check which they used bookmarks and when from Box and which sites they accessed from the log.
Please add information about when they click a bookmark to the user activity report.<
1 vote -
Box Drive (Windows) - Remember folder view settings
We’ve been using Box Drive since launch, and it’s been an incredible improvement in our workflow. Only a small issue has made it notably less useful in saving time, and is a known issue documented here (community.box.com/t5/Box-Drive-Known-Issues..)
Our file name and directory lengths are wider than the default for Box Drive/Windows. Normally Windows remembers preferences around column width, but in this case, as you know, Box Drive does not. This causes us to have to manually resize the “Name” field in every folder/directory, every time we access one. Therefore each user is having to do this perhaps dozens of times…
181 votesBox Drive beta is complete, and this capability is now available in the latest public release. To install the Windows version with ARM support, visit https://www.box.com/resources/downloads. Transfer Workflow Ownership (not sending it as a template but as a workflow)
Recently the workflow ownership transfer has been released.
https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402945686291-Transferring-Your-Workflow-to-Another-UserHowever, this is to make the template of the workflow that is needed to be transferred.
There is a need to transfer the actual workflow for below reasons:
- the new owner needs to check the past workflow activity but with the template it is not possible
- since it is a template, the new owner still needs to make the workflow
Thank you for your consideration.
40 votesWe definitely want to address this use case (new owner sees past workflow activity) but do not have plans to address it in the near term. We will update when we have a firmer idea of when this can be tackled.

About the scope of expiration notice to co-owners.
Currently the expiration of the invited user to a folder is notified to the owner and co-owner of the folder,
however, any co-owner cannot receive the expiration of the invitee of its child folder while owner receives all the expiration notification. We would like to request to cascade the scope of co-owner's privilege to its child folders so that the co-owner of the parent folder can receive all the expiration notification of the descendant folders.

Enforce parent folder collaboration restrictions on moved folders
Make sure that folder settings apply to all the subfolders. Currently, even if you restrict collaboration to within your company through folder settings, a folder that is already collaborated to external users can be moved into that folder. Right now, we don’t have the mechanism to check if a folder that is about to be moved is collaborated to external user.

Workflows with external users
(Japanese follows)
When an external user is invited to a folder, you want to execute a workflow that specifies an external user.Currently, the notification action allows you to create a workflow that specifies an external user.
Since it is not possible to create a workflow that specifies an external user in the "folder action" > "Add collaborator" etc., I would like to see the function improved so that external users can be specified in "Add Collaborator" and other actions.
4 votes -

Unmanaged Users Workflow
Easier way to managed "unmanaged users" in the Admin Console.
Currently, you have to run a report to find "unmanaged users" within the customers domain, then move the to managed, wait for their acceptance, then you can delete them.
Current customer is frustrated that this cannot be completed in a seamless manner and will remain out of compliance if their users are not managed correctly. This should be a bit more seamless and less steps.11 votes -
Add further columns to Shared Links report
In order to prepare a csv file to bulk update existing shared links, it is necessary to
A) run TWO reports - a BOX USERS Report (CLI command), and a SHARED LINKS ReportIf however, you wish to provide a list of shared links to each Box user who created the link(s), then a THIRD report is needed, a USER ACTIVITY Report (for max years, Items Shared action). This report needs to be filtered to show only the latest date/user that created the link (NB a shared link may be created more than once)
B) then the BOX …

A User activity report on folders created only
We are looking to generate a user activity report on folders created only. Currently, user activity has file management > uploaded as an option which will include files uploaded and folders created but we would just like folders created and not files uploaded.

Include timestamp (start and end) of an activity on report
User wants to know the start and end times when moving files within Box. Since there is no way other than leaving a record of the user starting the process on report, we would like you to add this record for the user activity report.

Create annotations that aren’t visible to other users
Annotation that only the user/owner can see and not to other collaborators.
5 votesThe overall request for the ability to annotate files in Box is tracked here: https://pulse.box.com/forums/909778-feedback/suggestions/35984509-ability-to-annotate-markup-files-documents-ima
Specific to this request, we do not plan to expose the ability to mark up a file (with highlights, drawings, etc.) with annotations that aren’t visible to other users. The primary use case for annotations in Box is to share feedback on a given file, like these examples:
“Update this paragraph to be here instead” on a document or “Change the color of this to blue” on an image -
Please expand user name character field limit from 50 to 100 words.
Global companies need local characters such as Japanese and English for name field and 50 is short for some names
4 votesThis suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap. Once we see more traction from customers who want are requesting this functionality, we can revisit our decision.
