  1. Unable to add a content to a Hub site due to folder settings and Enterprise settings

When an user who is invited as editor to contents at folder level or file level tries to choose q folder or file to add a Hub site, those files and folders are grayed out and unable to choose.
this is due to the invite is limited at enterprise setting or folder setting as below.

/ At Enterprise settings, Box amin checks "only the admin, fokder owner and co-owers can nvite collaborators"
    or
/At folder settings, "only folder owenrs and co-owners can send collaborators invites" is checked

This is bit strange because the user is editor, but it seems that…

  2. Ability for users to set sorting preference

Box is not longer default showing files by file name. This requires resorting of files every time I open a folder, which is hundred of times a day.

Please enable users to set the default sorting order for folders or restore the prior defaults

    not planned  ·  katiele responded

This suggestion is not under consideration for the future roadmap. We are currently focused on improving our user interface and key flows of user management before we add features around bulk group management.

  4. Retrieve logs of users who uploaded files via the file request link

The file request link is extremely useful in our daily operations. It is a great feature that allows users without a Box account to upload files to Box. However, under the current specifications, if logging in to Box is not required in the settings, no information about the person who uploaded the file via the file request link is recorded in the logs. This poses a significant problem from an audit and compliance perspective.

For example, if a user enters their email address in the email field at the time of upload, it would be very helpful if that…

  5. Restrict users to only use Sign templates i.e. not be able to send ad-hoc requests

In banking we want to prevent any user error and they should only send requests through officially created templates

  7. User statistics to include users with zero activity

User statistic reports only return users who have an action against the names, rather than reporting all users as it previously did
    Expected Behavior:

User statistic report should return all users in the box account rather than just those with actions. This is so that the client can target users who have not logged into box

  9. Box Sign requests default "my requests" folder

Box Sign requests default to save into a "my requests" folder for all users. We don't always need the sign request saved into our regular Box folder structure and having a separate place for each user to send their requests to would be more beneficial.

  11. allow user to set view-only mode

Allow me to read a box document or folder in read-only mode. If I accidentally touch or slip with the mouse - I modify the folder/document. "UNDO" will only do a little bit - but in this case I KNOW I am only browsing a folder that I will be contributing to. It's a bit of a downer to see a document marked as modified today (last modification was a year ago by the document creator) because I missed the CTRL button and typed a "c" into the text. UNDO (CTRL-Z) fixed the doc - but now it looks like…

  12. Need more explanation for "Unknown IP" on User Activity Report

It would be helpful for the User Activity Report to show something like "Box internal IP" or "Legit IP" in the IP Address column when the IP falls into "Use Box’s internal IP address".

Customers sometimes want to know the reason of "Unknown IP" description for their User Activity Report events.
The article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415012490387-User-Activity-Report says "Unknown IP" is shown when the IP address falls into "Spoof an IP address", "Use a VPN proxy", or "Use Box’s internal IP address" situations.

If it falls into "Use Box’s internal IP address" situation, customers do not have to worry about it…

  13. Expand Capabilities for Adding External Collaborators to Relay Tasks/Notifications

Currently, a user can only add an external collaborator to a Relay Task/Notification if the following are true -

    • The user owns the content
    • The user has added the external collaborator to content
    • The user has to have less than 5,000 external collaborators on items they own

Many customers have a closed folder structure, where one admin user owns all content, so this admin user would be the only one who can create the workflow with external collaborators added to tasks/notifications. For large organizations especially, this is difficult to administer and maintain, so ideally even users who do not…

  15. Tansfer Form Ownership

I would like the ability to transfer forms to other users. Reasons below:

    1. If employees are going on extended leave or parental leave and someone else is in charge of managing these forms.

    2. If initial set up is completed by an admin but then continually managed by another team.

I am told form ownership transferring will be available only on deletion of a user account in a future release but would like it to not be reliant on the deletion of a user.

  16. MS Office @ mentions to sync and notify users

@ mention comments, tags and notifications section in Microsoft Office apps, should also integrate with Box interface and notifications. Great achievement with co-authoring, however, it is highly inconvenient to have to comment on Box preview, and then open the file to work/edit. Ideally users need to be able to @ mention and tag other colleagues/users within the MS application, which should notify other users to take action on the required document. Otherwise it creates duplication of work/inefficiencies in the process.

  17. More user-controlled settings (organizational and other)

Allow users to set default sorting method. E.g., I can choose to have files always appear in alphabetical order.
Furthermore, allow users any controls they would have with a regular file explorer. I genuinely don't understand why my workplace wants me to use Box: File Explorer But Worse Somehow™
Let users control their UI. It was reality a mere decade ago and now every company tries to obscure choice beyond reason. It's frustrating. We want our controls back.

  18. Custom Identifiers that can be seen in user reports

Customer Requests the ability to upload custom identifiers that can be seen when running user reports. Currently they use the user's email address to determine if a license is needed, and when a name change occurs, this creates confusion as it appears that the person may have left and the license is no longer needed.

  19. Secure open link - Require email address verification with one-time password

    【Summary】
Please add "Require email address confirmation by one-time password" to the Open Link settings.
This will allow the access statistics to show the email addresses of users who have accessed from the open link, so that you can determine if the access is suspicious or not.

    【Problem to be solved】
The current open link is not secure enough.
This is because it is not possible to determine who accessed the file.
With the current use, if a user who is not logged in to Box accesses from an open link, the access history only shows the IP address…

  20. Make API rate limits more sophisticated, especially for large enterprises

When working with a Box Enterprise that has tens of thousands of users, scripts designed to do things like user information syncing, group syncing, or user provisioning/deprovisioning often run into real issues with the Box API rate limits.

Some calls (e.g. downloading or uploading a file) are clearly significantly more resource-intensive than others (e.g. getting a user’s aliases). The method Google has implemented for the Gmail API (see https://developers.google.com/gmail/api/v1/reference/quota) seems like a really great way to balance the need to protect the back-end systems against the need for increased performance for less-intensive calls. It would be nice…
