Export input metadata from file upload forms
It would be nice to be able to export a CSV of input metadata during a file upload request.
For example, if I create a metadata template and add those attributes as fields to my file upload form and the uploader inputs their name, email, and other requested details into those fields, I'd like to be able to export the data to a CSV for the folder they uploaded their files to and see columns for each field on the form (including attributes from the metadata template). Expose the functionality for auto-deleting folders and files on a specific date via the API.
Currently, the web app has a file/folder setting in which a folder or file can be deleted on a specific date. We don't expose this service via the API.
We work with documents in packages (folders) and so when the documents expire and are deleted, we would also like the containing folder to be deleted as well. All of these packages are customer applications and so if not cleaned up then they will accumulate over time.

Increase size of left-side menu on Home screen
The left-side menu on the Home screen is too narrow and cuts off the names of folders/files saved under My Collections/Favorites.
Users should be able to set whatever width is needed for the menu.

Improve the Level of Fidelity of Text Files Preview in Box's Web App
Can Box please improve the level of fidelity of text files preview in Box's Web App? We have reports that are generated as text files, and these reports are formatted (with spaces) so the information is readable and consistent. Currently, our users have kept providing us with feed back that they are having a hard time using Box's file preview when looking at these reports because Box file preview does not keep the format they have, and as result these reports look messy and sometimes borderline unreadable. We can preview files such as dwg or other heaving file but can't have a simple txt file preview ?!

My biggest challenge is version control of files that are shared in multiple box folders.
Ideally updating master file would then update all the different box files it is housed in that may have a variety of users. I spend more time on version controls and finding the latest one than anything.

Directly copy files from Salesforce's native file storage to Box via the Box Folder Component which is present on a record
Be able to drag and drop files stored in Salesforce's native file storage into the Box for Salesforce LWC to save the file down from Salesforce into the dedicated Box folder for the record.

New Box Drive for Windows (Cloud Files): Improve Explorer UX during startup/connecting to avoid unstable/incorrect folder state
Problem (What problem could Box solve for you?)
When Windows starts, the new Box Drive (Cloud Files architecture) auto-connects. During this “connecting/initializing” period, the Box Drive folder becomes visible in File Explorer even though Box Drive is not fully running/ready. The folder view is unstable: some items show missing icons/status, and opening folders can result in errors. This happens consistently across multiple users in our pilot.
This behavior may be aligned with the feature “Box Drive folders remain accessible even when the Box Drive application is not running,” but exposing a partially-initialized state causes confusion and support tickets (users think…4 votes -
Allow bulk action on Shield malicious content alerts
Allow bulk action on BoxShield malicious content alerts. We have seen an extremely high rate of positives. Individually marking files as safe is not scalable, and need to be able to do bulk updates.

iOS Files app "waiting to upload" problem/getting stuck
Awhile back I could not get the iOS Files to work with Box documents. They would get stuck in the "waiting to upload." While they were helpful, I spent several emails with Box assistants and we couldn't find a solution and gave up. It seems obvious, but I finally figured out what happened. The Microsoft Office applications in iOS require an Office 365 account to edit documents. Disable preview mode when opening Office 365 files
Preview mode is an extra step that is confusing our technically challenged and upper management. Believe it or not, they come across this roadblock (as it is perceived) and get turned off by Box, thereby defaulting back to opening locally.

Box Drive Sync Delay Indicator
Box Drive is supposed to mirror the files on the server. But we experience delays of five minutes to over an hour between when we complete an upload to Box and when other users can see the file in Box Drive. We end up having to use the web portal more frequently to download files rather than waiting for them to appear, which creates version issues and nullifies the most attractive feature of Box Drive. Add notes at timestamps of audio and video
Enable users to add timestamp notes (annotations, comments) on files with audio or video. For example: the ability to add a note at a certain point in time in the video, especially for feedback purposes.

For files, folders and users name, we need to use U+10000 - U+10FFFF in Unicode characters.
Today, we can only use BMP in Unicode characters on Box.
However, Windows OS supports many Unicode characters(eg, emoji), besides BMP, so this can be a problem in data migration from a file servers to Box.
Also, in CJK, Unicode characters other than BMP are used in personal name, so we consider this to be a big issue.
We hope to have many Unicode characters available everywhere on Box.

Box Web - make file icons smaller
Prologis would like the large file icons in All Files > recent files to be smaller. As they are now, they aren't very helpful - the previews are too small, and you can't see the full name of the file, making it difficult to identify.

Folder Tree View in WebApp (Windows Explorer/Finder, eBuilder)
I noticed that Box does not have a high-level folder tree view, except in the 'All Files' page (you click on the arrow next to "All Files"). Many Box folders in my company's folder structure take a very long time to load - however the folder tree view on the 'All Files' page loads quicker, but still not as fast as another application like eBuilder.
